I took my 2015 Chevy Suburban to service my AC. Before it went in the shop my AC was blowing 70 degrees temperature instead of 60 degrees. After paying $223 for diagnostic they tell me its the ac compressor not functioning that its .2lb overfill and didnt need a charge. I then get a quote of an additional $2700 to fix it and I get my truck back. As I drive it back, my AC now blows nothing but pure hot air. I call other shops here in Redding and I find out every shop here is charging $89 for diagnostic. I decided to take it to D&H automotive and they replaced my compressor along with the kit for $1550 out the door. As an honest business owner myself, I will never take another of my vehicles to Chuy's Garage. Price gouging is not OK!

The shop manager is so rude, I asked him why a job would take an hour to put four bolts on a exhaust pipe and he said that if I don’t like it, then I can go somewhere. That is not a way to talk to customers. I would never do any more business with you or this shop.

Was on the way to Grass Valley from Portland when I heard a loud pop and lost quite a bit of power in my engine. I was worried, it being a Saturday, that we would end up being stuck in Redding for a few days until the right parts and people were available. Chuy had my problems diagnosed and fixed in about an hour and a half. He also took the time to explain how and why things went wrong and what to look out for. No BS, just great customer service and quality work. As someone who was born and raised on the east coast I appreciated Chuy's honesty and straightforward approach. No beating around the bush or up-selling here. If your car needs work in Redding, THIS IS THE SPOT!! Thank you again, Chuy!

2000 Dodge Ram B1500 conversion van. The driver's side door open sensor and key and ignition system had failed. With door closed and locked and car running / key in the ignition, the door jar alarm was on as where the overhead lights. When key was out of ignition switch and doors locked, the overhead lights were on and draining the battery. The sensor was part of door locking system and not on the door jam. I am cheap and I took the door apart trying to fix it myself but found it was too complex and parts are no longer carried by dealer. Chuy diagnosed the problem in a day, found a part at auto wrecker in Yakima Washington and called me with quote of 400 to 450 total with part price 220.00. I thought this was reasonable because I knew the amount of work to be done. When I picked it up, the total was 405.00. I was very happy and fully endorse this business as fair and reasonable based on my experience. I will return to this shop for future repair needs.

If you're looking for a reliable, honest, and trustworthy mechanic, you've found the right place! Chuy and everyone in his shop are amazing people. They see you as a person, not as a customer. Chuy goes above and beyond with his service and considers the fact that not everyone can afford expensive repairs. He offers solutions that are realistic and helpful. I’ve been roadtripping for a couple weeks & noticed a really bad noise on my back brakes. I’m from Pennsylvania so I was super nervous about finding a mechanic out here. Chuy’s garage saved the day. In the middle of a long road trip a bolt came one of the protective plates on the underside of our car which caused crazy vibrations in the cabin. Called Chuy’s first thing on Saturday morning, they answered right away, and then didn’t even charge us for what turned out to be a quick repair. Super friendly and very helpful employees make me want to come back here for my next service even though I’m from out of state. Can’t recommend this place enough!
