I am always very hesitant when it comes to bringing my vehicle to a mechanic. When I called Cope's and told them what was going on with my vehicle and what I thought might be wrong with it, they had me bring it in to diagnose it, and it was fixed that same day. Cope's provided me with great service. Very excellent customer service!!

The owner of Cope's auto repair did an amazing job on my vehicle. Well lets back up my 2012 equinox ltz timing chain slipped an my engine locked up. Had to get it towed to affordable auto in Shelby Michigan. Had to wait 2 weeks cause they were so booked cause of covid. Once they got around my vehicle they didn't even want to look at it. Had to ask the owner of the shop twice to look at my engine either way he says to replace it ill cost 6000 dollars. sounded like he was just trying to take advantage of people during the pandemic. Rude and not professional. told the owner that I would take my vehicle back once I save up enough money (as if) My dad suggested a place in Muskegon Cope's auto repair. The people at this shop look at my vehicle the right way. this place has extremely good quality and value. they really try to give you the best deal for your buck. once everything was done and said it cost me 2850 which in my opinion is way better then affordable autos price for 6000. they owner of the shop went above and beyond to even work on my vehicle himself. The lady at the desk is a complete sweetheart how she takes care of her customers and will make things right and make you feel that you truly landed at a place that cares for you. i will be recommending my friends and family to this place cause of the beautiful people and work they do.

I was working in the area when my car started smoking and instantly over heating. Thankfully, Cope's was right nearby! Although it was the end of their day, they welcomed me and my vehicle and promptly diagnosed and informed me of the issue bright and early the next morning. Being from out of town, these amazing folks were truly a God send! I highly recommend them to anyone who needs vehicle service! They are genuine people who are making a big impact in Muskegon. I would highly recommend copes auto repair. I had a wheel bearing that needed to be replaced and I called them and they immediately gave me an estimate price that was profoundly cheaper than the place I had called prior to. They set me up with an appointment and got me in right away. They even followed up with a text the following day to make sure that everything was running OK and I that I was pleased with their work and service. 10/10 would recommend! 🙂

Place is a joke !! I went in to get an upper control arm replaced instead they broke my axle and tried to charge me a fee and extra labor then the owner flipped out on me for asking if they were going to install the axle they broke for free, after the experience with the hostile owners of the repair shop I have been trespassed , after I paid the $262 to get my vehicle back but the tow company said they wont tow it cause it has no axle , ball joint or wheel on it. If you go here get ready for some scams going on one more thing apparently they don’t except cards of any kind even though they said they do STRAIGHT UP TRASH!!!

Honestly, sucks I had to give them one star because they don’t deserve one star! Brought my car in for a simple tire patch (was told $25) They broke my key and locked lug nut off, NEVER offered to replace! Told me they would get it off, never once told me they had to order a part to do so, till they said “it’s gonna be a while if you want to have someone come get you the part won’t be in till prob 11” I was like okay, thought they were gonna make things right and fix and replace! Boy was I ever wrong, got a text stating it was done and price was $100 over what I was originally quoted, and now I’m still with out my locked lug nut and key to get the others off. What a freaking joke this place is!

Brought my car in for overheating and carburetor issues after charging me 1400.00 dollars my car is still not running and never got a clear explanation of what they actually fixed on da car they just let sit on their property until I called to check on da repairs then they told me that they didn't repair hot rods after their receptionist told me that they did. I'll never go back.

Amazing staff, the most honest I have ever dealt with. Brought my flex in cause I was told by belle tire and the toyota dealership on sternberg that my ti rods needed to be replace, after an inspection copes tells me they do not need to be replaced and didn't charge me for the inspection even after I insisted on paying they still wouldn't take payment, awesome people I will be taking all my business here from now on.

Reliable. Hardworking. Thoughtful. The team at Cope's Auto Repair care about getting your car repaired and back on the road as much as their customers!! It's hard to find a shop with this level of commitment and quality repair work these days. In the last few weeks, Cope's auto has performed several emergency repairs for my vehicle during this peak cold snap and snow. I am new to Michigan and even newer to Muskegon. I have experienced other shops in the area, and while services were provided, it was not the repair that was needed to keep my truck from breaking down. Cope's Auto was able to source the hard to find parts, get the repairs completed, and got me back to work. I am so glad to have found this hidden gem in Muskegon! This will definitely be the shop I go to for all my repair needs! I HIGHLY recommend. 10 STARS!!🌟

I’ve gone here several times over the last year with my Malibu and have never had a repair been approved by me. November 26th I had dropped my car off after Bolduc’s stated my head gasket was bad and Copes had my vehicle until December 16th. I had to call THEM to obtain updates on my vehicle. The prior Friday I had shown up a few minutes too late to pick up my vehicle after they stated it was the thermostat which I had not authorized them to repair which cost me almost 400.00 out of pocket and wasn’t covered under my warranty. My vehicle was either left unlocked or they have a thief working for them as I had opened my vehicle and immediately noticed my brand new dash camera was missing along with a very nice bottle of pepper spray and a radar detector. They acknowledged it was in there and said they would replace it. Today, Wednesday January 8th they finally txtd that my new dash camera had arrived. When my boyfriend and I went to pick it up we noticed it was already opened and realized the window dash mount was cut out of the packaging which makes me believe that indeed an employee had stolen my camera since that item is a must for the camera to function in a vehicle leaving me to purchase one myself on Amazon for 20.00. I have since filed a police report and a BAR report. This is the most unprofessional and sketchy auto repair shop I have ever given my money to which is A LOT. I will never do business with them again and I highly advise no one else does either.

I am a very proud owner of a 2005 Corvette that was in need of a harmonic balancer replacement. Matt and the mechanics at Copes are all very professional and treated my baby like it was thier own. Extremely happy with the service and my car runs so great now! No more wobble worries for this Vett owner. Also recently had them put an aftermarket exhaust on and it sounds amazing!!!

I can not say enough about Cope's . Great people and took amazing care of my Truck. 10 out of 10 experience. If you need your car or truck fixed this is the place and the people you want to be working on your vehicle. They are super honest and friendly and take pride in what they do.
