Yesterday I stopped by Jiffy Lube because they had forgotten to reset my oil light after my last oil change. While I was there I mentioned I had smelled a burning rubber smell recently so asked them to check it. They said it looked like my transmission was leaking so they referred me to Cottman's. I didn't know they normally require appointments so I just went in yesterday afternoon and explained the situation to the woman at the front desk. The owner was in the back and heard what I said and told her I needed to be moved to the front of the line. If I truly had a leak it was extremely flammable so he wanted them to immediately check it instead of sending me away to come back later because there was a chance my car could catch on fire and he didn't want to risk that happening. A mechanic immediately came and checked my car. After their inspection they said I had a few oil leaks, it wasn't my transmission and I could drive it without risk of it catching on fire. They referred me to the mechanic next door since they don't fix oil leaks there. While I didn't end up getting anything done, I really appreciated their sense of urgency and concern. The inspection they did was free which was nice. If I have any transmission issues in the future (which fingers crossed I don't) I would absolutely come back here.

I felt taken care of by Chris and the team at Cottman - my Corolla ended up not needing any transmission work but they were happy to check the fluid and take it for a drive to make sure my transmission is in good condition. They did not try to sell me on anything I did not need and they were transparent up front about diagnostic costs. Chris had an appointment for me within a few days, I dropped the car off in the morning and it was done by closing that day - clearly they have some great time management and pricing was as advertised. I will be back if the transmission does have trouble.

I am extremely pleased with the gentlemen at Durham Transmission Repair! When I called for DTR's assessment, Jodi explained that he ran diagnostics and took my Jeep for 2 test drives but could find nothing wrong with the transmission. He mentioned that an ABS code popped up which could reflect a faulty ABS sensor and possibly explain why my Jeep was sporadically losing momentum. When I came to pick up my Jeep, I was told there was no charge because they couldn't find anything wrong with my transmission. Service does not get better than this! Professionalism and honesty go a long way. If you have transmission issues, do yourself a favor and go to Durham Transmission Repair!

I just can’t say enough good things about Chris and the team down at Durham Transmission Repair. First off, I took a 1989 Oldsmobile in for a rattle and most shops in the area don’t even want to work on an old car like that. So kudos to them for working on older cars. They used all of their diagnostic tools and imaging to come up with a decision that it was the flex plate (cracked) making the noise. They provided a reasonable estimate and I told them to proceed with the repair. In the end, they got in to multiple hours of work and found that the flex plate was not cracked and not the source of the rattle. They put the entire Transmission back in and even changed the transmission filter/fluid and would not charge me since their original analysis/diagnosis was wrong. They put the customer first! They are looking out for their customers and not trying to take advantage of them. Any of you with transmission repair needs should definitely go see the team down there at Durham Transmission Repair. I’ll be back to see them if any of my other vehicles need transmission repair. Plan to tell all of my friends to go see them as well.

I was given a 9K estimate by a dealership noting my transmission on my 2018 RAV4 was gone and needed to be replaced. 9K well $8551.22 was the estimate 😳🤔. My husband had work done with Durham Transmission before so we had my car towed over. Chris gave us an estimated appointment time. He followed up with my husband and his team took excellent care of my vehicle. You tell my why that 9K job turned into a $361 repair 😳👀. The integrity and honesty on full display at Durham Transmission is outstanding. I thank God for good honest and genuine service still available today. I Praise God for the reliability and genuine honesty being delivered at this place of business. It was truly an amazing experience to be able to see that when you are depending upon people for a service that you can’t perform your self and you clearly have no idea what is happening after you are told one thing. And to be given such honest service by this team of technicians that value people but most of all value themselves. That is amazing.
