Honesty and Integrity are the words here. Our car broke down an hour away from home on a Friday night and had to be towed in. We dropped the key with a note and returned early the following week to pick up the car with a new battery, belt and alternator. Skip told us that if we had any problems, he "would make it right." As luck would have it, the alternator was defective (not their fault). Our mechanic in town called Mr. Couch and as promised, he offered to pay for the labor to replace the alternator. Our check arrived today, in a timely fashion. Though I am not local to Durham, if I ever need anything near there again, I would not think twice about going back. I would absolutely recommend Couch Automotive without hesitation.

I went there to have my 2001 chevy Malibu worked on as the ABS light came on. They said it would 1-2 days at most. 4 days later I call about my car because I haven't been notified. They say it is ready. I pickup the vehicle and driving it home I notice black sharpie marks over the ABS indicator light. I took it to have it scanned at auto zone to find out no it is still broken. All they did was make it look like the light was off. I took it back and it took them 2 days to finally fix it. Avoid this shop They were not professional in how they handled this matter at all. One person being the owner Skip Couch. The other person was the head mechanic Ace. Not worth the time or the money.

They did have my vehicle for just around a month or so...but also partly me...I was out of state and could not pick it up; so they let it sit till I came back. Atm was giving me trouble could only take $200 at a time charge me 4.50 every time.I ended up being 15.85 short and he said no problem. 😃So far it is running really well...love the new clutch. Muffler wasnt properly put back on, lost it ...but it's really no big deal. I would definitely recommend them.

The best service and the most awesome people you will ever find!! They have taken care of me and my car for 5+ years, and I refuse to take my car anywhere else! Skip & Ace remember you by name every time you walk in the door. Unlike other places that try to talk you into doing unnecessary things to your car, the guys at Couch Automotive truly care about you and will even tell you NOT to do something if it's not quite time yet (ie. hold off on changing tires b/c you can get a few more months out of them). I cannot express how happy I've been with their service, how much I trust them with my car, and how much I appreciate their kindness, honesty, and awesome skills!! You will NOT find a place like Couch Automotive anywhere else!

Couch automotive is a local and family owned business. I’ve been taking my vehicles here for service, maintenance and minor repairs. They also do state inspections. Couch Automotive always pays very close attention to detail and prides themselves in quality over quantity. I would not trust anyone else with my automobile repair/maintenance needs.

I definitely experienced quality customer care here. They got my inspection done in no time with no appointment. I also asked them about air-conditioning problems I was having. They rebooted the freon and replaced a part on the compressor to see if the AC could be fixed affordably, but unfortunately that didn't solve the problem. I couldn't afford to pay for a new air compressor, so they reimbursed me for all the work they had already done on my AC which I thought was generous and more than fair. They've definitely earned my trust moving forward!

Got to say some of the best technicians in the business so quick and so helpful. Truly a pleasure that I got recommended to this location. I certainly will not be taking my vehicles anywhere else. I don't know what all vehicles they're great at but they sure as heck know their stuff around a Honda. Highly recommend if you're looking for experts that will treat you fair.

The mechanics over there are very professional!!! Recently, I had car issues. The first diagnosis came from a 5-star mechanic shop, which said the problem was a failed water pump, which had been replaced about one year ago. I had a little doubt about this, so I took my car to Couch, who diagnosed a failed alternator. It was a completely different problem. Later, I replaced the alternator myself, and it fixed the issue.
