No longer offers Coach Care, even though the Cummins websites lists it as doing so.

Not too happy with their service. Three months of waiting is a bit much.

I have had my motorhome serviced by the El Cajon center since it had the separate location specifically for motorhomes. I have always received good service and the work was completed when they promised it. In the past I have brought my gas Onan generator in for repair and I have also had my diesel generator serviced and never had a problem with the quality of their knowledge or work. They have referred me to other service providers, wheel alignment, and these referrals have been to quality repair centers. I highly recommend El Cajon, Cummings Cal Pacific to anyone needing work done on their diesel motorhomes.

Our brand new buses break down all the time!!!! More then our old 20 year old buses ever did! Cummins has the school pay for the towing even though it's under warranty, keeps them for weeks at a time then tells us they couldn't find anything wrong after claiming to have driven them for over 50 miles to re trigger the issue. We check the mile reading and find the bus has only acquired 3 miles since it left the yard... Not 50 like they claimed!

this store might have the best mechanics and service people around.. but i would never know as they do not answer the phone so i cant get ahold of anyone to make an appointment to have my truck recall completed.. time to find another shop to do the work.

I visited Cummins to have an RV generator repaired (recall) and I'm highly satisfied. I called for an appointment and they asked if they could send an email. At first, I was a little put off but the efficiency of answering the questions in writing became clear. Also, the response for scheduling after I submitted the email reply was immediate. I was able to get a desirable appointment time and the experience/customer service from check-in to pick-up was superb.

Terrible place to take an 18 wheeler truck to. They took forever. They ordered 3 parts and had to send one back because it wasn’t the right one. They try to find some reason for you to be mad it seems like. And here for almost TWO WEEKS!!! Not happy at all!!!!

Bad experience at this location. Communication was terrible and way over priced on their service. Seriously 15 hours labor and over $4,000 to repair a small rv generator. I got ripped off big time. I will never do business with these guys again.

I was told Tuesday when dropping off RV, they would diagnose Wednesday. Wednesday I was told they would not be able to get to it until Friday. No explanation. We’re busy. I was also treated dismissively by staff who allowed interruptions while helping me. As a female alone, I do not feel like I am being treated fairly here. But I need my RV generator fixed, so I will edit this post when service is complete. And unbelievable highly priced at almost 300 per hour.

Recently I was traveling from Phoenix to the San Diego area in my diesel motorhome. Halfway there I had an "engine malfunction" light come on. All I wanted was to spend several nice days on the coast without any problems. I decided after two days to call Cummins in El Cajon and see what they thought of the light and error code it sent. Both of us felt it most likely was a NOX sensor but as Jeff from Cummins told me the only sure way was to bring it into their facility and find out. To my first pleasant surprise Jeff told me they could get me in the follow morning at 7:30 a.m. if I wanted. I said yes and made plans to possibly waste one or more days sitting in a repair facility in a strange city rather than doing what I went there for in the first place. I arrived the next morning on time and was greeted by Nick Captan at Cummins in El Cajon. Nick checked me in and gave me an estimate to diagnose the issue. He told me they would do everything possible to get me in and out as quickly as possible. They started on my diagnosis almost immediately and by 10 a.m. had confirmed it was a NOX sensor failure. Nick gave me a full estimate of cost to fix it and told me again they would do it as fast as possible. For all of us who have had this told to us before and then spent days in the facility, all I could do was hope. Nick called me at 1:30 p.m. and told me the repairs had been completed. I was shocked but ever so happy to hear this. I drove back to their facility and after paying my bill left about 2:15 p.m.. The tech who worked on my rig was neat and respectful of the inside as he needed to access the sensor from the rear inside floor of the coach. Yes, the final bill was expensive but isn't everything nowadays? I have spent so many hours and days in repair facilities over my 40 years of RV-ing but this time will be remembered by the good hardworking employees at Cummins in El Cajon Ca.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. My experience with this business was so disappointing. I am absolutely shocked at how they can operate like this. I do not recommend them. I bought my RV in for generator issues. It would cut off after running approximately 20 minutes under load with AC on max in the coach. They charged me nearly $500 for 2 hours of diagnostic work. After I had to call them repeatedly to check the status. They didn't look at it until the following day after my appointment (which wasn't a big deal) but the lack of any communication from them to let me know about the delay or the status, I found to be unprofessional. When I was finally connected with someone who was able to read my diagnostic report to me (not a technician, a customer support role) they said they couldn't find anything wrong and were not able to replicate the problem. They suggested a service that was estimated to cost an additional $700+ . I found it extremely hard to believe they were unable to replicate the issue. I voiced my concern that I felt I was being taken advantage of and questioned whether they had ran it for over 20 minutes. If they charged me for 2 hours or diagnosis.....seemed odd they had zero issue in all the time spent looking for the problem. I paid and left the shop and went to Walmart parking lot and parked and ran the generator and AC while I worked inside for about 20 minutes and the generator cut out again exactly the same as it had leading me to come to this business for help. I was able to start it up and record the entire thing and it cut out once again immediately. I have contacted the person who was in charge of my service and let them know how disappointing it was to be able to so easily replicate the issue with the exact steps I had left with their technicians. I don't believe they spent 2 hours investigating and I feel like I was taken advantage of as a customer. I am hugely unsatisfied. I would not recommend using this place for solutions.

Price gouging at its finest. Was charged $245 an hr for labor. They even charged me 1/2 hr at that rate to do the administrative write up. BS dealer. Questioned him about it and the response was i have to pay my guys. Will never go there again or tecomend them to anyone. Only reason for 2 stars is they fixed the issue with the generator.

Most people have it spot on. I wish I would have read the reviews before taking my generator here. You can pretty much count on starting at $500 just to have them look at it. No matter how long it takes them to diagnose be assured they are gonna charge you for two hours at $245/hr. Then they go off of a book that tells them how long a repair should take. So many hours to replace a fuel pump, carb etc. If it takes the tech that long or not you will be charged that amount. There are better options. Two stars because there was nothing particularly wrong with their customer service. They did have my trailer for two weeks without completely fixing it though and that was with an appointment. I had to pull the plug before they could finish the work or I would have been halfway to buying a new generator. Maybe they are great at working on big trucks but take your generator business somewhere else.

I took my Class B van to Cummins in El Cajon and had a great experience. I had a recall issue which was fixed quickly. I also thought I needed routine maintenance and that I had another problem. They very kindly explained to me what I was doing wrong and no additional repairs or maintenance were needed at this time. I will certainly be going back when the maintenance is actually due.
