The customer service that I experienced was surprisingly poor. This was my first experience with Dave's Canyon Auto and, unfortunately, I was left with less than a positive first impression. The office staff were having a meeting and I seemed to be an interruption to what they wanted to be doing. The young sales clerk asked me for my key and left without explaining fully what was going on. When she came back she walked past me and left me standing at the desk without any explanation as to what the process was or when I should come back and simply went back to her meeting. I could hear their meeting conversation as well and it was clear that I wasn't a priority to them. I just needed to know if I needed to sign or leave my phone number before leaving my car. I signaled someone in the meeting and they sent the original girl back out. She handed me a card full of fields to fill out customer information and left me again for her meeting without any clear instructions of what was needed on the form. I didn't know what information they specifically wanted me to fill out on the form so I just started filling out what I could. Finally, one of the adults from the meeting came out and explained what they needed. I was so surprised by the unprofessionalism of the interaction that I went and told my coworker about it. I share this for their benefit as unbeknownst to them they probably lost two potential future clients over the interaction (me and my coworker). My recommendation to the management would be to train the young sales clerk on basic customer service skills of making the customer a priority and making them feel welcome. Give clear instructions on how your intake process works and learn to care and think about the customer's experience. One of the other adults from the meeting apologized to me when I returned, which I appreciated. When the young girl clearly didn't understand how to treat customers, the adults in the meeting should have paused the meeting to make sure that the customer was taken care of and then continue the meeting once I had left. That would make for a much more professional experience for customers in the future.

Cannot say enough good things about this place. They do great work and great prices. Now that I moved out of state, I wish I could find a mechanic as good as them. But then when I was back in town visiting family and had car problems the day I was meant to drive back home, they went out of their way to help get us back on the road. We bought a car from a dealership they had a CO2 sensor blocker on it The dealership took it down to a third party to pass emissions. They passed the emissions illegally. They won't tell me who conducted the test they're not taking accountability for anything. Yes the dealership is working with us but I would not recommend taking your car there. They refuse to provide any information on the testing even with the title in my name ... Yes I contacted Orem Police and there is an ongoing investigation. And the gentleman I spoke with was very rude and hostile he kept referring to me as a Karen for asking who did the inspection

My truck had an issue where it was jerking while accelerating. Felt like the transmission so I took it to a dealer to get their opinion. They said they couldn't figure it out but recommended a new transmission for $7k. Took it to Canyon Auto and Mike found the issue was cracked spark plugs causing misfires. Diagnosed and fixed within the same day for $400. Great service, fair price, and excellent results. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

I’ve been going to this place for years. And it’s with great sadness I have to write this review, and tell everyone I have referred to this shop to be very careful. I took my car in for a tiny oil gasket leak. They installed a faulty gasket onto my BMW. The gasket leaked profusely. I drove my car for a day and half until I realized. It was smoking like crazy. It had leaked out about 2.5 quarts of oil. I called in and they realized they messed up, paid for my tow, and sealed the gasket. Acted like it was no big deal. Didn’t check to see why it was smoking, didn’t take it for a test drive. Just sealed the gasket. A few weeks later my engine seized. I take it in to Dave’s to get looked at to determine whether the damage could’ve been caused by them not sealing the gasket. First time I call in he says “oh those twin turbo engines” insinuating my car with barely 100,000 miles on it with no significant issues ever, just blew up and he could sell me a motor. Now, I don’t know as much about cars but I know people who do and they told me that was crazy. I tried to work with Dave, but they left me without a car for 2 weeks. They didn’t even look at it. Dave’s ultimate decision was not to open the engine and see if they may have damaged it, and then he told me that running a bmw with 2.5 quarts of oil missing for a day and half wasn’t that big of a deal. I called BMW explained the situation and they strongly disagreed. It’s now going to get worked on at a machine shop and pulled apart and I’ve been told they will most likely find damage related to low engine oil pressure.. If that’s the case I will be pursuing legal action. If it’s not I’ll come back and give this review 1 extra star. But that customer service experience over the last two weeks left a lot to be desired.

Took my car in to get a couple of fluids changed. People there were rude and unprofessional. Walked in and the guy who I assumed was the owner just starred me down like I stole something. Didn’t even greet me. I told him what I needed done and all he did was hand me a sheet of paper and told me to fill it out. I was confused considering no other auto shop has made me do that in the past. I’m halfway through filling it out and he tells me I don’t need to fill it out anymore. He tells me what I need done will not be a problem so I tell him that I’ll just wait in the lobby for till it gets done. He acts surprised and pissed off at the same time even though the shop was empty and nobody was there. I hand him my car key and he just looks at it and yells out “wow” in a very condescending and disrespectful way. I knew people in the auto repair industry weren’t the most professional but most of them had some type of manners. He had no type of manners or professionalism. Surprised they have so many good reviews
