Great experience! Was easily able to discuss the problem with my vehicle, and employees were willing to explain things to me in a way I could understand. Work that was done was on my air conditioning and it was completed quickly and has been working great! Cost was important to me and Dave’s did their best to help save me money and keep the cost as low as they could. Grateful to have found my new repair shop in Austin, TX!

My company has used this company for a couple years. This is my first interaction with them, A/C system is blowing hot when at idle, we take it in for repair they keep the van for 4-5 days no communication. We get the van back and surprise the van is doing the exact same thing THE VERY NEXT DAY after spending 3,700.This is a service van so after being out of commission for 5 days not looking to throw it immediately back into their shop for repair. Our power steering and brakes are having issues couple weeks later so we take it to Austin automotive for repair they get it fixed same day amazing communication, so now here we are 3wks after that repair we are taking it to Dave’s to get the A/C fixed that wasn’t working already mind you before the power steering repair. THE REASON THEY GIVE FOR IT NOT WORKING IS BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING FLUID GOT ON A SEALED FUSE BOX. HERE IS THE KICKER ON THE INITIAL VISIT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO CHANGE THE OIL AND TURNS OUT THEY DID NOT AND THAT IS ALSO THE REASON FOR IT NOT WORKING AN OIL CHANGE. IF THEY WILL DO A COMPANY THAT SPENDS THOUSANDS WITH THEM THIS WAY, HOW DO YOU THINK THEY WILL DO AN EVERYDAY CONSUMER?

I took my car to a prior shop and they quoted me $1700 to replace my entire AC. Cody helped me get my car in and after looking at it, turns out it was a much simpler fix and only cost me $600. Hard to find trustworthy people as they could’ve easily just gone with what the other auto shop said. I’ll be using them for all of my cars now.

I really wanted to like Dave's automotive. They know what they are doing and they have nice customer service, but if you go there, you are going to pay a premium in terms of costs compared with other car repair locations. I paid $1500 to have an alternator replaced and the new one went bad 1 1/2 years later. They installed a replacement for free on a 3 year warranty. Bad parts happen, but I also had a full brake job done on my van and the disks they installed were defective and would begin to warp after about 6 months. I would take it in and they would replace and then I went back in another 6 months. This went on for almost 2 years. Root cause...bad parts from a bad vendor.

Don’t even know where to begin with how incredible of an experience I’ve had at this location. I will never be taking my vehicle anywhere else and will absolutely be recommending them to anyone who needs help with their vehicle. From the moment I called I felt confident that I’d be in good hands and they did not disappoint. As a young woman who knows nothing about cars, they extensively explained in detail all of the ins and outs of my quote and broke things down to make it manageable for me. I appreciated them giving me recommendations on things that would need work in the future with a realistic timeline and not bombarding me to get everything done all at once. They’ve been great with communication, answering any questions, and making sure I was taken care of while they were working on my vehicle. If I could give them more stars I would! Great experience, super friendly and professional! Took my jeep in for an oil change and a lot of routine maintence done I had been neglecting. They were quick and very thorough. Sent me a full breakdown on my inspection with pictures and detailed notes which they walked me through everything very well (without sounding condescending)! Was very transparent on everything absolutely needed and what I could hold off on. They also had a promo going on they applied to help with the cost. Will definitely be my go to spot for my car needs!

Very friendly and Professional. Great responses to any Issue or Questions. The turn around was great, I didn't wait weeks to get my Car back, very fast turn around on getting it back. Always kept me up to date on any issues or problems while they had my Car. They had paperwork with all the break downs of what was done. They were not trying to Over Price me like some places may do. I felt my Vehicle was in great hands and I could trust them. They did a great job on getting me back on the Road again. I will definitely be back when needed and I will definitely Refer others. Anna is an excellent technician. She gave my vehicle a thorough inspection and then talked me through all of her findings do I understood what the priorities are and why. And they don't even charge a diagnostic fee. Excellent experience, I will use their services again in the future.

My car was towed to this shop in November 2024. They replaced two(2&3) of my spark plugs and two ignition coils. Cost was over $500. 3 months later my car back in the shop at a different Dave’s automotive in Pflugerville. The bolts wasn’t tightened after installing my spark plugs and coils causing my car to misfire. So they fix that. 6 months later my car is back in the shop. One of the coils they replaced (#2) is bad. It hasn’t even been a year. I had to pay to get it fixed AGAIN. I will NEVER recommend Dave’s auto service to anyone!

Customer service here is good. Their repairs and approach used to match. However, now they have become expensive and as bad as any other repair shop in pressuring repairs. There is a new manager and that has changed entire dynamics. I no longer trust them. I feel let down unfortunately. They charged me extra for filter for oil change which was supposed to the included. Watch out.

I had a really disappointing experience here. I brought my car in and was told I needed over $2,000 worth of repairs for a front strut assembly and alignment. Something felt off, so I got a second opinion at another shop and they showed me directly in the shop that there was no damage and no repairs were needed at all. It’s extremely frustrating to be given an unnecessary and expensive FAKE diagnosis, especially when many people trust shops to be honest. I’m grateful I double-checked, but not everyone would know to do that. Based on my experience, I can’t recommend this place at all. Always get a second opinion.

Wells Branch location - It's been around three weeks since I picked up my car from this Dave's Automotive. The reason I chose this Dave's location is because they can provide rides to and from your home, if you live within FIVE miles of their shop. I've done business with another closer Dave's, but they could not guarantee rides to and from home. (My friends work during the day or live a good distance from me.) I figured my car would be in the shop more than one day. When my car was ready, the problem with the oil leak and windshield wiper issues were fixed very well. My extended warranty coverage didn't cover certain parts, but I appreciate the fact that Cody did his best to work with my plan. The customer service here is terrific, and the staff is kind and knowledgeable. Their own work warranty is great too. So far, so good. Give them a try. They'll treat you and your car right.

I was charged $159.00 for an oil change. The Toyota dealership only charges $90.00. And not on sale. That's the regular price for an oil change on a 2023 Toyota Venza. The female who assisted me stated that she is a former Toyota employee so I do not believe that she is not aware that I was robbed of about $60.00. I will be calling the news station about high charges at Dave's. Also she was the only employee that greeted me when I arrived that morning. I will never visit there again.

After my experience here, I have to give a solid 5 stars. I previously would go to the Pflugerville location, which was still good, but this location is better for many reasons. First of all, the customer service is insanely good. I had a slew of issues with my 2014 VW Jetta S. Cameron helped me out every step of the way. He explained things to me in a detailed way that made sense, without making me feel overwhelmed or stupid for asking questions. There was constant and clear communication, quick and to the point. Cam also did everything in his power to get me the best price possible. You can tell these guys genuinely care about their clients. (Cam deserves a raise!) 2nd reason this is my favorite location; it’s always easy to schedule next-day appointments. Seriously, I’ve always been able to secure an 8am slot next-day, no matter what time it is when I make the appointment. The Pflugerville location would unfortunately have spots filled up for at least a few days to a week, on average. (No hate towards the Pflugerville location, good folks over there. But go to this one, trust me.) Lastly, they were kind enough to lend me a loaner car to help me get to/from work for a couple days. I have never in my life had a mechanic offer that to me. Thanks so much Cameron, as well as the rest of the staff at Dave’s on Howard Lane. You have earned a lifetime loyal customer!

Had issues with my cars battery and luckily Dave’s was nearby. I was in the middle of my workday and needed help fast. Cameron, walked me through my battery and got me on my way fast and easy. Gave me lots of pointers and advice for maintaining my battery as well. Best experience I’ve had in an automotive shop. If I didn’t live in Dallas, I would bring my truck here every time.
