I recommend Ken with no reservations. Excellent welder. My Panamera wasn’t driving quite “right.” My mechanic suspected this was related to some dents he saw on my wheels. Reached out to German Auto, who recommended Ken. Called on a Wednesday, scheduled for Thursday, picked it up on Friday, just in time for a road trip. Car drives nice and smooth like it’s supposed to, and for a great price. If you need your wheels replaced in Austin, go here. Final comment. Maybe I’m old school, but I quite liked Ken’s company and demeanor. We stood around for 30m after my car was done talking fast cars and old times. He didn’t waste a lot of time on the phone when we scheduled, and I think as a solo business owner, he juggles a lot of balls to turn around jobs quickly. This guy’s cool, trust.

In a recent rainstorm, I encountered a soccer ball size rock that had fallen from a cliff on 2222. My front right wheel took the rock and instantly lost all air and upon removing it, I could see that the wheel was bent in which caused the tire to deflate. I brought the wheel to AWR around 11am Wednesday and it was literally better than new when I picked it up at 4pm Thursday. Would highly recommend these folks if you have a similar situation! (PS. I forgot to take after-images but the wheel really is as good as new and I'm thinking of having my other 3 cleaned by these folks so they all match.)

Absolutely blew me away! I am very meticulous about my car. I had my Stance Wheel repaired here and I cannot even TELL where the repair is. My wheel is a custom, semi gloss bronze. Hard to match....but...It matches the other wheels PERFECTLY! Do yourself and don't go anywhere else.

Ken did a spectacular job truing up my bent forged wheel and refinishing the set to a beautiful Gunmetal grey finish. All 4 wheels refinished, balanced, and mounted, and i had my car back in less than 48 hours. Bent rim fixed with 24hrs. I was told I’d need a new rim and new tire by a dealership. The owner advised my tire is fine and the rim could be fixed no problem. Ken at Austin Wheel Repair does an amazing job. I went to him because I had two scraped rims on my stock 2015 Kia K900. Since they were chrome painted, no other shop could help me out. I called up Ken, he said he could sand them down and repaint them to match and install and balance the tires I had just ordered, all for under $800. To replace the rims alone would have cost that. We decided to play around with colors and came up with a grey-black look, which I like much more on the car than the regular chrome look. Ken may not have the fanciest shop in the best part of town, but he does great work in a decent amount of time and will work with you on the price. I've paid close to $400 in the past to get one rim fixed on a BMW, so compared, his pricing is great. I would definitely recommend him, especially if you have a job that other shops can't fix. I would definitely go back to him in the future (hopefully not lol) to fix curb rash or to put tires on. Give him a call.

Honestly, I had my concerns when leaving my car to get the work done bc of his location but I'm glad I did the work done to my wheels was great! Instead of buying new black Denali wheels for my 2021 Yukon I decided to have my wheels refinished to save time and money. Ken (Owner) is a Blue Collar man. Sure he’s rough around the edges but knows his trade in and out and does AMAZING work !!! He was able to get me in on a moments notice and had an amazing turnaround of only 24 hours which is unheard of these days. My repair was a crack on my wheel after hitting a pot hole at night. My wheels are extremely hard to get and getting a new one was not an option. Ken took his time to take extra precautions not to damage the wheel during removal and reinstalling and when I picked it up it looked like i just took it out of the box. He didn’t have to clean the wheel but he takes pride in his work and pride on making your wheels and their repair story an extension of his business and skill set. I will 100% refer him to everyone I know that is in need of his service and I am definitely a life long customer!

There are very few places in Austin to have your rims repaired onsite. Last autumn, a mechanic referred me to this place. Ken responded via text and gave me a quote for 1 rim that was slightly bent and causing vibrations at high speeds. He finished the job on time with a pretty quick turnaround and sent pics as requested. He is nice and also very direct. His small shop can be a little confusing to find at first. Anyhow, the side that the rim was repaired runs smooth like butter. The vibration is still present but on the other side so will need to save that for another day. Before and after pics for reference.
