Their 36 month warranty is a fabrication. They sold me a cracked radiator that failed in less than a year. Then they want to charge me more to replace their broken part.

Had a super smooth and easy experience at Dave’s. I bought my vehicle two months ago and already got a flat. I changed the flat myself and discovered the previous owner, or their mechanic cross threaded one of the lug nuts, so the lug nut and stud were ruined. I live two blocks from a Midas that I’d never been to on 40th and Guadalupe, so I took it there. They quoted just under $500 to replace one stud, one lug nut, and to patch the hole in the flat tire. That was obviously way too much for such a minor repair, so I got my car back, and looked for another shop near me. Dave’s had great reviews, so I called them up. They quoted me $212 for the same work. Sold! They were busy, but said they could take care of me in the morning. I scheduled an appointment for the next morning, but went ahead and dropped my car off just in case they got a chance to work on it earlier. I got lucky and they knocked out my repair the same day! And for a bit less than they quoted me! I’ll definitely be going back to Dave’s next time I need some work done and I highly recommend you do the same. Thank you to Deon, Tony, Ike, and everyone else who made this a positive experience!

Update: The regional manager contacted me after the review was posted and was very helpful. He addressed the problem at that location and sent me a check the next day for the replacement parts I bought and installed myself. Good guy. I’d try one of their other locations again. Unfortunately, the mechanic forgot to tighten the locking screws for the radiator support splash shield when he put it back on and it fell off on the way home. Two cars ran over it. I called after the 4th and let them know and could they help. They did offer to put the broken one back on. I was under time constraints, so I was okay with that. Also, i expecting them to buy a replacement part ($100). While I watched the mechanic reinstall the broken one, he again forgot to tighten the locking screws. I pointed it out, as I was under the car to watch. He didn’t seem to understand, I snapped one into place myself and said that’s why this fell off in the first place. He also installed one clip wrong and had to fix that. I ended up asking for the replacement part since this one was cracked in several places now. They said no. I said ‘you aren’t going to take responsibility?’ They said no. I suggested I don’t go around trying to scam auto shops out of $100 plastic car parts and that I’d worked on cars for over 30 years. It was my favorite newly found shop for me and my wife. We will never return after seeing the lack of skill and quality control, and lack of responsibility for the problem they caused. I ordered the part myself and will install the new one myself on my dime and time. Seemed odd they would lose two happy customers over their lack of ownership of their own work and mistake.
