Received estimate to replace valve cover gasket on my Jaguar. Agreed to price, then when it gets in shop price goes up 60 percent. Problem never fixed still leaks oil from valve cover. You are better off taking your car to jaguar dealership. They charge dealer rates once they start the work. Offer cheaper rates then dealer to get you in the door.

Very Professional service! Not many shops in Richmond will take Mercedes, even some German auto repair shops. David Word took it with no problem. If you have any really specialty needs, I highly recommend David Word. They also worked with me on the price. 5 stars across the board. I'll be back (hopefully not soon though!)

Easy-going and personable staff but are misleading with their estimates. After we had already verbally agreed on a price, setting up an appointment, making arrangements to drop off the car, and taking time off work, they upcharged me by 60% for major maintenance, and 40%, for routine maintenance, causing a lot of confusion, back-and-forth conversations, and ultimately a big inconvenience. Really nice people but a headache to deal with.

man, I been coming to this company for years as a woman its hard to find shops that you can trust, from the first day I came to this shop when Lou was there he made me feel comfortable just off of day one and every since then I don't go to no other shop to do major work on, they know me pretty well with my 2008 ford edge & now 2011 ford edge, the best automotive shop in town I always recommend anyone to this shop that's just how great they are !!!

Best Auto Repair Shop in the State of Virginia and possibly the East Coast. For over 25 years David Word has helped me with all of my vehicles. I went in for a repair and he found out it was under the manufacturers warranty he would send me to the dealer where it was no charge. Honest, dependable, reliable with integrity, they stand by their work and their WORD.

I was referred by a mechanic I trust who said you may be willing to do the work. I called ahead and had my car towed there after you assured me you would be able to take a look at it. The tow truck company ripped my bumper off, and you called me at 7:23 AM to tell me it was too damaged for you to work on. It’s understandable that you’re not willing to do the work. It had some vandalism prior to the bumper being ripped off. I just wanted to see if the brakes could be fixed so I could repair the rest of it. But you called me before normal business hours, and were extremely rude. When I called you back to let you know what the status was, and that I had to get my insurance involved, you were more rude. You said it needs a scrap heap and hung up on me. No worries, the tow is already scheduled as I type this. Clearly you’re doing well enough that polite customer service is not a concern for you. I‘ll pass that on, and I’ll pass on future business with you.

David Word Automotive is the best mechanic I’ve ever experienced. They do quality work, they’re honest and transparent about what is needed with your car and how much it costs, and they have fantastic customer service. I had bad luck with 3 nails in the same tire over 2 months. The second required a new tire. The third was only 2 weeks later. They felt bad and went out of their way to file for the warranty for the tire. They kept me informed along the way and sent me the refund check in the mail. On many occasions my wife has picked up our vehicles during the day while I’ve been at work, and they have picked her up to and from so she didn’t have to walk or use an Uber. I can’t exaggerate the upstanding quality of business. Finding a good mechanic can be an uneasy process. David Word is exactly what anyone would want and more.

They communicate well, from making an appointment to explaining what needs to be done and why. I took my car to David Word Automotive to have them check out an engine light on my 2003 Ford Taurus. Car troubles are one of the most frustrating problems to have, but David and his team's service-minded repair shop made my frustrations disappear. They did this in both small and big ways, from Danny's friendly smile and conversation to getting a ride from Dicky after dropping my car off so I could get to work. The team is top-notch. I brought my 2009 Mercedes benz car in for 02 sensor replacement. I get a call from the shop stating the upper 02 sensors did not fit and they only installed the lower 02 sensors. When I opened the pack I discovered that the sensors were not placed on the car and I was charged $300.00 gave me the brand new parts back after I was told they were placed on. The parts were not used they were the same parts I brought.
