Avoid this place. Dude who answers the phone is absolutely horrible and bitter. How do you expect to gain customers if you're going to be that rude? Never going here ever again! AAA should be ashamed to have a shop like this be on their approved shops list!

I'm sure they're capable technicians, but they oversell jobs. Seems they want to replace more than is necessary or they won't do the job. Not illegal by BAR standards, but unethical.

I needed to have our car checked to reregester it as a salvaged vehicle with DMV. I was impressed with Mr Thornton's knowledge. He was recommended by my mechanic as the place to go for these type of inspections.

Seemed trustworthy and actually jad some work done but i took my bmw in for a minor leak and he said i needed a new radiator and a couple new hoses ok.... He (jamie) said we're looking at a minimum of 1,600$!!! This is ridiculous taking into account that i can buy the parts for 500$ will never go back if hes going to charge me a grand for labor. Find a new mechanic before this one bankrupts you. Oh and p.s. i managed to find a mechanic who did the same job and he said i was being ripped off and i only spent 750$ he saved me 1000$ and a huge migraine. DO NOT TRUST THEM. BUYER BEWARE

Jamie the owner took me for a ride (no morals), my truck only needed a smog certificate, but convinced me to replace the EGR, a good working EGR just needed couple hoses and hooked up, but I was desperate to pass smog. His so called mechanic broke the EGR housing and charged me for it $1100 in labor, I drove 200 miles to buy the new EGR housing because he was quoting me double. Charged me $230 for diagnostic which never applied to the total cost.. a simple smog check costing $2100 and weeks in his shop. BS!! JAMIE LOVES TO SELL FEAR THIS GUY WILL TAKE ALL HE CAN SO PLEASS BEWARE...

They did some work for us on an old van including replacement of the battery. A year later the battery ended up dead after the van sat for a month or two. All of the shops near me said the battery couldn't be recharged and needed to be replaced. I called Jamey about it and he said to bring it in. He was able to re-charge the battery and did everything he could to track down what might have drained the battery. The mystery was never solved but the van is working again and I appreciate all that they did to sort things out.

Horrible service, my car was returned to me with scratches on the dash and my breaks where still squeaking very loudly. On top of that when they gave me my car back, the car wasn't starting like it usually does. Only good thing about the place is, Thornton was a pretty cool dude.

Called AAA at midnight with overheating explorer and they towed me here. Expected the worst, but was pleasantly surprised. Jaime offered other needed work which I couldn't afford, but he fixed the real problem the next day for not much $, a leaking coolant plug, so I could get it home. Much thanks DT!

I took a car I was thinking of buying to Dikes-Thornton Automotive due to a recommendation and found them honest, professional and well worth the money spent. I did not buy that car! I am taking another car into them tomorrow for a once over, maybe this one will pass their standards. As a women. I have been taken advantage of and lied too so often it was refreshing to get straight answers. Thank you!

Honest and fair. Sad that these two words are no longer used when describing a repair facility. But not here. This place should bottle it and sell it to those who don’t know. I had the misfortune to suffer a breakdown. Late at night. Just rolled into town. Had my truck towed here sight unseen. Trusted their AAA rating. Did not disappoint. Had my vehicle all day. Couldn’t find anything wrong, so he didn’t charge me the full minimum diagnostic fee accossiated with it. Lost art this honesty thing.

They fixed my Toyota that needed one coil on plug, and used good parts, but $500. For this little job was abusive in my estimation.

We had our vehicle worked on indirectly through him, but I personally talked to him later both on the phone and in person. He was polite to me both times, fun to talk to, and sympathetic to our situation. I only give four stars, cause I did see their prices and it's a bit steep and out of my price range. For example, smog is over $80 versus where we usually go, which is under $60.

Jayme , the owner of Dike Thornton and staff worked diligently on my Audi. I’ve dealt with my fair share of automatic shops even direct through Audi service.I can send you the public of Ventura and surrounding areas, this business is bar none the Best Automatic shop, I’ve EVER dealt with! Their team their owner work together to save you money in ways you don’t see from companies now days and is a Shame. But this business deserves a five 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Review on Service excellence and has been open for over 20 years serving in our local community in all the ways a business should operate, in lending a helping hand and not looking for more in-needed work. Jayme and his staff are of true excellence in their work. And I’d recommend them a 1000 times over for the service they showed. I already begun my task of spreading the world to our 5 star local business. If you have any questions on automotive this is Exactly where you should go to find patience in their work and alleviate your automotive needs. - If you question my review my few reviews has landed me an opportunity to work direct with Google on writing direct review for them. I did not accept the wonderful offer. I am also a business owner and know the struggles. I own our 1st Real Estate Branch in the Ventura Village Harbor #206B. With our markets shifting it’s a hard field let alone start a business. But I true belief that it’s our community and the support we give each-other is what make the business’s not just survive but thrive. I’m truly Thankful for Dike Thorton’s and the honest work he constantly places our community’s best interest at heart and his business gives mine hope. When you do good for others it comes back to you!
