Popped a tire on my pick up truck this morning. Don's was the closest place I could safely get to. The staff was super friendly and straightforward. I was in and out within an hour for a great price.

Top notch service. These guys are great to work with, have fair prices and get things done when they say they will. If you need work done on your car, I would highly recommend Don's Garage. They have always treated me right.

Brought in a 5r110w transmission built by another company. They found multiple issues and were instrumental in helping me get the other company to offer a full refund to me. I then had them build the transmission the correct way and it has been running perfect! Very fair, knowledgeable and attentive.

I had a flat tire at work about 30 minutes before they closed. I called to see if I could bring it in. They were so kind on the phone and ended up staying open a few minutes later just so I could get there. The mechanic was very nice and able to patch up my tire. I was on my way in no time. This shop and people that work here had my back when I really needed it. That's priceless.

Amazing service! I had the wheel break off of an old camper I was pulling. These guys were the only place nearby who would even consider trying to help me, and they got it fixed same day! They also recommended a great local tow truck to come grab the camper he was reasonably priced and super fast! I can’t recommend these guys enough!

Garret is the best mechanic I’ve ever had, and I’ve had many all over the country. Respectful, thoughtful, and kind. Does the work without the upsell, and meets customer needs letting you know how and why things need to be done—and gives options if you’re on a budget. He also lets you know improvements that may not be absolutely necessary, but that could improve performance, making very clear what should be optional and what is necessity. Additionally, the shop staff seems to treat customers of various stripes with the same respect every time I’ve been there while they’re helping others. An example that impressed me was when a trans-woman came in and the staff were walking her through the reasoning behind the work meticulously, using her proper pronouns, and not being uncomfortable, strange, or overcompensating with masculinity. Although I know that such basic decency and respect should be considered a low bar, that behavior is rare in the context of mechanics (especially small businesses) and should be lauded. Rest assured that these folks truly serve a diverse clientele (LGBTQ+, racial diversity), so you shouldn’t hesitate or dread going to them for your repair and maintenance needs. Lastly, they have a sweet old black lab shop dog named Chunky—she’s worth a visit on her own ;)

If you’re looking for a company who will take the time to explain repairs, is transparent and honest, go see Don’s Garage!!! I had, hands down, THE BEST experience with Garrett!! Long story short, I had another company do some transmission repairs for me in another part of Colorado. I was still hearing a noise I didn’t like and was about to set off on a long trip. I was referred to Garrett. He made time out of his busy day to see me right way, he took extra time to answer questions and concerns I had, and he went above and beyond to double check to make sure my car was safe for a long road trip! Garrett eased my concerns. He is the type of person who, above all else wants to do a good job and see to it that his customers are happy!! Go see Dons Garage…you won’t be sorry!!

I am in Kansas City, my daughter goes to school in Denver. Midas told my daughter that she needed close to $1500 in repairs. We had her take it to Don's and what an amazing job. Midas said her shocks and struts were leaking (They were not) she needed new front brakes(she has 50% left on them), new rear brakes (we knew this) and a brake fluid flush ($149.99). Obviously they tried taking advantage of a situation and a young female. Don's verified that her shocks/struts were fine, front brakes were at 50% and replaced the rear brakes and no brake fluid flush was needed. Knowing she was a college kid they were able to get her car in and done quickly for a fair price ($200 less then Midas for the rear brakes). It's hard to find a mechanic you can trust, especially when you are 600 miles away. I would recommend Don's to anyone!

I cant believe a quality shop like this still exists in todays world! I have a 63 Cadillac and am very particular on when I'd take it to be worked on. Another shop who does Classic cars referred me to Don's to work on my transmission & driveline. We scheduled the appointment, I dropped the car off, and these guys actually took the time to figure out the REAL problem and made honest suggestions of what action to take to resolve the problem. So many other shops just throw new parts and $$ at a problem hoping it fixes it. I went with their advise and the problem was fixed! They even went a step further and cleaned up a couple other small things while they were under the car.. I've never had another shop take the time to do that without charging me an arm & a leg. The price was more than fair for the work they put into my car. These guys are over an hour away from my house and are worth every bit of time and money to get my car worked on by them! I'll be a customer for life and will be referring anyone I know that needs work done. Thank You to the whole team at Don's!

I've been going to Garrett now for probably 6 months and I've been extremely satisfied. There have been several instances where he could have just had me throw money at my truck, but he doesn't operate that way and has really earned my trust. He is fair, honest, and responsive. I don't know many shops that have almost perfect reviews, but add my five stars to the list! Work performed: Allison transmission and torque converter rebuild among some smaller things. Top notch service.

Work with someone buy the name of Garrett, he was awesome and honest with me the whole time, this is the place you want to come for professionalism in this industry. After I got my car back it shirted smooth and strong I never thought I would enjoy my car as much as I enjoy it now. I went in for a transmission rebuild and I wanted to install a transmission cooler when Garrett seen there was no where to mount it he didn't just give up he had an alternative for me witch was awesome. Overall I felt like a kid playing with his Christmas presents on Christmas Day! I will definitely be bring my vehicles to dons for future repairs

I didn't have a positive experience with Don's Garage. I had my transmission replaced from a T400 to a 4L80E. When I got the car home I had a vibration when driving it. I took the car and driveshaft to Garrett to check the balance and told everything was good. Garrett uses a driveline shop near his shop for driveshaft work. After 3 months of hauling the car back to the shop and multiple trips with the driveshaft, I finally took the driveshaft to a different shop. The driveshaft was so hacked up from the shop Garrett uses, I decided to have a new one built for $550.00 after paying Garrett $600 for the hacked up driveshaft. I asked Garrett to reimburse me $300 which I thought was more the fair on my part. The frustrating part was not only multiple trips back and forth, I was told the $300.00 check was in the mail. After waiting a month, I had to drive back to his shop (2 hours round trip), to pick up my check. When you tell me the check is in the mail, put it in the mail.

I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while. Just before the holidays, my car fell apart on me. The wheel detached, and the undercarriage was on the pavement. I’m no auto expert, but it looked pretty bad. Thankfully, Garret and Don’s Garage turned what could have been a nightmare into a surprisingly positive experience. I initially chose this shop because they were prompt, polite, and welcoming on the phone. They even stayed a few hours after closing on a Friday to receive my car from the tow company. By midday Monday, they had diagnosed the issue and provided a quote that was far lower than I had braced myself for. Though they needed to order a part, the work was completed by midday Tuesday. Upon my request, Garret gave me an honest recommendation to address the same issue on the other side but made it clear there was no pressure to proceed, knowing I was on a tight budget. After considering his advice, I decided to move forward, and they completed the additional work by the next afternoon, even throwing in a free oil change for being a new customer. Throughout the process, they were transparent, respectful, and never upsold unnecessary services. They answered every call promptly and thoroughly explained all the details. One FYI I’d offer is that there’s a service charge for credit card payments, so paying with cash or a money order can save you a bit. Thank you, Garret and Don’s Garage, for making a rare, stress-free vehicle maintenance experience. I’ll be recommending your shop to anyone in need of auto work.

The bad experience continues, the transmission control module Garrett put in my classic car for a 4L80E he built and installed, was so outdated the transmission couldn’t be tuned so a new module had to be purchased. The bad experience continues with Don’s garage. Terrible experience from beginning to end.

I was referred to Don's by a friend and boy am I glad that happened. They were awesome and very fair. They took the time to show me exactly what was wrong with my transmission and gave me options that fit into my budget. You should definitely at least give these guys a call.
