This is the only shop that I completely trust without question. Great people, great customer service and great quality work. They won't let it leave the shop until totally satisfied that whatever problems are fixed and if in the rare chance that something arises after it leaves, they make it right. No hidden costs or "gotcha" pricing.....everything is stated upfront. I was referred to DTP by a coworker and have since referred several people myself. Also, they offer a 15% military/veteran discount on labor, which speaks volumes in and of itself. Nothing but praise to say of this place and the people. Very highly recommend and if you have a Powerstroke, this is the only place it should go.

Best experience ever! we were traveling through and my truck was making a strange noise. I thought it was my turbo, so he could have easily charged me for a new turbo but instead he spent an hour diagnosing the real problem and determined it was ok to drive and sent me on my way. extremely courteous to my family and very honest people. I would take future work to him if I lived in the area.

This team is absolutely fantastic. We found them to be very knowledgeable about our diesel engine and since we were traveling in our motorhome they did their best to figure out the problems and get us on our way. They were so accommodating and let us stay in our motorhome while they made the necessary repairs and got us back on the road. We found them to be very reasonable and honest and highly recommend this talented and conscientious team. We are so grateful for the great work they did and for their hospitality while we were there.

The guys at DTP are awesome. I brought my truck in with coolant pouring out on a Friday evening. They found the parts, had them delivered and installed for me that same Friday so I wouldn't be stranded. This is the third vehicle I've brought to them and they always offer great service at a fair price. Side note - none of my vehicles have been diesels so dont let the nake fool you.

I had just came to town and my truck just died. When I called and talked to the friendly folks at DTP they were very helpful in recommending a wrecker service and found the problem with my truck and had it fixed the same day. I was very pleased with their pricing and honesty. Would recommend to any who need diesel work done.

I run a business here in Amarillo, and we have a fleet of diesel trucks of different makes, motors etc. everything from CAT motors, to Internationals, to 3/4 ton fords. I have used just about every diesel mechanic in town, and have been screwed in more ways than I can count. Finding DTP has been a godsend!! These guys are extremely knowledgeable, affordable, and fast!!! I learned more about my truck in a two minute sit down with them, than I have in years collectively with other mechanics. They shot me straight, explained in detail everything that needed repaired and why, as well as other repairs that might arise with cause and effect. They also walk through and show me in person, parts that were repaired, removed, etc, and offered all of my old parts back to me. The first time I used them, they got my truck in for a major repair the next morning, and worked late to have the job completed by that evening. The price for the job ended up being over $5,000 less than the lowest quote I received from other mechanics in town, and my truck runs and drives as promised. To the "T". They will have my business for life! Needless to say, they have my respect, and my recommendation to anyone in need of diesel, or automotive repairs.

By far the best diesel shop I've been to! These guys know their engines! Had my 6.0 Ford Excursion in four different shops and no one correctly diagnosed the problem until I went here. Unlike many people believe here in Amarillo, there is more then one diesel shop and in my opinion this one is the best! These guys seem to really care about their work. Very professional and very reasonable prices. Just thankful to have found a shop that I can trust to do good and honest work!

Passing through on a thousand mile trip my Cummins began acting very strange to say the least. A different shop said a $5500 repair was needed. Tyson informed me that he located some exposed wires and took care of it. We continued the journey without an issue. These guys are an honest, reliable, old school type shop that finds the problem and fixes it without any hassle. Thank you

While traveling through Texas, the turbocharger on my Chevy Duramax failed. The original turbo was replaced with a remanufactured turbo. I got about 100 miles down the road, and that turbo also failed. The second breakdown was in Amarillo, Texas. After searching for a repair shop with good reviews, I was fortunate to find DTP. They proved to be a great choice and made every effort to get the turbo replaced and back on the road as quickly as possible. I was able to return to Arizona without any further problems and am completely satisfied with the work that they did. My thanks for the fair pricing and excellent customer service. I recommend, without any reservation, DTP for diesel repair in the Amarillo area.

Highly recommend DTP Diesel. Daniel knew exactly what was wrong with my truck and had it fixed in less than 4 days. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be using them again in the future.

5 stars is not enough!!!!!! Tyson and Daniel went way above and beyond for me on this one. I went to them with my 97 f350 for the lifter pump going out. The new pumps and I mean pumps were faulty from factory, NOT DTP fault at all. They replaced the pump as always very fast and reasonably priced with the repair. The new pump went out so they replaced it under warranty no problem. Where they started to shine was when I was dragging my travel trailer out of town. I'll be darned if the pump went out again. I called them and they went WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND!!!!! first off they apologized 2nd off they had a tech bring a loaner truck out to me (luckily they had a truck that could haul my trailer) they took my truck back and fixed it yet again. This time going a little further into it. Fixed it again they found that the pumps they were getting were faulty and replaced with different brand. This is the customer service that is very rare to come by. I have nothing but praise for these guys and they have made me a life long loyal customer.

These guys are great they really helped me in a pinch and got me back on the road. Very affordable and even gave me a ride to my motel. When I picked my truck up they had it hooked up to my trailer and ready to go. Thank you guys for the great service.

If I could give this shop zero stars, I would. My mom brought her truck here this morning after being stranded in Amarillo. The sheriff and tow truck driver recommended this place, so we trusted their word. After 4 hours without an update, my mom called to check on the status of her truck. The front desk person assured her they’d call her back shortly. Another 2 hours passed with no communication, so she called again. This time, the front desk person put the mechanic on the phone, who was unbelievably rude. He accused her of being "impatient" and told her to come pick up her truck and take it somewhere else. My mom is stranded, stressed, and just trying to get back on the road to avoid missing more work. This kind of dismissive and unprofessional behavior is unacceptable, especially for a business that comes highly recommended. If they couldn’t help her in a reasonable timeframe, they should have set realistic expectations or communicated clearly, instead of adding to an already difficult situation. Avoid this shop if you need reliable service or basic customer respect.

DTP provided my truck with the final repair in a six day long ordeal with its fuel system. Wednesday saw me make an emergency stop in the northern part of Texas after my truck's check engine light came on at the same time that it gave a message about the engine power being reduced and that the fuel filter needed to be replaced. The first shop changed out the fuel filter, and about 20 miles down the road their was a new "change fuel filter" message. Engine power was still good, though. I pressed on to my destination for the night without any further issue. In the morning on Thursday, on the strong suggestion of a friend who is a mechanic, I took the truck to the dealership in the town where I was and postponed my return trip, which inclueded picking up a horse to haul back home to Washington state. The parts needed for the repair that the dealership diagnosed were unavailable until Friday. So, I stayed an extra day, and after the repair was completed, I went to get the horse and started for home. About four hours into the 31-hour journey home, the original problem (check engine, reduced power, replace fuel filter) was back. But, it was after 8 pm, so no shops were open. Saturday, I went to a few places, but they were either dealing with other travelers with unexpected repairs or weren't equipped to or lacked the desire to deal with my diesel pickup. Friday night, when I dropped the horse at a horse motel, the proprietor of the horse motel gave me a recommendation of a local shop that he characterized as "the place in Amarillo" for diesel pickup repairs (DTP), but they were closed for the weekend. So, I hung out in Amarillo Saturday and Sunday and took the truck to DTP Monday morning. Within two hours, they had a diagnosis for me, an estimate, and a timeline that included another night in Amarillo. Within 26 hours of my dropping my truck off at DTP, I was back in my truck and readying to get back on the road, not without trepidation, mind you. I need not have worried. The remaining 27ish hours of driving passed without further incident, and I am home now. I did not get the names of the technicians who did the work, but when I asked questions, they were patient and explained to me in ways that I could understand. They also found an issue with one of my u-joints and replaced it. And Jossalin (I hope I remembered that spelling correctly) at the front desk offered assistance getting me wherever I might need to go from the shop and explained the logistics of the parts reaching the shop in full detail. I can not say enough good things about this shop. If you have a diesel pickup and are not taking it to DTP for its care and maintenance, I would have to ask you why you aren't.

Came to Amarillo on business and the power steering pump went out on my Dodge Ram 2500 diesel 4wd while on the road here. DTP was recommended to me by a business associate, and he was 100% on point! The folks here were prompt in getting me in, helped me get back to my hotel, and loaned me a truck so I could still work while they repaired mine. That pump caused more issues with other components, and they kept me apprised of the whole situation as they went. Had it repaired and running great the next day, and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them if the opportunity ever arises. GREAT bunch folks and I appreciate what they did for me.

⭐️ Zero stars if I could. Save yourself the headache and avoid this shop. We didn’t choose them—our car was sent here after another company damaged the engine during an oil change, and we were told we had to use this shop for the replacement. If I had known what we were in for, I never would have agreed. The engine they installed was refurbished and done so poorly that we’ve continued having major issues for over a year. A thermostat they added failed, hoses weren’t clamped properly, screws were missing throughout the engine, and the overall work was careless. Another mechanic later confirmed multiple problems with the installation. Communication was also terrible. The front desk staff seemed confused about basic details and follow-ups, and getting any clear answers was next to impossible. We’ve spent more time and money fixing their mistakes than it would have cost to do the job correctly the first time. I strongly recommend taking your vehicle somewhere else.
