Took my car in yesterday for inspection which they failed my car. Told me I need rear break shoes and the estimate was $200.00, front headlamp bulb $35.00. Went to walmart, got the bulb for $6.00. Took my car elsewhere to get a second opion on the break shoes, guess what, they passed! Not only did they try to take advantage of me, they were rude. 3 people (2 men, 1 woman) sitting in the front office. The man sitting in the very front behind the counter was disrepectful. I will not go back, nor do I recommend this repair shop. Especially if you're a woman. I noticed while waiting for my car, the men that came in were greeted with a much happier and respectful tone than the women. The men working there appear to be in their 60's. Maybe they are just "old school", however, when you work with the public everyone needs to be an equal!

Another quality repair at Dunkum's Tire and Auto. I had some issues with a stumble on my Mercury Mariner, I took it in to get looked at with 207,000 miles expecting the worse news. Was told and shown that a mouse had chewed up the air intake filter and the debris clogged up the mass air intake sensor causing my issues. Cleaned it and new air filter and now runs like new again. I have been coming here for 15 years and won't take my personal vehicles anywhere else. Honest and friendly staff

I have been taking my Colorado pickup truck, my wife's Buick Lucerne, our son's Impala, our daughter's Vibe and our other daughter's Mustang to Dunkum's for many years now. They are honest, straight forward, careful and great mechanics. Often the advice I get is--"you are going to need rear brakes the next time you come in for an oil change. But keep an eye on your braking in the meantime". They are great at trouble-shooting and their prices are competitive. I never get services that I don't need or don't want. In addition, they are nice guys with families and they care about their work and their customers.

I was promised a great ride after changing out my Mud and Snow tires on my Jeep Wrangler. Wow, what a difference. Handling, quietness, smooth ride, no rattles...exactly as I hoped for at a competitive price. Great work and they lived up to the promise

I switched to this garage after a change of ownership where I had been going for years. I have cars that are 10+ years old so a mechanic can always find things to fix. I need a mechanic who exercises discretion and can advise me what needs to be done vs. what would be nice to do. These guys could have sold me several hundred dollars of repairs but they didn't because these fixes were not needed in my situation. I trust them and I'm not going back to my former garage.

Honest and reputable shop. I took a rust bucket truck in to have some work done that it badly needed. Rather than take my money and have me throw good money after bad, they put it up on the rack and showed me all the things wrong with it. Probably saved me from starting a huge money and part pit. They've serviced my 09 Accord and even my 86 Porsche 944. They are very upfront about what they can do and are willing to do. If they don't feel comfortable doing something, they refer you over to another shop that may specialize in exhaust, etc. Labor rate is reasonable and the work has been very good so far. Try them. Don't get mad though if your car is old and needs work. You should expect that.

I blew a tire on I-85, and didn’t have the key for the locking lug nuts. To top it off, the tow company dropped me at the wrong location. BEST MISTAKE EVER. The staff at Dunkum’s were very polite, honest and upfront about the pickle I was in, and they did everything they could to help me out, including calling a nearby shop which specializes in euro cars and organizing me being transferred to their shop. Give these folks all of your business, as I am from out of town and can’t make them my only mechanic. 12/10 would have a flat tire in front of this shop.

I have to edit my review and bring my rating down. Today I am not a happy customer. My husband has used this service for decades. I began to use them when he and I got together 8 years ago. The last 3 jobs we had done were big jobs. 2 before the one they just did they made mistakes on. The first was a full radiator replacement on our van, part of the car that was mostly cosmetic plastic barrier wasn't put back on. We didn't even notice honestly until we got a call from the shop to bring the car back so they could put it back on. No big deal. No safety issue, they saw the problem and made it right. 2nd was an alternator on our car that was a beast to get to. In the process the horn was disconnected to get to the alternator. My husband drives the van, I drive the car. I work at home and rarely drive so it took a few weeks to notice that I didn't have a horn. I noticed when someone traveled into my lane of traffic and I couldn't warn them I was there. My child was in the car. We contacted the shop and they immediately made it right which is why they got the opportunity to do the 3rd big job for us this year. I however was not leaving the shop this time until I knew everything was right. The van had a huge job with a strut the threw a rod or something. It was freakish and uncommon. When my husband and I went to get the vehicle today it sounded funny when the car was started. There was a metallic rattling that wasn't there before. I asked for someone to come hear it. As the car had been running for a bit it stopped. We were talking about what was done on the car and I mentioned that when my husband first noticed the rattling sound I thought it was because the hood and the front end don't look like they sit right any more. I didn't say that the shop did anything to those. Dave (the owner) got defensive and pissy and was like "well we didn't even take that off or do anything with it so whatever." I didn't say they did. I said it doesn't sit right. I didn't like his tone (I didn't know he was the owner, I had only met him one other time my husband usually deals with the shop) I went inside to complain and the person inside went to page the owner and then told me that was who was at my car. Why are you getting an attitude with a customer? Were you mad that I stopped to make sure things were right before we left because the last 2 times we gave you big jobs to do we had to come back to get something fixed? I can promise this. That was the last big job from me. I told my husband he can take his vehicle back if he wants but I will not.

Our company has been using Dunkum's for our fleet vehicles for many years. We are lucky enough that if we need our cars serviced Dunkum's will work on ours as well, even inspect it! They helped me out yesterday overcome a heart attack. My water pump went bad along with the serpentine belt and I lost all my coolant and my car was hardly moving. You can't beat their pricing or their customer service. I have had a lot of issues with my car and they are always right on top of it. Don't go anywhere else until you try Dunkum's Tire & Auto Services. They are the best of the best! The two low ratings I read on here make me laugh. People are downing this company for finding what is wrong during their inspection. Do they want this garage to loose their licence. They may have gone elsewhere first but maybe that garage missed something. I will always rely on Dunkum's.

Today it was just a quick and easy inspection, but what I've liked about them in the past was them helping me to prioritize what needed to be done on an old car that had quite a few issues. They are honest and easy going and I had a really nice and comfortable place to wait, quiet, comfortable armchairs, TV and Wifi.

Dunkums is the best. David and the crew work on my personal vehicles and the fleet at my job. They are always up front, fair and honest. I highly recommend for any automotive work, including state inspections

I visited Dunkums for the first time to get a new valve stem on my partners car. Walking in, I was greeted and the energy was good. I told them what I was there for and luckily, they had time to fit me in. I know this was a smaller job but they were great at keeping me informed and educating me about the TPMS sensors and such. I appreciate the conversations and help with the car.

I needed a tire plugged and chose Dunkum's simply because it was close to where I was. I'd never been before. They took me almost right away and had a little trouble fixing the tire so it took a little time. I sat in the waiting room and had the opportunity to watch the way they interacted with each other and with their customers. They seemed to know everyone. I mean really know their customers. I was so impressed with the way this little family business conducted itself. Although the wait was long, it wasn't unreasonable. The owner went above and beyond and I appreciated it so much. I believe I found the shop that will handle all of my automotive needs in the future.

Very Trustworthy, professional, accommodating & they know how to fix what needs to be fixed! Fair & reasonable. They Even serve cookies & Donuts when I have come! They seem like a happy team & I like supporting this business as I trust them completely & appreciate their honesty, ethic, & quality service. They all have been nothing but pleasurable to work with since day 1! Whenever I have car trouble they are always who I call! I love that they don’t make me feel clueless as a female. They communicate well with what could be fixed & what my options are which i always appreciate. You won’t regret using this company for your car needs.

My problem with this place is that they hit my car. The insurance company handled the claim and declared total loss, but what they’re offering doesn’t begin to cover the damage they caused or the inconvenience and problems we’ve gone through. I would never go back to this place.

Dropped my car off there 10 mins to close thinking I had a bad alternator. They were able to fit me in next day due to a cancelation, rediagnose the issue (battery wires were corroded), and replace the wiring. Would recommend.

Pretty heartbreaking to have to write this. Ten years of being a loyal customer...every state inspection, every oil change, every fix, I took it to Dunkums. Plenty of oil change places closer, and spots I know will give me a clean inspection, but I've always been loyal to Dunkums. Unfortunately, I've never really felt taken care of. Went in for a simple inspection, knowing I was going to have at least $300 worth of work done, which I could have gotten done cheaper at a tire place. Fine no problem. But to then be hit with an extra $30 for new wiper blades because they were missing a clip. I asked for a break, but she still charged me for the wipers. The pound of flesh they were already getting wasn't enough, I guess. I'm sad to say I won't be going back, because I ultimately felt like just another number for them. I guess the economy really is strained if this place needed the $30 that much.
