Charlie is everything you want from your auto mechanic and more! He has great communication, is very knowledgeable and does great work. What else could you ask for?! I have taken two vehicles to Dunleavy and have been very pleased. One for a big performance upgrade on a FJ Cruiser and another for repairing a difficult oil leak on a Ford 6.7 diesel. I found a trustworthy and honest mechanic! Charlie is awesome! I got into an accident and needed a car immediately. My daughter’s old 1997 Camry had been just sitting with a bad wheel bearing, leaks, and other unknown issues for months. I contacted Charlie on Wednesday and he told me to bring it in. I picked the car up on Friday! What’s awesome about Dunleavy Automotive, besides the quick turn around, is that they give you an itemized list when they do the diagnostic check so you can see in black and white what your car needs. And when it’s done you get a receipt with time spent on each repair and the price. So informative! Now my daughter is bringing her car to him too! I definitely recommend Dunleavy Automotive!

I had the best experience with Charlie at Dunleavy Automotive! My daughter’s car had many issues. He responded to me within the hour and I had the car in the shop the next morning. Charlie itemized everything and helped guide me to what work needed to be done now and what could wait. He was kind and easy to work with. The car was ready that evening! This is by far the best experience I have had with a mechanic! Dunleavy Automotive is now the only place I’ll take our cars!

Visited on recommendation of a friend. Super friendly service and very much no-nonsense. I came in for an oil change primarily and a couple of maintenance checks and that’s exactly what I received. No up-selling, just honest service at a fair price (which as a woman is such a breath of fresh air). Charlie even rotated my tires and put some air in them, free of charge, and when that triggered my tire pressure warning light the next morning, he checked it out within 15-20 minutes of me calling him about it. Honestly, I will be recommending him to friends and colleagues. Thank you, Charlie!!

My son had just bought his first car, used but new to him. Unfortunately, the next day it popped an error code. We had called around to a few places but they didn't have availability to do a diagnostic check for a few days. After posting on our local Facebook page, Charlie was recommended. We were able to get his car in that very same day. While he could have taken advantage of the situation, Charlie was very honest and upfront. He let us know that it was a battery issue. He said he could put in a new battery for us, but it would have to be one from the dealership that would cost almost double what we paid for the car. When my son and his dad went to pick up the car the next day, Charlie explained in detail. He said the car is definitely worth it with the condition it is in, but recommended going with a refurbished battery with a warranty. My sons father was super impressed with Charlie (as was I) and said that he will now be bringing all of his car needs to Dunleavy, and recommending them to everyone else. Sometimes it is really not the price but the quality. Even though we didn't get the car fixed through them, we were not taken advantage of and were given honest recommendations that Charlie did not benefit from, which seems to be rare these days. Truly appreciative and impressed by Charlie's integrity.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dunleavy Automotive is truly above and beyond. Charlie Dunleavy (Owner/ Mechanic) is nothing short of amazing. I called the day before New Year’s while dealing with a failed smog test, registration renewal, and a check engine light right as my spring semester was starting. I was overwhelmed and stressed, and no one else could give me real answers—just fear and uncertainty. Charlie called me back immediately and had a clear plan of action right away. He provided me with a loaner car while he worked on mine, which literally made it possible for me to start my semester and keep going to both of my jobs without disruption. Without that car, my entire schedule and stability would’ve been thrown off. I’ve been to Charlie’s shop before, and every time I leave impressed by how solution-oriented, honest, and efficient he is. He truly takes real-life deadlines into account. Because my car is used, I was terrified the repair cost would be as much as buying a newer car. Not only did Charlie fix it himself (even though it’s not always a repair he typically does), but the total cost was cheaper than what other places were quoting me for the part alone. Before even calling me to pick it up, Charlie took my car back to the smog place where it had previously failed, got it smogged, it passed, and it was electronically sent to the DMV. Registration handled. No DMV stress. No temporary permits. No running around. No missing work or school. No chaos. Everything was just done. The quality of service at Dunleavy Automotive is rare. This is real integrity, real care, and real professionalism. If you have a car issue, I genuinely wish Dunleavy Automotive on you. Highly recommend. Thank you, Charlie!

I was referred to Charlie by the management of AAA tire center in Santa Rosa. I initially hired Charlie to work on my son‘s truck. He did an excellent job. I then hired him to put an air-conditioning system in my wife’s 93 Wrangler. We then Started having him do all the maintenance on our five vehicles. Most recently he was able to repair my daughter‘s, 2003 BMW 325 I. He has an excellent team of very qualified people working with him. He also seems to be very well connected with other professionals in the industry. The service is always fantastic and the people are wonderful to deal with. He’s not the cheapest mechanic in the area and I’m glad. In my experience going with the lowest priced shop has always ended up costing more in the long run. He calls me every time Something needs to be done, to verify my approval of the work and after we pick up the vehicle or it is delivered to us. He gets in touch to make sure everything‘s going well a week or so later. I would highly recommend Dunlevey automotive to anyone Who is looking for quality service and professionalism.
