Hands down the BEST auto shop we've ever gone to! Honest, fair and THEY FIX THE PROBLEM! Can't say enough great things about this shop - they are true gems of Grand Junction, and we certainly appreciate them! We have brought our truck to them repeatedly since moving to the area - and we won't waste our time going anywhere else when we have trouble with our truck!

Fair prices and stand behind their work. I had a Ford that they kept on the road. I trust them. Update I think they are honest with fair prices but now I doubt I will be back. It took 3 working days but 6 days total to replace power steering pump. Took it back this morning for the 3rd time because it is still not working. Call at 2 to find out and was told they were just now looking at it. Calls back a few minutes later and they will have to keep it over the weekend again. I don’t run a business but if someone has to bring a vehicle back I would think that would be the first priority. I could not make an appointment because I picked it up at EOB yesterday only to find it was not fixed. It will be 11 days total if they get it done Monday. Missed time from work going back and forth. I tend to be a loyal customer but come on.

Inner tray of console got broken either by the tow truck driver or a mechanic from this shop. I was told by the shop supervisor that the shop would replace it. I've called several times and left several messages and no one calls me back or no one answers the phone. Went in to talk to the man and he said he would order it and the shop would install it. I'm highly disappointed. I was quoted no more than 1500.00 to fix my rear main seal on my car then priced at 400.00 more. Then had to get the check engine light turned off and the main air control plugged back in at the jeep dealership. Not very happy this company. I had heard such good things about them too

Have brought Vehicles here for several years and have always been given a fair price and work completed on time. Brought a truck back today that had died on me and discovered it was a module they had replaced about a year ago. They kept all the records for me so the module was free as it had a lifetime warranty. Pretty rare to have to have a truck towed into a shop and 2 hours later leaving with everything fine and only paying $67. I believe these guys are doing the best they can. I see a couple negative reviews on here and I think have those people never made a mistake? What I care about is people who are honest, fair and do their best. This perfectly describes Family Auto and transmission.

While en route to Grand Junction from Denver, part of a long road trip, I realized my car needed to be looked at for air-conditioning and brake issues. I called ahead to find a place to have the work done the following day. Three other shops told me they were booked up for 2 weeks. (For mechanical work!!!???) Owner Clayton, however, told me to come in the next day at 8, opening time, and he’d take care of me. And he did - great work in 2 hours. Reasonable pricing. Highly recommend. Also met one of the mechanics, Devin (?), who said he loves working there because of his great boss. GO HERE. Tell Clayton that Nancy from TX says hi.

BEWARE he completed work on my transmission, I drove off and my transmission light flashed on and engine reved up very bad I couldn't push the pedal! They came and met me added fluid and took the car back to the shop. Said nothing was found wrong! I was scared to drive it. A week later on a trip to Utah it did it again!! 4 hours away from home. Called them and they said "try to make it back and we will check it" left me in UTAH with issues they NEVER fixed and never reached back out to me seeing if I made it back or needed to come in. The issue is still there, idles high AND I paid $700 for the service. I was warned before I went to them and didn't listen. Listen to me and DO NOT go here. They don't fix ANY issues just put DUCK TAPE on it.

Clayton is awesome to work with. My transmission had issues a year and a half after being replaced, and he worked with the warranty company to get the repairs covered. Even covered the extra labor costs since I am now on the front range. Appreciate all his help!

This is my preferred mechanic, hands down. Clay always communicates clearly that fixes that are required, any ways to save money, and the duration of the fix. Clay is always trying to save us money where he can, even going as far as to look for our parts on different after market sites. This is a very honest mechanism with a great reputation. Have taken several vehicles there. The prices are always as good or better than other shops as well.

Excellent service! Replaced 4x4 transfer case seal for a very reasonable price, with same day service. Honest: Transfer case is complex, and I wouldn't have known the difference if he had charged 5x as much. Good Old-School mechanics are getting scarce.
