Ruined my transmission by failing to refill fluids when completing a differential fluid change. I've repeatedly tried to sort this out with Rich and he has ignored, deflected, and blamed others throughout. I won a small claims judgment for $5,000 against him which he refuses to address or respond to. Ask yourself if this is the type of person you want to deal with before going here.

I sent my car there in May to have the lock cylinder replaced. He used done nothing to my car and has made every excuse possible and has been avoiding us and when he does answer he makes excuses or is rude and insulting. 105 days with no work done and has lied about the work he said he would get done. On top of that he charged my wife for parts and repair on her car then when she went to drive it home it almost wrecked because he misdiagnosed a whole in the transmission. I would not use this joke of a shop as it could literally kill you or a loved one and n ot to mention cost you for tow fees and stress.

They know their stuff and don't mess around. Very busy shop but usually they'll take my car in within a day or two. Sooner for emergencies. They have fair prices and stand by their work. Downsides - no system to track work done so keep your receipts. Also because they're busy they mostly keep my car running vs maintained. I love German/ European cars but I'm tempted to go Japanese just to have closer and more repair shop options. I guess this is why folks lease vehicles.

Very accommodating and informative. John gave me a fantastic deal on a pre-purchase inspection and Rich has given good recommendations when I've called in since then with questions. If you've got a VW, this just might be the place to go in town.

Super shady owner, i had issues with my alternator and he said hed replace it no problem and i asked him to give me a price before he does the job, he wanted 1000 bucks for labor alone, a money hungry owner that isnt a true business man, i bet you half of the good reveiws on here he made himself

They are my go-to for working on my Eurovan. It has had several random issues - as all VWs do - and these guys are great at doing what is needed and discussing the things that are optional or might cost more. Incredibly trustworthy and always looking for solutions that are right for the customer, not how much they can make off of someone. Also will be bringing my Subaru to them now that they work on those too. Thanks Rich and team

Rich and his crew are quick, affordable, and clearly passionate about the cars they work on. He kept my priorities in mind and me in the loop while bringing my busted old Rabbit into a much happier condition at a very competitive price. Great shop, will return.

Rich is awesome!!!!!! We were quoted close to 4000 dollars in repairs at a VW dealership and Rich was able to help us for a fraction of that price. He was quick, helpful, and explained things in terms I could understand! If you have a VW don’t go anywhere else but here!!!

I was concerned initially reading some of these reviews but trusted my gut and had Rich work on my car. I was expecting it to take a few days as I could see he was busy but my car was ready the next business day on a job that took quite a few hours to complete. I usually do my own work on my car but this was a time consuming repair I had him tackle. Since it was my first experience there (and having been burned by the local VW dealer shop in my town before vowing to never go back there) I double checked everything under the hood in the area worked on - everything was tight, clean, not a single point of concern. I've caught other shops messing with things on my car that they had no business touching looking for "more work," Rich was honest and did not do any of that. He gave me some tips on things to watch out for with my 20 year old diesel that are common to the vehicle and charged exactly what was quoted. I'd recommend his shop without reservation.

I have been taking my VW's here for over a decade. I would not trust anyone to work on them except Rich and crew. Prices are excellent and the work is the best in PDX. Thank you Fix-um Haus!

Reasons you should *not* get your car repaired at Fix Em Haus: - Your car will be exposed on the street while waiting for the work to be done. - It will probably take 2-3 times longer to get your car repaired than you expect. - The owner has terrible communication skills and is a difficult person to work with. - You may get your car back without having all issues addressed and need to take your car to a different shop to get things completely repaired anyways. Reasons you should go to Fix Em Haus: - Cheaper than most places - May give you an extra discount if you pay in cash I won't be returning here and recommend you save yourself some sleep as well.

Great mechanics and good guys! very honest and fair. I needed help with my car and when no other shop was available until months later, they were able to see me that day and fix it on the next. I will be taking my car here whenever I have any problems in the future. Highly recommend their services.

These guys are awesome. My man Gary helped me out a ton when I couldn’t get my chase rack off my truck I drove by asking if he could give me a hand and same day helped a guy out. These guys know their stuff and care about helping folks out.

I've been going to Rich for my various Mk4 TDI's issues for 13 years now, and his prices have always been fair; he always fixes my car's problems regardless of how many parts need to be thrown at it and will work until the vehicle is FIXED. No BS straight to the point guy, drives what he works on. His technician Gary does stellar work as well and is also a full on VW fanatic. I've recommended them to all of my buddies with VWs, and will continue to do so for years to come!!

This used to be a good place to get auto repair. It's not anymore. Save yourselves massive frustration and go elsewhere. Rich, the owner, is a total mess... irresponsible, unprofessional and has wasted so much of my time I don't know where to begin. I have brought my older car into him twice for repairs. Both times he told me when to bring it in and said he'd work on it and BOTH TIMES he refused to call with updates and never answered his phone, forcing me to go to the shop over and over to figure out what was taking so long. And each time I went there he still hadn't done anything to the car... we're talking WEEKS... and kept giving me bullshit excuses while working on car after car that came to him after I did. I finally got a good recommendation from a neighbor: go to Madison across from ACE Hardware. I am 100% done with Fix-Um Haus. And I was a very good customer of his for years.

Rich used to be great, not sure what happened. He returned my car with a new, massive oil leak after routine clutch replacement and told me it was fine. I waited a very long time for that already so I explored other options but went back to Rich hoping he'd be honest enough to make it right. After that he kept my car for a year and ultimately made me pay $600 to fix a leaking rear main seal he botched the installation on in the first place. Gave me a business card with "free oil change" written on it as if that would make me feel better. No thanks, I can change my own oil.

I think this is the first negative review I've ever left, but if you go here for an oil change, be sure to tell them what you don't want them to do. If you're going to do extra work and charge for it, ask. Just throwing a warning out there to anyone that reads this.

Under no circumstances should you take your vehicle here. They had my car for months with little to no communication. Once I had the car back, it ran for one day before shutting off again. I was finally able to get it towed to another shop and they said the work that was done was easily the worst they've ever seen. Loose bolts, fuses hanging free, live wires, bridging contacts with metal pieces shoved in the fuse box. Junkyard parts. I couldn't believe it. Truly awful to where the new shop doesn't know if they'll even be able to work on the car. Beware.
