Flinn has been the best auto repair shop Ive been able to find in the salt lake area. They are honest and fairly priced. Last time I went in for an oil change, they fixed my broken windshield wiper for free, just because they noticed it was broken! Great service.

Mike is great, very honest and the quality of service is amazing! Just wanted to give an update. Went back for service today (1/14/21) and the car was done before I could finish having breakfast at home! There was a miscommunication on what I wanted specifically but Mike made it right. This is why I like coming here! You’d be foolish to go anywhere else. Service is stellar, and the work is quality and fast. I would give this place a 10/5 if I could!

I’ve been coming here for years, but will not be returning after my most recent experiences. I’ve paid on three separate occasions for my AC to be fixed, totaling to the price of a new compressor, only for them to have come up with no reason as to why it doesn’t work. I came in most recently for a weld, not only was it 3x the expected cost(provided by a different mechanic), they didn’t give me an estimate or tell me any price before doing the work and charging me. After said weld, my car is making a horrendous sound. I brought it in again to as a final chance for them to change my mind, they said they would look at it urgently, and didn’t get to it in 7 hours. So I’ve now paid for two things to be fixed, one of them not fixed with no guesses as to what’s wrong and one fix created a problem that I’ll have to take somewhere else to be fixed. So disappointed, feels like I’ve been scammed. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

Mike runs a fantastic shop with honest and hardworking mechanics. He got my car fit in to a busy week and got my job done same day! I needed my brake pads and front CV axles replaced, and he effectively communicated the quality of brake pads that were going on to my car, as well including information about the axles that I provided to be installed. “Over-communication is golden,” he said when he called me. He and his shop also have reliable experience with air-cooled VW’s. Flinn Auto will definitely be my mechanic going forward.

Best shop in town! I've been jerked around and overcharged by other mechanics for bad work, but every time I've gone into Flinn they always resolve every issue in a timely manner with fair pricing. I planned a two week vacation to the Grand Tetons from California stopping in Salt Lake for two days for Evermore Park. As we were leaving Utah and entering Wyoming, my Jeep lost all power and I was towed back to Flinn Automotive. Turns out I needed a new engine. Mike was amazing! He explained the problem to me and gave me options. He worked through Pioneer Days to install my new engine in less than a week, knowing that I was stranded and desperate to have some sort of vacation. I completed my vacation and made it back to California with no additional problems. My car runs like a champ now! Thanks Mike and Flinn Automotive. Nice to know you can count on honesty and work ethic in an unfamiliar city.

Thought I'd take the time to review these guys. I've been here twice now for different things. This is the only auto repair place that has ever made me feel actually comfortable. Awesome service, honest and very reasonably priced. They will not charge you for unnecessary items and have very friendly staff. They described in detail the specific repairs and were completely transparent on what needed to be fixed and why, as well as what did not need to be fixed. Mike Flinn is outstanding, and Steve — his 2nd in command — is excellent as well. I genuinely regret not going to Flinn Auto Repair sooner. If they determine that there isn’t actually a problem, they don’t charge me. I’ve brought my car there at half a dozen times in the past year, for oil change, inspection, and mechanical issues and they only bill for actual work performed — I’ve walked out three times without having to pay anything because it didn't need fixing or it is too old of a car to get parts for. Car repairs are never cheap in general, but everyone at Flinn is kind, honest, and straightforward. That alone removes almost all worry and dread from the process.

I happened to learn about Flinn Auto Repair based on a recommendation from a gal who performed an inspection two years ago. She said she’d heard great things so I gave them a call and got my car in for a repair on a minor exhaust issue. From day one, they have been honest and helpful with all of my questions and their pricing for any repairs that have come up. I rely upon my car for frequent traveling and they’ve been exceptionally accommodating with me and ensuring that my car is in excellent service for my travels. We’ve all had past experiences with mechanics that don’t necessarily mean to make mistakes but when they do happen it can be expensive and erodes trust. At Flinn’s they take pride in what they do and are honest in how they operate with their customers. These guys will continue having a successful and thriving business based on their customer service alone. These guys benefit is having the trust of their consumers for the long term. Strong work guys. I appreciate your work and integrity.
