Great guys. I've been taking my cars to them for literally 20+ years. I trust them immensely and wouldn't go anywhere else.

Took our lawn mower in for a tune-up and blade sharpening. Less than 24 hours turn-around and a very reasonable price!

I've been here several times. Service is good, prices are good, never upselling unnecessary service. I would recommend this repair shop to anyone, but especially to someone who doesn't know much about cars and wants honest, fair prices. Note: cash and cheques only.

Rodney has been the mechanic for our cars for almost 20 yrs. We currently own cars that were built in 2002 & 2005 with 240,000 miles plus and he keeps them well maintained and saves us a lot of $$. He enjoys working on cars and saving money for customers!

I went here after traveling south from New England. Brakes weren’t feeling right. My dad says they are honest as the day is long. They diagnosed the warped rotors and machines them perfectly. These guys are great mechanics. Great value too!

As myself a small business owner and supporter, I thought long and hard about writing this review. Albeit brief, we did not have a good experience here. I like to work on our vehicles myself, but sometimes I run into an issue that I cannot figure out on my own, or lack the equipment to do so. A tricky cylinder misfire in this case. On the recommendation of some good friends, we took our 2015 minivan (our daily driver) to Garrett's Garage, after they told us that they could get us right in. My wife and I rearranged our morning to deliver the van to Garrett's as quick as possible. After talking with the mechanic, we were told that we would receive a phone call as soon as they could look at it. Well, that phone call came just 75 minutes later. The mechanic tells me that he's decided that he "doesn't want to mess with our van. I just think it's going to be a real mess." Exact words. He told me that it had a fuel leak and a cracked upper intake manifold, and that we should have it picked up by a tow truck. So we quickly got the van picked up by a tow truck ($100) and had it towed back to our driveway. All of this occurred in under two hours. The fuel leak turned out to be a single fuel injector with a split O-ring. I fixed it in about 12 minutes. The crack in the intake manifold turned out to be a non-issue as the manifold was tight and the cracks were not near any gaskets. A vacuum leak test confirmed this. In the end, a mechanic friend of ours freed up his schedule and he and I got to the bottom of the issue in my driveway. Honestly, I can appreciate candor and someone being up front with me. However, people bring their vehicles to automotive mechanics to have their broken vehicles fixed. That's kind of the way the system works. For whatever reason that I still can't wrap my head around, Garrett's Garage very unapologetically wasted an entire morning of ours. Why? Because our vehicle was broke? We could have dropped off our van at Bojangles up the street and gotten the same result as we did with this garage. Actually, at least at Bojangles, we could have gotten a chicken biscuit while they were deciding to not work on our van, because as it turns out, they only make fried chicken at Bojangles. I could understand if we had brought a complete train wreck of a vehicle in for repair, but we did not. Garret's Garage should tell people up front - We fix cars. But we might not fix yours if we don't feel like it.

The morning I called Garret’s garage to see if he could plug the hole in my tire in the afternoon. He mentioned to bring cash or check. I replied that I would. After I finished working I went to the shop. Upon arrival Garret did not greet me with a smile or wave or any other inviting customers service gesture. I exited my vehicle to approach him and I noticed he was analyzing another vehicle with an handheld machine. He eventually looked my direction and spoke with a dismissive tone, asking what I am there for. I replied that my tire needs the nail removed and to be plugged, as I was speaking he turned his back in the other direction, squatted down on the other side of the car and I was not going to follow him or raise my voice to be heard. He then started to work on my vehicle. I have been dealing with what I was dealing with in my life and making necessary arrangements for my family as he worked on my car. I realize they were close to finish so I proceeded into the shop to pay. I remember I needed to get change and said to Garret I forgot to get change I will head to the hotel across the street to get change. He responded “how could you forget something like that?” I respond, “I also work.” I planned to walk and leave my car as a trust that I would return. He remarks in a condescending manner “go! Take your car with you.” He was very angry that I made the mistake. I returned with the total of $16 for the work was $7. He hands me my receipt and hands back the $6 and $3 change. I say thank you and head to the exit. He says, “wait here’s your 50 cents” I then realized he was being cruel. I respond, “no that’s okay, you keep it and walk out.” As I’m heading to my car I hear the change hitting the ground because he is throwing it at me. And he hollers “I don’t have problems.” Once I get to my car and place my things down, I return to the business and place the change he gave me on his desk and walk out. Once I reach my car he is then behind me and throws the money crumbles up in my seat. I throw the cash out of vehicle and quickly get in, roll my windows up and drive off. He is very hostile, aggressive, unprofessional, condescending, and possible racist and prejudice. I am also a Muslim Afro-AMERICAN female. I would not recommend business with him based on my experience of attempted assault, aggressive behavior and discrimination from Garret. Also, there was another employee there who also worked on the car. He saw the whole thing and said absolutely nothing in the defense of justice or righteousness. Cowards. If you are woman don’t do to Garrets Garage. If you are a Muslim don’t go to Garrett’s Garage. If you are a mother don’t go to Garrett’s Garage. If you are a teacher don’t go to Garrett’s Garage. If you are Afro-American don’t go to Garrett’s Garage. If you are a wife don’t go to Garrett’s Garage. If you are a daughter don’t go to Garrett’s Garage. If you are a sister don’t go to Garrett’s Garage.

There’s something wrong with this man. Rude, inconsiderate, curmudgeon— and not half as good as he thinks he is. If you value your mental health, you will not take your vehicle here. Unbelievably bad experience, and my car still needed work when all was said and done. I’d give less than a star if I could. This might be the first or second review I’ve ever done, but I was motivated to do so because of the trash service and experience. I am editing this review and adding the following because I read a review a few posts down about a woman who felt that Garrett was racist, because there was no other explanation for how she was treated. When I wrote my review and was thinking about what to say, the thought crossed my mind, but I decided to leave it out because I have no proof that racism was his motivation in the way that he treated me. But at the same time, there was no logical explanation for the way he treated me, which was why I thought about the possibility of prejudice. Now I see that another customer of color has experienced something similar. Because of that, I thought I would add this. He may or may not be racist, but the feeling you get as a minority while there is one of being treated by a racist. What a jerk.

It's finally nice to find a car mechanic that I trust! You can tell these guys are knowledgeable and care about what they do. They don't try to sell me extra thing I don't need. They tell me exactly what I need and how to maintain it. Service was good and the fix was very reasonably priced. I'll be definitely coming back!

We have taken cars to Garrett's for many years. Recently, my daughter's car had an issue and had to be towed to their shop; we left it overnight for them and they called us the next day and explained the issue and had it repaired for us. The owner of Garrett's garage always provides excellent service and quick repairs. Prices are very good and we always feel very good about the work that is done to our cars. I highly recommend this local business!

I had a very disappointing experience with Rodney and his son at this shop. Due to my work schedule, I couldn’t bring my vehicle in for my original appointment, so I called ahead to reschedule. Although they begrudgingly accepted the change, they were extremely rude about it. When I brought my vehicle in for the rescheduled appointment, they proceeded to shame me for not keeping the original time. Rodney even said they “need the money” and rely on income from appointments as they’re made. I found this unprofessional and odd, as most shops I’ve worked with are willing to accommodate customers with busy schedules. I apologized sincerely for any inconvenience, reminding Rodney that I’d been a loyal customer for years and that my mother and aunt also use their services. Shockingly, he said he didn’t care and refused to serve me anymore. He handed me my keys and told me to leave. The entire interaction was unnecessarily rude, and I remained polite throughout. Their behavior felt desperate or indicative of some deeper issues. Thankfully, this incident led me to find a new garage that is both professional and respectful. I haven’t looked back and wouldn’t recommend this shop to anyone based on my experience.
