I needed some tires for my car that were special order items. All other resources I tried stated it would be months before they were available.Troy and his team have helped me in the past with exhaust work so I thought I would try them for my tires. He was very busy when I stopped by but he took the time and found me the tires after hours while at home. Instead of months Troy had the tires in his shop 1 1/2 weeks later. I dropped my wheels off in the morning on my way to work to get them mounted and received a call back before I even made it to work. They were ready for pick up. Keep in mind they are a exhaust/mechanic shop not a tire store. Words can not describe how grateful I was for Troy to help me out. I never take time to leave reviews for businesses but I had to this time. I have recommended General Car & Exhaust to many friends and colleagues in the past and ALL of them were impressed by the professionalism and courtesy his team provided. I did notice a rash of bad reviews recently posted to Google reviews that can only be explained by 1 bad apple that had a few of their internet social posting warriors trying to bring a good business down. This tactic never works against a good business and will not work now. My guess is a customer that flopped on the ground and threw a fit like a 3 year old. A internet expert who routinely pays for winter air for their tires and a quick fill of his/her blinker fluid at other shops had a beef about the diagnosis and cost of a repair from a mechanic with decades of experience along with the time it would be done. Like my Grandpa always told me " Never eat at a restaurant that is not busy at lunch time and never go to a mechanics shop that does not have other customers cars waiting for service".

Troy is one heck of a knowledgeable man his prices are amazing he’s never let me down. I refer everyone to him because I know that he will take care of them right. There’s no other mechanic in the valley I would take my vehicles to. He did a cage in my race car came out perfect. Did an exhaust on my Silverado sounded perfect just what I wanted. I will keep referring people to him over and over and over because I know he will take care of them and charge them exactly what it should be no ifs, ands or buts it’s never over priced.

Just like to start by saying that these guys are awesome!! Been going to this shop for a year and a half now. The owner Troy is a vey good listener and communicator and always keeps me in the loop on my automotive maintenance and repairs. Special thanks to Edgar for always being patient and willing to explain all of the technical aspects of the repair. Excellent quality of work at a more than fair price, all with a smile and friendly atmosphere. Can't say enough about these guys, wish I could leave 6 stars!!!!

I have taken two of my rigs into these awesome guys. Not only have they repaired my vehicle(s) quickly and with great value but they identified some small fixes I was not charged for. I have brought my vehicles in to check codes and Troy has checked them for free and I repaired some issues on my own. These guys are knowledgeable, professional and honest. I would highly recommend you taking your vehicle here.

Awesome people, great prices and great workmanship! They stand behind their work! Was out of state and heard about Troy, took my truck there and they were able to fix it. It needed head gaskets, glow plugs, fuel filter, fan clutch and more. . . Being from out of state, Troy gave me the confidence they could do the job and that they did. Truck drove flawlessly back home pulling our trailer. Call them if you want great work and good prices, he will be honest.

I hate to leave a bad review bc the owner seemed cool but after waiting and no reply to the shoty work I’ll share my story. Took my van in for a full exhaust, met the guy who was going to do the work and I made it clear to him to keep the exhaust as far away from the airlines and bags as possible. Didn’t bother to check for a few weeks since they seemed trustworthy, that was my mistake. The welds look horrible and the exhaust was ran so it sat up against the air line putting a hole in it. $630 and this is the shoty work I get. Lesson learned I will never go back

I had a good experience with this shop. They installed a new header and matched this to a custom exhaust. The work was completed how I needed it to be performed.

Just got the exhaust system on my 69 Camaro replaced from the headers on back. The 2 1/2" pipes with Flowmaster 40 series mufflers is the perfect setup! The best part of the exhaust is the sound! It's way better than I could have hoped for or imagined! Troy and his entire crew did an awesome job! I'm extremely satisfied with this shop, the job they did and would not hesitate to give my highest recommendation. AAA+++ all the way!

I took my 1978 Firebird to general auto to have new exhaust installed and some A/C work to finish up a LS2 swap, long story short, after having the exhaust installed I had them try to start the car for the first time and found that the harness I installed was completely incorrect for the car. Troy and Edgar helped me work through all of the issues that came up because of this and got the the car up and running great! Troy was great to work with and Edgar was very thorough with researching all of the issues with the wiring. Highly recommend these guys Thank you,

Highly recommend. The guys that work here were very knowledgeable, professional, and do great work. I needed a custom exhaust pipe welded onto my generator for a carpet cleaning machine I built, they had it done in no time, and I'm very happy with the results.

Troy at General Car & Exhaust was extremely helpful and quick to complete my system. He even painted the exhaust pipes black to complete the look of the system. I would recommend to anyone needing exhaust work and any general work!

Excellent experience getting exhaust work done on a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The shop offered a fair price and delivered top-tier quality work. I especially appreciated how friendly and professional the owner was. This is a genuinely good business, and I will be returning for any future car repairs.

Had a car with a rusted exhaust that needed welded. They did a good job in welding in a new pipe to eliminate my exhaust leak. In the process, they unbolted and lowered my exhaust to weld in the new exhaust piece. That was fine. However, when lowering my exhaust, somehow they messed up the wiring on the front O2 sensor. This car has been driven with the exhaust leak for over 4 years with no lights on the dash. When I picked it up from the shop, I noticed the Engine light was on. I went back in and checked with the owner/mechanic that did the work. He assured me that it was not him and that it is a coincidence that the light turned on. Knowing how Honda's are and how you need O.E. parts in most repairs, this is a very convenient stance for the shop owner. I had to order in a new, O.E. oxygen sensor for the front of the exhaust. When pulling the the old one off, all of the wires fell out of the pigtail part that clips into the main vehicle harness. That tells me that when the exhaust was lowered to weld in the new pipe, the plug was not disconnected, letting the weight of the exhaust hang by those wires. OR the clip was improperly disconnected. Either way, I paid just shy of $200 for a welded exhaust pipe and then had to buy a $200 oxygen sensor to fix what they broke. Not pleased with the lack of commitment to insure proper customer service.
