I really like Grant Tire because they are very trustworthy and Scott, the shop mgr., will give you the straight poop on what is happening with your car. They sell a variety of tires, they do real good mechanical work for a fair price, and a good place to drop off your car and have it taken very good care of!!

When I lived in Kingsport, I had my car serviced at Grant Tire & Auto. I didn't have the deep appreciation that I now have because I was unaware of the unscrupulous practices of other repair shops. I live in a suburb of Washington DC and twice I have received invoices from two different repair shops totaling in the hundreds of dollars and both times Steve Grant saw no reason for the repairs they recommended. Count me as someone who will drive 400 miles to get a second opinion from Steve.

They wanted to spend $750 to make repairs that they couldn't confirm would fix the issue. This was after almost three whole weeks of them having my truck and only completing a diagnostic on it. I lost all confidence in their ability to complete the repairs so I had to have my truck towed to another facility. I felt like they did not want to work on my truck at all. The mechanic seemed like he didn't have the time to work on my truck. This was the 2nd time the same mechanic did so. I took my truck down there a few months ago for an ABS light. He told me that that all of the sensors etc would have to be replaced and it wasn't worth the time and money. At first, I thought that may have been a fair assessment, the truck is a 96, but after waiting weeks the 2nd go around, I now feel like all they wanted was the easy work and I was bringing them work they didn't feel like they wanted to do or couldn't do. I was hoping this facility was going to be my "go-to" given their proximity to me and convenience but after this 2nd time of taking my truck there I will not be back.

They are very friendly they put tires on my vehicle the other days then my mom needed some brake work done and they never returned my phone call I guess they did not need my business I have been doing business with them for the past me and my dad my dad thought very high of them but it is a good cheap place to get tires

I've used grants since Robbie Fergusion recommended them years ago. They are so honest. I hit a big pothole today, so I'll be back down there this week. If they only made pothole proof tires, I'd give them 10 stars. Best tire place around.

Steve is very friendly and helpful. However, the lady that works the front desk is very rude. And she has been all 3 times I have went in to get my tires rotated. The third time was the last time for me. I'll not be going back.

Steve Grant and his employees are the best auto repair place in our region. He had been servicing our cars since before I could drive. We’ve been bringing our cars here for years. We’ve always had excellent service and fair pricing. We have learned to come early or have an appointment. We just had to have an a/c compressor replaced on a recently out of warranty Subaru. We greatly appreciate Scott’s comment that the compressor should have lasted longer and his suggestion to contact Subaru. Received a check from Subaru today.

I have been getting my tires from here for about 10-12 years. The owners are top notch in service and price. Just took my car in for a complete brake job - front and back. When I went to pick the car up only the the back had been done as the front didn’t need it. They didn’t rip me off but we’re honest and only repaired what was needed.

Scott was phenomenal in taking in my car this morning and being super quick in looking over my car after a faulty recommendation from the dealership and even topped off my coolant with no charge. Super recommend these folks as they do very good work and no complaints. If you ever need to get your car looked over and maintenance done, then come over to Grant Tire and Auto
