The AC went out on my Expedition and it’s barely out of warranty. I took it to two different people, paid a ton of money, and it didn’t fix it. I got a quote to “try something” from another that wasn’t sure to work for $1700. I brought it to Murphy’s for diagnostics. I was quoted a little less than $600 to repair it. That was a relief. Imagine my surprise when the next day they called and said it did not take everything they had quoted and it would only be $257. They fixed it and could easily have charged me the full price. It’s working perfectly and more than that, they’ve gained a customer that wouldn’t take their vehicle anywhere else. And they’ve gained my respect.

My truck was sassin' me on the way home from NASCAR in Bristol. Ended up at Murphy's in Kingsport. They had it on the rack and diagnosed in about 40 minutes. I needed fuel injectors that they couldn't get till morning. They recommended a hotel and a place to eat, The Shack. Great BBQ, great service and great people. Definitely try the pulled pork and mustard greens. Murphy's had me back on the road in the morning. Pricing was alot less than I thought it would be. But more importantly everyone there was helpful, pleasant and more than accommodating. Bottom line is that Murphy's turned what could have been a disappointing end to fun weekend at the races into to a pleasant experience. Thanks to all of you at Murphy's and thank you for your hospitality.

I tell you when it comes to service, Murphy’s deserve a 10 star rating. The staff and the lady that works at counter went above my expectations service and being so customer satisfaction. I have a Toyota 4 Runner and always to it Toyota for my service but not anymore. Murphy is straight up honest and their prices beat Toyota too. Thanks for the great service.

My first service visit to Murphy's - excellent service and great value. I had a tire that was slowly losing air and also a couple routine maintenance items I wanted addressed and Murphy's was able to get the car in the day after I called. They did the work quickly and efficiently and the cost was very reasonable. Personnel were friendly and very professional. Great experience, I will use them again.

SAVE YOUR MONEY THEY WONT FIX IT!!!! Shadetree work being done and 3x the price for what you'd pay at any auto store for parts and slow to work and don't even fix the first issue for $4400 absolut waste of your time and money dealership price with backyard experience and that's being generous.might as well burn your money and keep driving your vehicle as is because that's what taking your car here will achieve. Worst service in years since New management took over absolute joke once upon a time I let them do all my work and was pleased but I assure you your money is better spent at any other shop. It took 4 attemps to find the issue and they only found it conveniently after I had already paid for all other work which could have waited considering that issue was the first thing on the list and I called repeatedly to have it re checked and apparently they cant find it until 4tries and a trip back and then wanted an extra 10 hours labor to fix absolutely distasteful only person there doing a good job is the one checking you in she's the only good thing left I have to say for that scam of a shop. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!

I was glad to find a AAA rated auto service shop close to me. To me that means they can be trusted not to take advantage of an elderly woman like me. Everyone was so polite and helpful! Had my car for two weeks… Big mistake, AAA should not use these folks! Tried to charge me THREE hours to replace a fuel filter. That is a 20 minute job folks! To cap it off, they installed it poorly and had to PUSH it in to express oil change to fix the Murphy shoddy work. The fuel line attached to said filter came loose and leaked over 5 gallons of gas. Car could have caught on fire! See photos of gas and us having to PUSH it in to get it fixed. For record, I did NOT even approve changing filter. Kevin and his staff are getting a BBB complaint filed from all of this terrible experience. Do not trust them, they are dishonest and do poor work!

Went and got both front axles replaced. 3 months later they messed up on me. Went to have them fixed under warranty supposedly they fixed them both AGAIN. No now it’s messed up again all under a year. They aren’t worth two red cents if you ask me they need to fire every so called mechanic and hire a new crew. I’d be surprised if they could change a damn tire. Much less put any air in one. The way they carelessly do things like people have the time and money to keep pouring out to them is ridiculous. Horrible never would I ever take another thing to them. I wouldn’t even take a damn bicycle to that place.👎

I booked an appointment to have my brakes and rotors replaced after being quoted a specific price over the phone. When I arrived, they took my car to the back and came out about 20 minutes later just to give me the exact same diagnostic I already knew — and then quoted me a completely different, higher price for the same job. When I declined their service because of the unexpected price change, they went ahead and charged my card $119 anyway — even though I never authorized any work or diagnostic fee when I booked the appointment. I was never told there would be any kind of fee just for showing up or for saying no. This feels dishonest and unethical make sure to get everything in writing before you agree to anything!!

My wife booked an appointment to have her brakes and rotors replaced after being given a quote over the phone from Michael. When we arrived, the shop took the vehicle to the back, then came out about 20 minutes later with the same diagnostic we already knew. Suddenly when the old man came to the front of the desk the price had changed from what was originally quoted When we decided not to move forward with the repair because of the unexpected price increase, they still charged my wife almost $120.00 This company took complete advantage of my wife, and they should be ashamed. This kind of behavior is unacceptable. Customers deserve honesty and transparency, not surprise charges after declining service. I’d strongly recommend finding a more trustworthy shop that stands by their quotes and respects their customers.
