I had my 2010 Volvo's A/C fixed here in May 2019 and it has been working like new (writing this two months later)! As many people here in the Valley know, it gets really hot here in the summer. I am not from the Valley originally and moved here recently so it was nerve racking to go to a new mechanic shop in an unfamiliar area since I've had some pretty awful experiences at some mechanic shops that try to upsell you on EVERYTHING when you're there for one issue in particular. NOT once did I get that impression from Greg. He went out of his way to find me the best deal on the parts, since as you might know (or if you don't) an A/C repair can be a big purchase especially when the condenser goes out. I shopped around before finding Greg's Repair Services and was quoted obscene amounts for an A/C repair at the Volvo dealership and other mechanic shops (in McAllen and Edinburg) that some friends in the area had referred me to. Growing up I had a mechanic in my hometown that my family went to for all our mechanic needs. It was an older shop but with good people who were honest and with a great work ethic. Greg's Repair Services reminds me of that shop back home and I will be a loyal customer for as long as I am in the RGV, and if anyone asks me if I know a good mechanic. I can tell them I know a great one, right here that I trust.

I have known Greg Goby since 1998 when I first moved to the Valley and called him from a listing in the phone book. He answered my automotive questions without trying to sell me anything. Good place to go to if you don't want to be told a lie. He's not cheap, but he's good and he's honest. You get what you pay for. Also, his other mechanic, Henry, is a good guy and has been there for years now.

I have lived in the RGV for 18 years. My out of warranty vehicles went to Goodyear on 23rd for awhile. Then a friend told me about Greg's. I took him one vehicle as a test. He found what was wrong immediately! He noticed some other things which he mentioned to me. What's great is that he looks at a car as a life. What needs to be done may not need to be done right now. He mentioned it as a courtesy. No pressure. He has taken care of my three vehicles for the past five years. Wouldn't trust anyone else.

Greg's repair service has always come through for me. Greg, shelly, Henry and Pops are always ready and willing to help you out with your Auto service that you may need. They will repair your vehicle with the Parts you require and at a very good price. I have been to other shops in the past but Greg's has always always come through with the best service I have ever seen honestly I will always continue to take my vehicles to Greg's.

Spot-on diagnoses every time. This is NAPA certified mechanic shop with tons of experience. Trustworthy. p.s. There’s a similarity named place in town. This one I’m reviewing is on Bentsen Road in McAllen just north of 3-Mile Line. Not open on weekends. Best to make appointment, but they do have a locked gate should you need to leave your vehicle overnight. Highly recommend.

After reading Google reviews, we took Greg a 2012 Escape for what turned out to be a relatively minor brake problem. From my perspective, the positive reviews are justified and this business basically defines competence. They had the car back to us on same day at a fair price and we will definitely return for any problem, large or small, should the need arise.

I am in agreement with the review that labeled Greg as the best mechanic in the RGV! I have been going to Greg's for 6 years and have complete and total faith and confidence in him. He is honest, trustworthy and as so many have stated, a SUPER mechanic. I was in a rush and needed to get my car inspected for license renewal recently and went to a well known tire company nearby for the inspection. They inspected and passed it but said they had found a serious leak that could potentially cause a fire and needed to be taken care of very soon. They gave me a paper describing the problem and an estimate of $800. I went straight to Greg's and told him to do whatever he needed to do and left the vehicle. Went to pick it up the next day and he had taken care of everything(and telling me the problem was not nearly as serious as stated) at a cost of under $200! That's what I mean when I say he's honest..he knows I'd listen to and do anything he recommends. Another plus in going to Greg's is the friendly atmosphere. His wife, Shelly is in the office and always has a smile and a great personality. They are the BEST!!
