I want to preface this with, this used to be my favorite place to get my car serviced ever! But as of the past year and a half to two years, I may have to start going elsewhere due to a few concerns: First, my oil changes were always $90.00 with an optional $20.00 tire rotation. Sure it was pricey, but I knew they would take care of my car because it always came with a thorough inspection, fluid top offs (unless I imagine that part, please fact check me), and honest telling of what my car needed. Now? Now my oil change is $120.00 with a free tire rotation and $10.00 off every time - if my math is correct that is the same price as an oil change plus a tire rotation. On top of this, I couldn’t opt out of the tire rotation - this is Chicagoland and we recently had some very slick roads, so tell me why they put my bad tires up front against my will? This is just dangerous. Now on to the rest: the current diagnostics are lack luster and a bit predatory. I was told that my bushing was cracked and needed to be replaced. I’ve got no issues getting my car fixed when I need it, however I went ahead and did the repair myself because cost of living is high. Reader, my bushings (control arm and sway bar) were in perfect health and looked exactly like the new ones that I had just bought. Along with this, they no longer tell me my brake health (yes I can check but it was convenient at oil changes to have an estimate) and my fluids don’t seem to get topped off anymore (again fact check me if this was never a thing to begin with). They were also dinging my cabin filter which always looked clean, clear, and seemed to have good air flow (I did have them replace it just in case, but there has been no change). I am just so sad to see a trusted provider fall into these practices, especially a place that I felt knew my car well and could give me accurate guidance. I won’t give them 1 star yet because maybe this is just a change in higher ups or something and I want to believe that we can do better, and at the same time I am starting to be concerned and it is starting to impact my view of Subaru as a whole. Edited to add: this is where I bought the car as well, so that is attributed to my trust in them as well for 7 years.

Quinton was wonderful! He took the time to go through the features of the car I was interested in and then helped me build my car so I purchased exactly what I wanted. He kept me in the loop every step of the way as we waited for the car to be delivered. And once the it was delivered he took the time to make sure I was familiar with the features of my new car. I cannot express the depth of gratitude that I have for this company. I was in one of those situations that you hope never happens to you which is that my engine went out on the highway. A tow company towed it here. I got news that my engine was gone and that the cost to repair it would be more than the value of my car. It's not news that you ever hope to hear. And I have had my Subaru for more than 12 years- there was history with that car and the 240k I have driven with it. They were so kind with me. They waved the inspection fee. And they let me keep my car on the lot until I figured out what I could do with it. I cannot Express enough the graciousness that I felt and The humanity in which I was treated. The acts of kindness in these moments I will never forget. And of course where I will be shopping for my next vehicle.

I want to thank Chad for the hospitality and easy going process through purchasing a car that was much needed and long awaited. He reached out when I showed interest and not in the pushy car salesman’s way, but kind and has much knowledge of his job field. We purchased our first Subaru yesterday and are very pleased we chose a Forester Sport! The ride is so comfortable and quiet. The interior is beautiful and offers everything we could want or need. We were in the market for our second Subaru Outback Touring XT (the first one being from 2021) and while we knew exactly which car we wanted, the buying experience was something fantastic. We engaged with Quinton Rose from Hawk Subaru (I recommend buying your car through him) who was non pushy, very collaborative, very knowledgeable and thoroughly professional through every aspect of the transaction. We loved dealing with him. He answered every question patiently and is always available for everything needed. He is a great partner. Highly recommend him as the go to sales person at Hawk Subaru The dealership itself needs some aesthetic improvement. While Subaru cars were pretty standard 10 years back they are nearing the luxury segment and have extremely high loyalty. The dealership aesthetics should reflect that and needs investment. It is cramped. And I inspected my new car in the service lane. I think they need to build a car delivery center which is a special place which makes customers feel good while buying a $30/$40/$50 K car. The dealership is not bad… needs to be made better and bigger. We have switched to Hawk Subaru as our dealer. Close to home and good team.
