We have been going here for 7+ years. The service always goes above and beyond. Recently Vince upgraded my battery since the one they replaced was defective. They take and send you photos to show what repairs are needed. Vince and Chris are super knowledgeable and explain everything. Plus you can't beat their coupons and competitive pricing in this economy.

Outstanding Workmanship and Superb Service at a fair price. Tim and his Team at Tuffy Thoughly diagnosed my car and replaced all the necessary parts after my CV joint/axel broke bringing my car to a screeching halt. They even went above and beyond to get a very hard to locate subframe that was damaged for my car. I could not be happier with the experience I had at this Auto Shop. They have earned my repeat business.

I take my positive review back, my car literally died for the SAME reason as it did a month ago. Tuffy, not surprisingly, did not put the correct part in my car AFTER Tim told me that the other location putting aftermarket part in my car and apparently you cannot do that with my type of car. Then he proceeded to apparently put an aftermarket part in my car and now here I am 2 weeks later with my car on the side of the road. When I called, Tim was not around and I spoke to Erik (who called Tim) And then proceeded to tell me that they helped me out for free. So there's no paperwork, that Tim never told me anything about an aftermarket part versus a dealership part and that I was a liar. So now I am out $760 because I am going to have to have another shop take care of it and actually do it properly. Do not use any Tuffy location!!!!!!

Both of my car key fobs weren’t working. I was going to go to the dealership but stopped by Tuffys on Route 59 to ask what I needed. Within a few minutes the batteries were changed. I had no idea how the fobs worked. They showed me how to remove a key if you can’t get in the car. When I asked how much I owed they said nothing! I wonder if the dealership would have said the same thing? I get all repair work and oil changes done here. I trust them with every aspect of repairs. They are honest with awesome customer service. Everyone in my family goes there because we know we won’t be ripped off. If they tell you something needs to be done with your car be assured it’s the truth. Thanks Tuffy’s you restored my faith in honest dealings.

It is not easy to find good customer service, but I did today. My check engine light came on in my car. I called Tuffy and asked if someone could just look at it to tell me if it was safe to drive. I know how busy the shop is, so I knew it wouldn't be able to be serviced this fast. The man who answered said "Sure, come on in, and we will look at it." I did, they checked it out, and said a plug needed service, not immediately. I said I could set up an appointment for next week because I had a three day tournament down at Navy Pier. Mr. Floss, the mechanic, said "I'll fix it now, I don't want you driving downtown with this problem." And he did! I was safely back on the road by the afternoon. I will be a customer forever!

I would give these guys no stars if that were an option here, but it isn't. I am very disappointed that I had taken my truck here on two separate occasions. Trusting Tuffy was my first mistake. I took them at their word, but they took more of my money and failed to fix the problem I had paid them to resolve on the first occasion. Tuffy promised to fix the faulty work from my first visit, but instead of keeping their word, they came up with an outrageous story about my truck not being roadworthy and refused to fix the problem. Tuffy's outrageous tale is so twisted that they tricked me into getting more work done on my vehicle a second time, because they agreed to fix the original problem at the same time. Still, they never fixed the original problem, but they did fix the second problem and charged me for it. Still, on the same day after taking my money for the second job, they said they would not fix anything else on my truck because it wasn't roadworthy, leaving the original issue I came back for unfinished and untouched. If that isn't the most outrageous move ever, I don't know what is. Because if my truck were truly unroadworthy and unsafe, like Tuffy says, why even do the second job? That's my big question, but I know the real answer. The owner is a joke, lacking honor and having a fickle character to match. I'm very disappointed, but what goes around comes around.

I had a pleasant experience with this location. They set the time to explain what was wrong with my vehicle and were straightforward with the costs. They even replaced wheel bearings that were bad at no additional cost to me when they discovered other wheel bearings making noise that weren’t part of my initial quote. The manager Vince is a nice guy and a pleasure to work with. I will definitely be back for future services!

I have gone there for few years. Spent over $5000 there. The last 2 experiences have been horrible. My AC needed to be replaced after that, no issues with the AC. However after about a month, I noticed I had a parasitic draw, come out and battery was dead. Then I had the Service Engine Soon coming on for the O2 sensors. I brought it back they said they had a machine to scan for the parasitic draw, it found nothing, now they said it could be the battery causing the the parasitic draw. They replaced a very expensive battery with a much cheaper one, issue not fixed. They also replaced the O2 sensors and the Service Engine Soon light still coming on. The do the sensors they took out the radiator. A month or so later my car overheated, had to have it towed to my home. I tried to fill the radiator and it all came pouring out on to the ground. I found the bottom hose of the radiator, the hose clamp was never tightened, the hose was put back on the spout. I tightened the clamp and refilled the radiator, filled up without issue. Now I have a fried water pump or thermostat from the overheating. The amount of aggravation they caused me ridiculous. Extremely disappointed.

I had 2 rusted pipes and thought i had a temperature problem. They wanted to replace all of the pipes behind the catalytic converter and also wanted to replace my radiator and cooling system. they said $1700!!! For a temperature problem i was wrong about and replacing pipes that didnt need to be replaced. Absolutely disgusting service. Went to a different shop told me I didnt have a temp problem and fixed the 2 pipes for under $200!! Tried to rip me off and fix problems that werent present. Scam artist shop. Will never return and neither will my family.

Out of all mechanics in Will County, Tim at Tuffy on route 59 exceeds them all. Lowest quotes in the whole area, they do not add “extra” items onto invoice, & they are great with communication regarding your budget, needs/wants. I have had 15+ mechanics & 20+ in my life, & from now on, Tim will be the only one to recieve work from me here on out. Tuffy is honest, built on integrity, & not overly expensive. HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR EVERY AUTO SERVICE.

I had a great experience getting my oil changed here. The staff was extremely friendly, professional, and made the whole process quick and easy. They explained everything clearly, checked my fluids and tire pressure, and made sure my car was running perfectly before I left. What really stood out was the customer service. The manager Eric and Ron in the front were very respectful, honest, and didn’t try to push unnecessary services. The oil change was done quickly, and they kept me informed the entire time. It’s hard to find a place that combines quality work with great customer care, but this shop definitely delivered. I’ll definitely be coming back for future maintenance and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable oil change service.
