Vinh has been keeping my workhorse 04 Suburban running for over 6 years. He is honest, does a terrific job and always works with me to keep costs down. He’s offered me options for used parts for major repairs, and is always totally up front on what different options will cost. I've brought 4 different cars here at least 10 times total for over 5 years and every time Vinh was honest, quick and reasonably priced. I strongly suspect the person giving the main bad review is a competitor or has some sort of ax to grind. I've seen nothing from this business that seems even slightly shady to me. The shop could be a little nicer, but I'm paying for good service not for the world's prettiest shop.

Again with the save. They replaced my battery terminals (corrosion) and were able to install my new battery. Quick trip! Wasn't the first car I needed to do this to, so when it happened again, I already knew where I'd be going. Called in morning and was able to come in same day. Bought a used car with a 1 year old catalytic converter and a theft-deterring cage over it. The CC worked fine, but the state of CA required a different one to be installed before SMOG could be passed. Bought an approved one and had these guys install it. Took 3 days, which was inconvenient and we are very disappointed that they never gave us back the cat converter that they removed and even put the cage in the trunk instead of re-installing it! How was doing that going to protect it from or help deter theft? We are not going back to a place that keeps our expensive car parts and doesn’t even complete the job!

I cannot think of any other places that can provide such a high-quality service. I arrived at 9:10 and I left at 9:28. I finished the smog test and all the paperwork in 18 minutes. I also managed to download a coupon from their website so I got additional $15 off. There is no other additional fee. I would highly recommend this place. It is right in front of the trash light so it can be a little bit easy to miss.

Absolutely terrible, stay far away from this business. I would give 0 stars if I could. I brought in my Lexus to have some basic maintenance done, and Vin wanted to charge me a ridiculous price to "repair" things that didn't need repair (I got second opinions). Whats more, he was very rude during the entire process and seemed racist towards people who were not of his race. Do yourself a huge favor and take your money elsewhere, worst service I ever recieved.

Quality Mechanics Shop with reasonable prices. Vin and his crew are pros at what they do. If your car is up to code, smog is a breeze and time efficient. Their pricing matches their quality of work, which is no less than impressive. Vin worked on my work van, timing chain, brakes and engine maintenance and repair. He also swapped out the transmission for a new one on my Lexus more than a year ago and it works excellent! Getting my brakes done asap! I waited to do this review because i wanted time to speak for his work... and it doesnt disappoint. He does it all, Definitely my favorite shop. 👌

I highly recommend Hayward Auto Shop! I brought in my 2014 Mercedes CLA 250 to have the thermostat replaced. They did an excellent job—the car is running perfectly now and the engine temperature is stable. The staff was professional, the turnaround was fast, and the pricing was very fair for a Mercedes repair. It’s hard to find a shop you can trust with European cars, but these guys are the real deal. I’ll definitely be back for future service!

Only smog check open on a Sunday. Service was professional and efficient. Pricing is transparent and reasonable, fair. Waiting area had comfortable seating and watched winter Olympics during service. Actual smog check took less than 15 min. Most importantly, my 14 year old truck passed on the first try!
