Told me a price fer water pump and timing. Stuck with it and called to let me know what problems they ran into, throughout the day. They said the head gasket was blown. I took it to another shop to get the headwork done. When the other shop completed the heads they couldn't get it to run right. Apparently the guys who did the water pump and timing failed to put it back together correctly and stripped out the bolts on the water pump. Had to pay an extra 800 fee what these guys already charged me 600 to do. Nope never again.

The best repair shop in Lafayette, IN, I have 12 kids and step children, and 25+ grandchildren. Hector and Lalos have fixed many cars for me, They stand behind what they fix. Hector and Lalo went above and beyond to help me! They fixed my car in one day (pretty big job) because I needed it back for work. They were super nice and not annoyed with all my questions, and to put the cherry on top they changed my oil for free! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Last January, my car broke down suddenly a few blocks from Herreras Auto Repair shop. I looked up the closest mechanic and was able to drive it to Herreras Shop. It turned out to be the transmission. Despite the fact that I walked in without an appointment and he was busy, Hector looked at my car quickly and explained the problem to me. I didn't know what to do and called around several places to get estimates, but everyone was going to charge me much more than Hector. He repaired the transmission (rebuilt it) in a few days, and it has been in great shape ever since (it's been nearly a year now). Hector is extremely kind and more than fair with his prices. I'd recommend Herreras Auto shop to anyone!

Some friends referred me to this Herreras Auto repair, they all told me the prices and services were good so, I took my car for a break diagnosis/change, Mr. Hector did a very good job describing the problem and fixing it. My breaks are good now, rotors and breaks pads from the front and rear were changed. I paid a reasonable amount of money a lot less than previous estimate from other place. My car is working well, I hope it will continue like that. So fa so good, If anything change I will let them know.

I have used. Herreras for several years. His work is good. Hector is such a Gentleman. His work has always been great. The other Mechanics there are great too. I have recommended Herreras to several people. I never worry about being ripped off . Herreras is very reasonable.

Shop is great for mechanical systems issues but lacks some diagnostic capabilities particularly in transmissions. Nonetheless, it is one of the cheapest and most reliable shops in town for mechanical problems. I give it 5 stars not because it is perfect, but because it does the exact job it tells you it can do, for a lower price than other local sources

Hands-down the best mechanic I’ve ever been to. Before I found them, I hated going to the mechanic’s, and always suspected I was getting cheated. Herrera’s isn’t flashy, but they’re honest and they will fix your car. They do good work, they do it quick, and they charge a fair price. My daughter and I drove her new-to-us vehicle from Madison, WI to Purdue for a college visit. Halfway to Chicago i realized I never took it to my excellent mechanic to give it a once over. But, too late at that point. Saturday morning we decided to take a little tour around the area to get a feel for it. And of course just as we were getting ready to drive home, the check engine light came on. Almost 300 miles from home - not a good feeling. I started looking for repair shops. I saw Herrera's was open. The reviews all said how pleased they were with the service and what a great guy Mr. Herrera is. Turns out the reviews were all true and then some. I explained the situation. He offered to run a diagnostic and possibly if it was a quick job he could do it, but he didn't want to promise anything. Turned out it was a coolant sensor and he called for a replacement part immediately. He said we didn't have to do the repair- he could return the part if we didn't use it. He wasn't pushy or impatient and was not at all condescending when he explained the problen. I gave him the go ahead and much sooner than I expected it was finished. My daughter and I were surprised at how reasonable the bill was. I realized later that I set myself up to get a highly inflated bill by being honest about our situation. Fortunately Mr. Herrera was just as honest back. I cannot thank him enough, nor can I recommend him highly enough. If my daughter chooses Purdue and has a car with her, she will use Herrera's for service even though there are probably places closer to campus.

Hector Herreras is a hard working, honest mechanic and has gone out of his way to accomodate us to get our work vans repaired when we had a time crunch. He stopped what he was doing and did our job that took about an hour one Saturday. His rates are very reasonable and his quality superb. He takes pride in doing a great job. We have had him work on about 5 of our vehicles and each time he explains things very well. It is nice to actually be able to talk to the mechanic that works on your vehicle to hear what they repaired, instead of a sales person at a desk. I would recommend him to anyone that wants a reasonable price for an excellent job done. Thank you Hector!!

I've taken my vehicles to Herreras for more than 15 years. They always do good work for a fair price. Hector and Lalo are honest and trustworthy and are patient as I try and describe my car problems. They never try and sell me extra fixes that the car doesn't need. My one regret is that I've told too many friends and family, so now I have to share

I was out of town from Ohio and fuel started spraying out of the top of my gas tank as the metal fuel pump seal had failed. I quickly looked at reviews of shops around me and he was about half a mile away, so I hobbled the truck to him. He was kind enough to put it up in the air and look at it with me right away. We established it needed the new fuel pump. I helped him take the gas tank out. He took driveshaft out and had the new fuel pump in within 2 1/2 hours and we had everything buttoned back up, and his pricing was very generous for such a last minute operation on a holiday weekend at THAT! Hector is incredible and transparent and you can tell he cares about people! He was about to go home when I pulled up and he was closing up shop, yet he stayed an additional 2 1/2 hours to help someone in need out. You don’t find that in the service industry any longer! Hector is a real modern day hero and I would highly recommend Herrera’s!
