Went in with a huge list of things i needed or thought i needed to get my 4runner back into tip top shape. John worked with me and told me what i needed now and what i could put off for a bit. I knew it was a lot of work and rhe price was fair. My 4runner is running amazingly now. This will be my go to spot for my 4runner and my fianceés Sequioa from now on.

Why this husband and wife team doesn’t have more reviews is beyond me, but these guys took care of me. I needed my water pump and timing chain replaced on my 95 Civic hatch so they put me in the books, ordered parts the day before, and finished up my car within a few hours of opening up shop for the day. I could say more good things but then that would ruin the surprise.

Wendy/John have been an absolute blessing for me. I'm a young guy who has brought 3 different cars here over the last few years (93 accord, 03 accord, 00 camry). It's very stressful trying to take a car in for service at the dealer and many private shops can feel the same. Having trust in your shop is extremely valuable and Japanese Car Specialties is the best ever. Wendy has always given me advice on what we should fix, what isn't worth fixing, etc. An auto shop that actually cares about the client, wow! Thank you John and Wendy!!!!!

The best mechanic around, bar none. Knows the cars he works on better than Toyota themselves. Uses genuine parts whenever possible. Very fast turnaround time which means less money for labor. Family owned and operated. There is nothing that John cannot fix. Wendy, his wife, is the receptionist, very nice and accommodating. If you own a Japanese car, look no further! Jon also drives Toyota trucks, I love a mechanic who drives what he works on, truly means that he loves what he does. A few of the cars I've brought to John: 1987 4Runner turbo 4x4, 1999 SR5 4x4 5-speed (that John helped me convert from 2WD automatic, how cool is that), 2000 4Runner SR5 4x4 (used parts to convert 99), and 2004 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition. Always great work!! Always satisfied!!

John and Wendy are the epitomy of a true mom and pop mechanic shop. John is an honest mechanic that knows his stuff and doesn't "blow smoke". I spent $$$$$ at so many shops near and far to diagnose and fix an aggravating problem to no avail. My tire shop referred this shop and was it was very close by. What did I have to loose. John had it diagnosed and fixed in 4 hours and no parts. Needless to say this where I take my land cruiser in the future. They are a small shop and John does 90% of the work himself. Hence there is a significant backlog. It takes a couple of weeks or more to get your vehicle in.

John is the man! I am a car enthusiast and I usually don't trust anyone to work on my personal vehicles. I would trust John on any and every day of the week. This guy knows cars better than most people know themselves. Nothing gets past him. Best of all, he's HONEST! John and Wendy are so nice and so honest. I've been going to them for a short time but they treat me like I've been there forever. Came in because I thought I was having a starter issue. They ordered the starter but then realized it wasn't the issue. Instead of charging me $600 they got the car running and returned the part. They could have still charged me and I wouldn't have known better. That says a lot about them.

Hands down one of the best mechanics in Orange County. I didn't mention technician because a true mechanic is very hard to come by and John along with Wendy provide the most outstanding service! I have a 05' Toyota Highlander which needed a new timing belt along with some other odds and ends. Japanese Car Specialities did not disappoint. They are the most honest people in the industry that I have found. 100% no regrets!
