I thought i had a problem with my suspension because it would make a popping sound when i turned at slow speeds. I had already had my ball joints replaced and thought it was time to do it again. They diagnosed it for free and then also checked up on an engine light. They found that there were no problems except a loose cover under my truck, they tightened it for free and didnt charge me anything for their service. I can say now that i will be doing all my auto business with Jarvis.

Honest mechanic and people. I was having problems with my transmission and brought my Jetta in to diagnose what was wrong with it. I was told that there was nothing wrong with transmission unless under certain conditions, and that there was nothing they could do unless wait for the problem to turn into something that was actually fixable. I am a young woman who knows next to nothing about cars so I was apprehensive about taking it in to be seen, assuming that I would be charged excessively or talked into buying something that wasn't necessary. I was happy to learn that that was not the case with these people. They spent over an hour looking at it, explained to me their recommendations, and sent me on my way without charging me anything. I just moved to San Diego and am happy to have come across this mechanic--now I know where I am going for all my oil changes and other maintenance!

My 2008 Chevy Express had a charging system issue, and I'd had it for less than 1 week. Of course the car lot in LA that I bought it from refused to do anything about it, and not knowing any mechanics in the area, I decided to go with one with good reviews. I had already tested the alternator and the battery and decided that something was wrong with the wiring. I have 5 kids and a wife and so I desperately needed my van up and running asap. Withing 15 minutes of walking in, Jose was determined to take care of me and his wonderful neice was especially nice and gave my son a bottle of water as we were waiting. Within a half hour Jose came to me, said that he knew that the problem was the wiring to the alternator and he would have it fixed and have me out the door for $150. Definitely 5* for professionalism, courtesy of his staff, and the speed at which Jose got me back on the road again in our family's van. I will not be taking any of my vehicles anywhere else. Jarvis Auto has earned my business for the long haul and anytime I have a vehicle issue, I'm going straight back to them!!! Thank you Jose and neice, and God bless!!!

If you are looking for an honest repair shop this is your place!! They are amazing! We take all of our cars here when we need work. They are friendly and they don't charge you any "extra fees" like other places (Pep Boys you know who you are!) I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else! Monica, you are the best!

I registered with Google just so I could leave this review. I have been to many mechanic's shops and dealers over the years and after visiting Jarvis for the first time yesterday, I will never bring any of my cars anywhere else - nor will I allow any of my friends or family to go anywhere else from now on. I needed a new clutch, and not only did Jose take care of me at a price significantly cheaper than the 6 other places I called, but he also replaced two broken transmission mounts that they noticed while he was down there without charging me any labor (as he didn't want to charge me extra when he didn't quote me for it). To top things off, they also noticed that my oil filter was expired, so he changed the oil and put in a new filter on his dime (even using synthetic oil, which is more expensive) - just to earn my business. To top everything off, I dropped the car off at 8:30am, and he had it done by 2:00pm - and let me tell you, most shops would take at least a couple days to replace the clutch, if not all day. The car runs great, the clutch feels brand new, and I couldn't be happier. You will not go wrong with Jose and Jarvis Auto - I would guarantee that.

Jarvis is awesome! I had a issues with my Volvo XC70 and got quotes of $1332 and $1454. Jose said he could get it done for $1000. After diagnosing the problem, and realizing it wasnt what we thought it was, I ended up paying $377 AND getting A/C done as well. Any mechanic couldve gouged me knowing I expected to pay $1k or more. If you have car trouble, go here!!!

I have never had any issues or problems with them. Their prices are fair, and the work gets done right the first time. For me, my first time their I had impaled my car with a piece of rebar. It destroyed my radiator and condensing unit. I had to work the next day. I got their at 3pm and they had me out the door in three hours. I have not had trouble with those parts since. So to recap, great shop, good honest people, highly recommend.

I brought my transmission out of my van to them to be rebuilt on a Friday. Jose told me they were real busy and it would be a week before I got it back. It was ready Tuesday evening, 3 days early The shop was clean,, the mechanics are friendly, Jose gave me an estimate and stuck to it even though he replaced a bunch of parts that was not anticipated. Monica in the office was a treat to deal with. I'm very pleased. Although Jose has a large shop with quite a few employees between him and Monica they run a tight ship..... (Whatever that means)

In San Diego on a family road trip and the Subaru Outback starts making a noise that keeps getting worse. We still had 800 miles to go, so I had to take it somewhere to get it checked out. What to do? Check Google, of course! There were glowing reviews of Jose and his shop, so I called and spoke with Julia who was super nice and helpful. I dropped it off at 9 am the next day. They diagnosed it for free, replaced a bad belt, checked the charging system, and had it done by noon. Car ran sweet the whole way home, no noise, and no fears of breaking down in the desert! I got lucky finding Jose and his shop - I just wish he had a shop in my town! This is my first Google review. My experience with Jarvis was so good, that I just HAD to share and support the other great reviews of this shop! Car is still running like brand new, by the way.

Jose was honest, kind and understanding. I’m 26 and just moved by myself to San Diego from a Midwest city looking to buy a car. I called ahead to ask if Jose could check out a possible car I was interested in purchasing from a salvage car company. I was running late and he still held a spot for me on a Saturday. He allowed me to talk to him privately, away from the salesman, to tell me about his concerns about the car (thankfully weren’t very many concerns). I paid $120 for him to check out the car which was 100% worth it to me. He’s an honest and reliable mechanic which is rare to find. I would recommend him to anyone.
