Joe and his staff run an honest, high-quality, and fairly-priced business. He'll give you options to work with based on how much you want to invest or how much you can afford, which was incredibly valuable to me during the financial hardship of the pandemic. He's honest about what they can and can't do, will never try to upsell or use manipulative sales techniques to skimp on work and maximize profits. He does the job right at a reasonable price, and will always work with you to provide whatever he can within your budget. We had a major engine issue in a car that was (rarely used, so a slow oil leak went unnoticed until it was too late) and ended up having to get the whole engine block replaced, and he quoted me a $1000 less than any of his competitors, which I quoted with 10 different shops prior to getting the recommendation to go to him. He did the work as quickly as possible and even threw in a towing job for free because he knew it was a major expense and any money I could save was a huge help at the time. It was finished within just a few days, and has been working fantastic ever since. A few months later I had to go back to get some other minor work, and then again recently for some issues from a hit-and-run while I was parked on the street, and he helped both times, with the same excellent experience, reasonable rates, and high quality service I'd come to expect. Great people running an excellent shop that gives "small town" service and quality in the middle of the city. I would recommend his shop to anyone doing any kind of standard repair work, and I won't go anywhere else.

Been going here for years. Trustworthy and affordable. Family run. Nice people. I don't know enough about cars to rate a mechanic based on skill or price. I judge mechanics on whether they do what they say they will, whether the deliver service promptly, and how upfront they are with me. Joe and his family score five stars across the board. Over the years, Joe has offered to bill me a month later to help with a big $$$ repair. He has loaned me a car computer thingy for a weekend to help pass a smog test. And most importantly he listens when I tell him I don't want to fix every little thing... But to just keep my old car running. I plan to keep returning to Joe's.

Bad Mechanics or scammers On 10/14/24 I took my van to Joe's Auto because my HVAC blower was stuck on high. I could not shut is off. he told me it would be a $150 diagnostic charge. I told him i already knew what the problem was, It's the blower motor resistor but he told me he had to do a diagnostic. so i said ok and he kept the vehicle.The next day he called telling me the blower motor had a short and have to be replaced along with the other components. and it would be $784. I paid him the $150 diagnostic charge and took my vehicle. I went to another shop who charged me $83 for the blower resistor, $26 to replaced my extremely dirty air filter which probably caused the issue and $50 for installation. if you do the math that's $162. I waited this long to post a review because I wanted to make everything was ok and there wasn't a short like he said, after almost a month i can say everything is fine, no more issues. For the free $150 I gave to Joe's auto i could have fix my vehicle. Always get a second opinion even if they lock you in with a diagnostic fee.

I just realized that I haven't written a review for Joe's after a decade of bringing all my family's cars to him. Joe is a gentleman who knows cars extremely well and his mechanics are top-notch. We trust his word and his work. All the people working there are friendly and knowledgeable. Very convenient location, as well. Prices are fair and we've always been pleased with the speed with which our cars are repaired.

Truly great service!! As a woman who hardly knows a thing a bout cars, I felt completely informed and not intimidated one bit after taking my car to Joe's. My car was having problems starting so I had it towed to Joe's shop. They said they would take a look and it and get back to me. They were able to diagnose the issue within a few hours. I had a broken alternator and a bad battery that was leaking. They said they could order the parts and have it ready by EOD. They called me closer towards the end of the day and said that there was an issue with the alternator that they ordered and that it would be ready the following day. I picked up my car the following day and Joe himself explained why it took an extra day to fix. The original alternator they ordered was defective so they had to order a replacement. He showed me my parts and explained that the battery light on my dash is still going to light up due to a blown fuse in my computer. He said my car is perfectly good to drive and that he wanted to fix the computer so that the battery light would turn off but he would need to order a new computer. He explained that a new one would cost around $1000 from Ford and did not want me to pay that as it was not necessary. He went out of his way to try and search for a used computer which ran between $30 - $50! Unfortunately, he couldn't find one that matched but he said he'd be on the lookout. Process was incredibly fast, and the customer service was amazing. I will 100% be returning here if my car ever has any issues. Couldn't recommend this shop enough!

Car had been sitting in Long Beach for 6 months while working on the islands. We arrived back to a car that wouldn’t start. Tow company said it was not the battery and most likely a bigger issue. We got it towed the next morning to Joe’s. They got us in right away and ended up diagnosing the car. Turns out it was the battery that went bad and they got us up and running within a few hours. I appreciated their honesty and professionalism. I would recommend them to anyone!

Gave Joe's Auto Center my first try recently and found a friendly, attentive and knowledgeable team there. Like all reputable mechanics, Joe's AC charges a diagnostic fee that is applied toward any repairs to be done. My situation was one where any mechanic could have taken advantage of me and charged for unnecessary work, but Joe's AC didn't; they saved me A LOT of money. I trusted them enough to return the following week to request a full brake job (which I knew was needed).They did excellent, thorough work, and went the extra mile to make sure I was pleased and confident in choosing them. I highly recommend Joe's Auto Center.

This place is fantastic. I stopped in without an appointment and was immediately greeted by Adam who went to my car to take a look at what was wrong. He explained what was wrong and how it could be fixed. Turned out to be a minor fix that took less than 15 minutes. If they only knew how much anxiety was lifted from thinking it would take all day and cost an arm and a leg. These folks are masters at customer service and their rates are very reasonable. Guess I found my new home for auto repair!

I have been a dedicated customer of Joes auto on wardlow for over 4 years now. Joe has always been kind, helpful and honest. Now that FRANCIS is running the place i am so disgusted by how i was treated. Came in to get an inspection and he told me it would be 200. told him i would come back when they opened and when i did, he told me he could not help me!!! back story: i came in 4 months ago and paid 150 to see what was wrong with my driver side window and why it wouldn't roll down. after the inspection, FRANCIS told me i needed a new switch. they replaced it and it still did not work. they apply the inspection fee to the service and since i also got an oil change, i didn't owe anything. in fact, they owed me change but that was irrelevant to me. come back this morning to pay the new 200 inspection fee so he can continue to check my window, oil change and to find out why my car dies when i turn the air on. he REFUSED to serve me. he said my car is too old (2003) and he did not want to work on it. i was shocked! so then i said, just an oil change he said no i don't want you as a customer!! im standing there in disbelief. it seems like he was mad that i didn't bring my car back after the new switch didnt work. mind you they removed it and no further work was done. just an oil change. i am so disappointed with the way i was treated!!!! dont come here !!!!
