I can't overstate the impact that JTB had on me, both as a musician and as a person. John is knowledgable, patient, experienced, and most of all, kind. He gave my passion structure. Practicing at home is one thing, but working with others as a cohesive unit is entirely different. JTB offers a much more holistic approach to your average music lessons and there is no doubt that my time there played an integral role in turning me into the well rounded musician I am today. Below is one of my first ever JTB concerts and the show I played exactly ten years later. JTB is where I built my foundation for everything I do today.

My daughter has been with joined the band for about a year now. She takes vocal and guitar lessons as well as being part of the band program. The Join the Band (JTB) organization prepares you to play live! If you have been sitting around at home playing guitar, keyboards, bass or drums and wondered what it would be like playing live in a band on a legendary stage you can easily fulfill that ambition by joining a rock band class at Join the Band. You don't have to be an advanced player. If you start out as a moderate player, as I did, you naturally learn the skills to become a better player just through practicing and performing.
I've been playing in the adult band section at Join the Band for the last 10 years and have played 45 concerts at great venues including the Whisky, Roxy, Catalina Club and the Mint. Join the Band provides you the convenience of coming to their studio at an allotted time each week and plug in and play with other musicians assigned to your band, all under the guidance of an experienced band-leader. You choose the songs you want to play and JTB has the charts and musical direction for over 1500 songs from Led Zeppelin to Carrie Underwood. They even offer guitar lessons for those wanting to develop their technique.
I can highly recommend Join the Band as a great organization for anyone who enjoys playing music and wants to take it to the next level.

Join The Band is fantastic. I've had the chance to live out my dreams of being a rock star! The teachers and staff are great and the experience has expanded my skills as a musician and allowed me to share music with my family and friends in ways I would not otherwise be able to do. I joined in 2014 and it has been my Tuesday night hang out ever since... My young son has played a couple of sessions and loves it, as well. The atmosphere is friendly and encouraging. The teachers are amazing musicians, patient and skilled in getting the best out of you.

Taylor has really helped our son find his voice. He loves his one on one sessions with him. It really helps him fine tune the songs he performs with his band.
And Ryan his band teacher has been wonderful working with my son and his friends over the past few years. He allows them the freedom to choose the songs they want and helps them excel as a unit. Their growth as a band has been a joy to watch!!

Join the Band has been amazing for our kids. They all have different types of support needs and all of their teachers have gone above and beyond to accommodate them. They are flexible with their curricula and know how to tailor their instruction to the interests and needs of each student. I've been participating in the adult program at Join The Band since 2009. I've had a wonderful experience and have improved much as a musician. Join The Band also has a great youth program and is a great place for a young musician to gain experience working with other young musicians and performing with a band on a major music venue stage. All their band leaders are fantastic musicians and they have a great teaching staff.

We’ve had a wonderful experience with Bianca as my son’s piano and voice teacher. Zak has been teaching our son how to play drums now for several months. He is very patient with him and makes the lessons fun. Our son says "he is the best music teacher ever and teaches me how to play my favorite songs!" He went from being a resistant student at times to now independently practicing on his own at home. My son has been going to Join the Band for a year and a half. What started as a chance to play modern music with a friend (instead of just the classical stuff with his teacher), has grown into great friendships with his band mates, learning new instruments, taking risks on stage, and even singing—which for a shy kid has been an amazing transformation to witness.
The program is run really well with excellent communication and flexibility from the staff, and with the best band instructors. Taylor, our band leader, is kind, patient, and creative. It’s a joy to watch my son and the band grow under his guidance!!

My youngest son has been taking piano lessons from Taylor at Join the Band these last few months and it has been amazing! I was hesitant how my 5 year old would do because he’s so young but Taylor is patient and kind and makes lessons fun! Bonus points for those scratch and sniff stickers he puts on the worksheets.
My oldest son is learning drums at Join the Band from Dan. Dan has also been just as great! My son really connected with him and is always excited to see him and learn new things. I think what my son loves most about Dan is that he talks to him like his equal, he doesn’t dumb anything down just because he’s 8.
I really recommend Join the Band. Communication is easy, there’s always a fast response to questions, and most of all my kids love going!

Best place for kids and adults to learn and grow in their musical journey! My son has been with Join the Band (JTB) since he was 5! He started learning the drums and is still learning with amazing instructors like Mike & Jake! My son enjoys music and is also learning the piano!
My daughter is now 5 and she just started piano lessons with Natalie, who is amazing with kids!
It’s been truly amazing to see my kids develop a passion for music and how much they have learned. My son is not only learning to play an instrument, but to play and create music with others! My son has had the opportunity to play in a summer band with other musicians and will be learning music production this summer!

The adult band program - where you rehearse for a few months with some other amateur musicians and do a concert at the end - is great. I've done it several times, all with teacher Taylor, who's awesome. He's great at helping people at all musical skill levels and can also sing and play with your band on pretty much any instrument.
