First of all, I really wanted to find a good mechanic who would give me a good diagnosis. Roy was really helpful and seemed to genuinely want to help. I took my wifes car to get checked and wouldn't start back up so I left it for a diagnosis. Roy called me a few days later and said it was the computer. I immediately started to check YOUTUBE to see how complicated or what is needed to change a computer on this particular car. It seemed very simple so I ordered a 800 dollar computer for me to replace. So, the computer arrives, I changed it and nothing. Had the SAME EXACT PROBLEM! I was shocked and thought "What the ****!". I paid for a diagnosis to K&J Auto Repair and spent 800 dollars to find out it wasn't even that. A friend with a 60 dollar scan tool came over and plugged in the diagnostic tool and it showed that there was a misfire in the ignition coils and that they needed to be replaced. We took 45 minutes to replace both coils and that was it! I feel K&J charged me for a diagnostic that wasn't even performed. I placed the old/original computer back into the car and runs like a dream. I had to return the 800 dollar computer with a very expensive restocking charge(they didn't want to take it back at all, had to put up a fight) and the time my wife didn't have a car. As mentioned before, I really wanted this to work out but feel like I was charged for a diagnostic that was NEVER performed and the FAKE diagnostic made me waste money and time. This is just my experience. I know not all businesses are always 100% but given FAKE diagnostic results seems like something I had to write about.

Best in the business! Family owned and operated by the Owner. Roy and his crew are professionals. Very knowledgeable and dependable. They are also amazing with classic cars. I wouldn't trust any other shop in Stockton.
