I can't say enough good things about Knight's Automotive in San Marcos, CA. They are hands down the most honest and reliable auto repair shop I've ever encountered. We have been customers for a number of years, including through their recent transfer of ownership, and I remain confident that the business remains in great hands with Jared and the team. The team takes the time to explain exactly what needs to be done and why, without trying to upsell unnecessary repairs or services. It’s refreshing to find a shop where you can trust that their recommendations are genuinely in your best interest, and that going above and beyond is the rule, not the exception. The quality of their work is exceptional, and they clearly take pride in what they do. I’ve been to other places where I felt overcharged or pressured, but at Knight's Automotive, I felt valued as a customer and respected.

I’ve been bringing cars to Knight’s for years. They are honest, kind and truly care about their customers. It is a family-owned company that invested in its community. Recently, when getting several things fixed on my 2011 4Runner, they also threw in a detail and it was AMAZING. They made the car look new! They got paint out of seats and waxed the outside to perfection. Do yourself a favor and make Knight’s your go-to for all your car needs!

I am not a huge reviewer, but I wanted to share the amazing experience I had here. I can't say enough good things about Knights Automotive! After taking my car to a dealership, I was told I needed over $2,000 worth of repairs—stuff like suspension and alignment work that seemed way too expensive. But when I brought my car to Knights for a second opinion, they were super honest and thorough in their inspection. They told me that my alignment and suspension were in great shape and none of the things the dealership suggested actually needed to be replaced (shame on Mazda of Escondido for being so dishonest). As a woman, I’ve had my fair share of experiences where I felt like I was being taken advantage of, but Knights changed that completely. They were kind, straightforward, and saved me a ton of money. It’s rare to find a repair shop that’s genuinely trustworthy, and I’ll definitely be coming back for any future services my car needs! Highly recommend them! Thank you guys for everything!

I was grateful to my friend Pat C., who recommended Knight's Automotive for the diagnostic testing that my 2006 Honda CR-V needed. The check engine light had appeared a few days ago and I was nervous about finding out the results from the catalytic converter reading. I am very grateful to have met Jeff and Isaac, who took amazing care, acknowledged my fears and showed me respect that I have never received as a single woman dealing with auto repair! Not only did they give me the real options, but they also gave me the full details of additional work that I knew would need to be done soon. (The car did not get serviced much when my stepfather owned it before his death.) I am beyond grateful to know the real picture and the recommended priority for the future service needs. As I prepared to pay, Jeff surprised me and did not charge me for the diagnostic as my "birthday present" in advance of Monday! I couldn't believe the consideration and integrity that was demonstrated. I am a client for as long as I am driving!! Thank you so much Team!

I first went here for a simple oil change, only to immediately get an engine malfunction warning the next day. My biggest mistake was coming back here because they claimed to have fixed the problem for a hefty $500 fee. It’s been about a week since I got my car “fixed” and I suddenly have an engine malfunction again. I wouldn’t trust this place to fill my tires with air! Save your money and go somewhere that’ll actually fix your problem.

It was an exceptional experience. It was my first time with Knights and all aspects of their service exceeded expectations. Their waiting room was clean, air conditioned, a coffee bar and bottled water and even comfortable chairs. My interaction with Jeff, their GM, made it seem as though I was dealing with a friend. He paid attention my tale of woe about my car as though I was his only customer. They are very customer-centric and they even offer a free shuttle service back to your home or office if you’re on a tight schedule. Here’s the best part, they fixed my car perfectly and at a good price. In the process Jeff and his team consistently displayed an abnormally high level of professionalism. Bottom line is that they are trustworthy and appear to have a high level of mechanical competency. I recommend them highly.

I have been a customer at Knight's for more than 20 years, and can't say enough about their great service! They are honest and committed to doing the job correctly. If there is ever any doubt about the quality of their service, the customer always gets the benefit of the doubt and they will do anything to make the situation correct and the customer HAPPY. They are my car doctors, and I am always confident driving my car that I won't have a breakdown. The ownership has changed hands in that time, but the commitment to great service has stayed the same. Up front, this place has all of these great reviews for a reason. Knight’s Automotive in San Marcos is a shop that operates with integrity and honesty. I don’t normally write reviews but I feel strongly that these guys deserve it. From an oil change and alignment all the way to helping diagnose issues and recommending how to handle the dealerships in the event a car is still under warranty, Knight’s has treated me with courtesy, professionalism, and has done amazing work. I trust these guys with my new(ish) car more than any dealership I’ve ever been to for work. I am imploring everyone in my family to start switching over to Knight’s as their go-to for any and all automotive work. The owner is also always around and engaging with the clientele. He is personable and always wants to make sure that the customer is taken care of. Thank you!
