Richard essentially stole $700 and 2-3 months of my time. I had to go in 5+ times with my entire family to get him to refund me most of the money for a lemon car he sold me knowingly. I highly recommend never doing business with him or Mastertech in any respect. If you look up Richard Acosta you will see he’s been sued multiple times, probably due to his shady business practices. He illegally buys and sells many cars (over the legal amount) without a license from the state. I reported him to the dmv and they said they have already received complaints against his business. I must also say that any positive review you see here is probably him/his family/his workers posting under fake accounts. I’ve never had a more unprofessional and frankly disastrous business experience in my life.

I have been taking my cars to Richard the owner for 13 years. He is a straight up honest guy who is a great mechanic. I had one of my vehicles break down in the middle of nowhere and Richard rented a trailer and send two of his mechanics out to tow my vehicle. He went above and beyond and didnt even charge me that much. He has even told my boyfriend how to fix certain things, so he doesnt have to charge me. When I've bought used cars I always take them to him to look at first before I buy. He has never steered me wrong. He knows his stuff. He is super busy so sometimes you have to call him and ask what is going on with your vehicle. Just bug him a little bit and dont worry he will get back to you and do a great job. I highly recomend Richard's shop.

I have taken my cars to Richard at Mastertech Automotive four times so far. Every time I have gone, the work was done quickly and the cost of his services have always been slightly to pretty significantly below his estimations. I really trust him after my last visit, where he repaired my car which was misfiring. I took my car into him before for the same problem about a year earlier; he changed my spark-plugs and the car ran fine for about a year. I took it into him again to find out what the issue was. It turns out there was something wrong with the spark-plug that he gave me on my last visit. Even though the faulty spark-plug wasn't his fault, he replaced it for free, which is actually a big deal on my car because changing the spark-plugs is about a four hour job on my car --you have to remove the engine manifold. In any case, good, cheap, and trusty service is what you should expect from this shop.

I was in automotive industry over 30 years - now retired - Richard and his crew at MasterTech are 100% honest and go BEYOND a 5 star service fixing your vehicles. His prices are always very fair and competitive in fact compared to other mechanical shops I personally think he should charge more since you GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR and he provides and does GREAT work always!!! If I could give 10 stars I would!!! Richard went above and beyond to help figure out my daughters car. Honestly he is one of the most honest, humble and trustworthy individuals in the business. I live in Vegas and my daughter lives in Reno and I trusted him beyond to take care of her car when I wasn’t even there! Richard is a great honest mechanic who knows his stuff. I have been taking my cars to him for over 10 years. When I first went to Mastertech I thought I was in for a major repair and told them so. Richard fixed the problem and wasn't what I thought it was and saved me hundreds of dollars. I recommend him to my friends and family. Check engine light came on and needed a couple of other items to be checked. Rich told me what he thought the check engine light was for and sure enough, he was right! The machine he used to check it said exactly what he diagnosed. He really knows his stuff! Assured me that my battery/alternator was fine and that I still had about 40% left on my brakes. Didn’t try to sell me on anything I didn’t need and didn’t even charge me for inspecting my vehicle. Nice to find a trustworthy mechanic! Thanks Rich!

I got turned around at UHaul because my truck wasn’t sending the turn indicator signal to the trailer I rented. I got turned around at 2 other shops who couldn’t even take a look for days. These guys stopped what they were doing, even though they were swamped with other work, and took care of my problem in 20 minutes. They saved my day. Awesome dudes and great problem solvers.

AMAZING!!! Richard, most lovely person. Even better, best mechanic I've ever worked with. He's been our mechanic for 14 years. This shows how good he is. My Father's car Lumina, the window came off the track. My parents mechanic said it would cost $300. Took it to Richard, he popped the cover off put the window back on the track, $25. He will tell you the price, and he's very timely! No one would ever go wrong with this mechanic!
