We had been struggling for awhile at the University to find a mechanic who would work on our smaller trucks and vehicles. Vince agreed to look at our DFSK Korean truck and see if he could help. He flushed the cooling system and diagnosed and fixed the radiator problem for a very reasonable cost. We will use Foster's again, thanks for the great service, Vince!

Cheapest, fastest smog check in Reno! Even without the Yelp check - in offer it was only $15.99! Check in brings it down to 9.99! Customer service is excellent. I will definitely remember this place the next time my car needs servicing.

From California heading to meet family in Elko. Debris noise from road and charging idiot light came on. Chevron from across street recommended. Mechanic was polite and attentive and quick. What I originally suspected as alternator failure was broken serpentine belt. We were back on the road in an hour with new belt installed! Well worth the emergency rate and extremely pleased and happy. Would definitely recommend Foster's to all.

Brandon and Vince are great guys. Very nice and friendly. But most importantly they know their stuff and their prices are very competitive. I would recommend them to anyone and my girlfriend and I are customers for life.

Dropped it in the morning, pickled it up after work. Car is running well. Price wasn't the cheapest, but was reasonable and service was excellent. Could've saved few bucks if I went elsewhere but had to wait a week. Vince did it the same day and so far I'm happy.

Excellent service. Very friendly, patient and courteous. I was waiting while the front desk rep was helping another customer. Their interaction was no different than mine. As they say, there aren't second chances at first impressions.

I am had to return my car for warranty work. I had this place replace some hoses. They ordered low quality hoses that did not fit with the engine. The car crept leaking and smelled terrible. I sent it in to have them fix the problem more than once, they could not fix the issue and they kept telling me there were new problems to fix, that were unrelated to the hoses. I agreed to one of their extra repairs that cost about a $1000. They claimed they did the work but would not give me the parts that they replaced. Two weeks later the car still smelled, still leaked, and now had a problem with the power steering. I drove the car over to a different auto repair shop. I asked the new shop to look at the car. Within 10 minutes the new shop asked me to walk into there shop and take a look at my car. They pointed out how none of the hoses fit properly and how they could easily be twisted or pulled free by hand. The lifted the car and showed me that the part I just paid $1000 to have replaced was still the factory original.. and was still leaking. I had to have all the work redone. Even with their work on warranty, I don’t trust them to do the job.

Heater core repair was done quickly, correctly, and at a fair price. The staff were helpful and responsive. It’s nice when a shop does a good job and actually acts like they want your business. I’ll use them again.

Brought my son's GMC Yukon in and was greeted by Vince the mechanic. Vince was very polite and genuinely concerned with the problem we were having. He didn't give me a bunch of opinions or assumptions he asked what happened when it broke down then determined the best bet was to do a diagnostic test to get rite to the problem. Didn't waste my time. Which I appreciated greatly. After the diagnosis was complete he called told us what's wrong and we had him fix it. He replaced the fuel pump.which meant dropping the gas tank. Thinking it would be 3-4 days he called us the next day about noon said it's finished come pick.it up. I was amazed and very happy. There's no one I wouldn't refer to fosters thanks to the quality and professionalism of Vince the mechanic.. thank you for NOT being a tell you a bunch of problems so we can get as much money from you shop. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!?

UNBELIEVABLY HORRIBLE. I have spent almost $2,000 here between 3 cars and yet, neither Brandon nor Vince seem to care that warranty work on my daughter's car (Jeep Grand Cherokee) is taking far too long. Apparently, WARRANTY WORK DOESN'T WARRANT ANY KIND OF COURTESY OR SEMBLANCE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER! Oh and Foster's charged me $55 for diagnostic - in other words, they charged me for looking at and determining that their work failed!!! But as I mention below, Foster's ALWAYS charges a diagnostic fee, even if you have them do the work or you're an established customer! Foster's worked on this particular vehicle in March of this year, replacing a power steering pump only to have the pump fail in October. Finally got around to dropping the vehicle off to Foster's last week Monday morning, and they called me late that afternoon (around 4:30 pm) to let me know that the vehicle needed another power steering pump, and some other things and estimates would be sent to me. Estimates weren't sent to me until the next day and after consulting with my husband, I told Foster's to go ahead with the warranty work for now; this was Wednesday morning before the Thanksgiving holiday. The following Monday, I received a call from Brandon that their order for the part didn't get processed until that day even though he had submitted it the Wednesday before. Therefore, the part would take 3-4 days, maybe Thursday. Vince and Brandon are nice guys and I enjoyed working with them previously, so I waited patiently. Today, I called to check and Vince had to check on the part before calling me back. Upon calling me back, Vince told me that the part won't likely be in until Monday, which would mean that Foster's will have had the vehicle for 2 weeks!!!!! COULD IT BE BECAUSE IT'S WARRANTY WORK and I'm not paying their exorbitant auto repair costs??? Sadly, I think so. All other times, with my other cars and including this one, either Vince or Brandon would tell me that the part needed would take a day or 2, only for the part to show up that day and work done the same day. WOW. I first brought my cars here based on the great Yelp reviews. Initially, it was a car for an oil change, then another for extensive work costing over $1,400.00 (Buick Rendezvous), then this particular car for the power steering pump. I thought that bringing my vehicles here would at least garner me some respect and perhaps, a sense of urgency. I kept bringing my vehicles here even after the estimates I'd be given would include the diagnostic and always extremely high. In fact, this is the place that gave me an estimate of almost $700 to replace a radiator on the Jeep, only to have another place give me an estimate for almost $300 less - and that was after having them work on all of these cars!! I don't enjoy writing negative reviews, but this place is not deserving of even the 1 star whatsoever. :(

Brought my vehicle into Foster’s believing it had a blown head gasket. After leaving it with them, they called to inform me within hours that my head gaskets were still intact. Whew! What a relief. They did a multi point check on the vehicle and did find things that needed attention and were very forthright and honest about what needed to be done. They beat every quote I received in town and do great work. I highly recommend their services. In today’s world, honest work is hard to come by (especially in the world of mechanics) but these guys are offering a great service. Thanks Foster’s, I will be returning to your shop for all my future auto needs.

Very great service. He changed the part the Diagnostic said it was, car started fine he said, but check engine light stayed on. He made sure the car was actually done with no shortcuts on his side. Awesome place to take your car. I will be using only this garage while I remain in Reno. Pricing was excellent.

I was having trouble removing my old cabin air filter and stopped by the shop to see if they could help. Staff took the time to remove my old filter, and even offered to install the new one. Fast, attentive service. Very pleased!

I am happy to say that Foster's gets an "A" for Awesome! I called the week before and made an appointment for the next week. Went in at 10 am, left the truck there, they called, diagnosed a water pump, thermostat, serpentine belt and replaced a spark plug upon request. Got it all done by 3:30 same day! My truck has never sounded better! They have all my future business!

Professional, fast, and generally available to get me in to the garage same day. They have excellent customer service without being overly chatty or insincere. My impression is that they are very competent. I think their prices for maintenance are very competitive. Larger repairs can generally be found elsewhere for less. But I trust these guys, so I generally just go here.

I was able to get an appointment within 48 hours. I dropped off the car and then about 2 hours later received a detailed diagnostic report about my car. That’s SUPER impressive!! No hard sale to do more work but definitely gave me recommendations. For example for tires to replace based on measured wear. Will definitely return and highly recommend.

Front desk women didn’t answer the phone for over 10 min. I got there at 7:40 on the dot (they open 730) and I asked to do a walk in oil change and she said they don’t accept walk ins because they don’t have time for that. There literally wasn’t any customer in the store, car in the bay or parking lot and I was able to leave my car for the whole day for literally a ten minute oil change. She didn’t even offer to set up an appointment just said they don’t have time. I left and went down the street and they took me right away and gave me a discount.

I have my engine oil changed at Foster's Sierra Auto Service recently. There are many good points I will say first: Their technician (Jush I guess) and Amanda were so informative and responsive for all my concerns and questions regarding the inspection they have done on the car. Even Jush took the car for a drive test to check if there is something wrong with the alignment or not (of course with my permission). He gave me detailed inspection sheet that I went through each item with him in person again. Generally I was satisfied with their service. Also they rotated my wheels with no extra charge. All the inspections were with no extra charge as well. The only downside for me was the oil price that they used. According to the picture and the quote I got from them, they used "Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy Full Synthetic Motor Oil 0W-20, 5 Quart" for the car and they charged me for $54.95 on that, however the same oil's price at Walmart or any other place is around $25 for the same 5 quarts. I don't know the reason for this difference between the prices but I recognized it the day after the oil change and did not tell them. I would appreciate it if they could at least explain the reason for that.
