Will not be a returning customer. The mechanic and desk staff were trying to upsell me on rotors I didn't need for $1000. Front desk staff were two nice guys, but they failed to provide any updates or explanations to customers the 4 hours I was there - other than the one started by the customer with the 'part to be delivered' issue. In the end, my vehicle's tires & brakes were correctly installed. My appointment for new tires & brakes was at 9.17.25 at 10:00. I arrived at 9:45, checked in, and sat in the waiting room with 5-6 other people. During my wait at about 12:00, another waiting customer with an early appointment couldn't wait any longer and left (he had waited for at least 3 hours & his vehicle hadn't moved from the parking lot). Another waiting customer spoke to the staff to find out why it was taking so long for her vehicle (which was in the garage and up on the lift). The staff admitted that they were waiting for a delivery of her part(s) before they could finish their repair. She told staff they should have notified her of this delay before starting work on her vehicle. She told staff to put her vehicle back together and she was leaving. This was now 3.5 hours into me waiting for my vehicle tires. At hour 4, my vehicle was almost complete. The desk staff told me I needed new rotors in addition to brakes - a $1,000 increase in my total bill. (I had just been to a dealership garage to get oil changed and inspected, they noted the vehicle needed tires & brakes. They indicated rotors were good.) I went to the mechanic working on my vehicle and he showed me the brakes and rotors. I asked to see a new rotor to compare the wear on my vehicle's rotor. They felt and looked exactly the same. I asked him what was the risk if I didn't replace the rotors, and he said that there would be a squealing sound when I braked. I declined the rotors and my vehicle's tires & brakes were replaced. I will not be returning because of wait time, lack of communication, and trying to upsell.

Normally only come here for tires, but I got a new set of Enkei wheels for my Civic Sport hatch. They were installed in a timely manner and the guys made sure I had everything we needed to get it done. Pretty clean install too, they took care of the wheels.

Had my brakes completely overhauled at Gerald’s 2 years ago and kept having problems constantly since then. I went back several times because of intermittent squealing of the front brakes and issues with a caliper that they said they had fixed. I’m very busy, working all of the time, as many of us are, and eventually I gave up and just drove the car because it was braking fine. Then the caliper went bad again and ruined my rotor—I had grinding noises pop up a week ago and knew something had to be done quickly before the car became dangerous to drive. Brought it to Mavis this time because they had just done a great job two weeks ago on my other car for tires and gave a great price on them. So I thought they might do a great job with the brakes too, and they did! Took my car Friday afternoon to Mavis, and they had everything fixed with the brakes by Saturday before closing. I drove my car for the first time in two years yesterday without any brake noise, and smooth braking that feels just right! Mavis has my business for Tires and Brakes and anything else they do from now on! I highly recommend this location at 8511 Dorchester Road.

I’ve been a returning customer at Mavis Tires & Brakes, and every visit reminds me why I keep coming back. The team is always kind, professional, and respectful of my time. Recently, I came in with some issues with my tires and tire pressure — even though I arrived a bit late due to traffic, they still managed to see me almost right away and took great care of my car. They always make sure I leave feeling confident and safe on the road. It’s clear they value their customers and go the extra mile to help. I truly appreciate their honesty and great service. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend them to anyone needing quality, trustworthy care for their vehicle! 🚗💨

The Mavis Tire hotline gave me a quote for tires comparing service to Gerald’s, Costco and Sam’s. They didn’t tell me about the hidden costs. Tire Mount and balance $25 per tire. Flat repair warranty $139. I dropped my car off at 11:00 and no one called to tell me the was ready , therefore I appeared at 2:00 to find the car in the parking lot. The shop stated customer service did supply need information although they charge $25 to schedule an appointment. I missed my medical appointment. It took an additional 20 minutes to check out.

Awsome, fast service. Came in with an emergency flat tire they jumped right on it and had me out the door like a NASCAR pit stop.

1. In and out for a tire repair in less than an hour [ no appointment ] 2. Told me about other existing issues and offered me solutions but didnt overly pressure a sale. 3. Staff stayed friendly and professional even though they were bogged down with relentless calls and rude customers. 4. Corbin saw that I watched him repair my tire and did not mind. In fact, he talked to me directly with mutual respect, calmness, and maturity. [ train him for more responsibilities ] 5. It was $30 with no relentless / senseless upsale pitches.

What a great experience! Briana was informative, knowledgeable, well spoken, and just a delight to work with. On top of a friendly environment, the price for wheel alignment was great. We were in and out in under 45 minutes. Would highly recommend. Thanks again!

I brought my car into this Mavis about a month ago, with the concern of a humming noise coming from my front driver side tire. They assured me it was my control arms and gave me a price. The quote they gave me was outrageous - $1400. The parts themselves were going to cost me $200 online - they quoted me $1190. All well & good - I provided my own parts and had them do the work. I picked my car up and the noise was still present. I returned the car to them, concerned about the same persisting noise and they informed me I needed two new tires and to replace my wheel bearings. I asked why this was not diagnosed when I originally brought it in - they could not provide me a legitimate excuse for their negligence. They offered me a small discount and a free oil change to “compensate” for the negligence. They quoted me just under $1400 for two tires and for one wheel bearing replacement. I shopped around and found a garage to do the job (two new tires and the wheel bearing replacement) for $500. The garage just called me and informed me that when MAVIS installed the control arms, they crossthreaded an axle joint and due to that an additional part needs to be replaced in order for my car to be safely repaired to drive. Disgusting behavior. I will never return.

We had a great afternoon with our Sigma Beta Club as they learned how tire rotation and basic car maintenance are done! The best part was watching them take what they learned and use a checklist to inspect their parents' cars. A huge thanks to Robert (the manager) and Ron (the mechanic) for generously sharing their time and expertise with us at Mavis Tire & Brakes on Dorchester Road in North Charleston, SC.

Brought my car in for an overheating issue and they quickly diagnosed an issue that I would have never caught and gave a reasonable price. The repairs were achieved in a reasonable time frame with what looked like a pretty busy schedule. Afterwards, they gave recommendations for future preventive maintenance with estimate for the work and parts based off mileage and wear to prevent future damage. Great experience and great results

This is the first negative review I have ever left, I believe in contacting a company and giving them the opportunity to fix a mistake vs. never saying anything and instead writing a negative review online. I am at a loss of what to do though. After visiting Charleston and getting a flat tire, we went to Mavis to get a new tire. A few weeks later, we discovered our spare tire was never put back under our car. We have called repeatedly for months now, trying to get our tire returned. The last thing to happen was that we were told the manager for the district would be coming to our area and would deliver it to us (we gave them our home address). That never happened. At this point we have been ghosted and are concerned we will never get our spare back. We just want Mavis to make this right.

Caught a flat and came in stressed — they took care of me immediately. Patched my tire quickly and checked the others to make sure I was good to go. Great customer service and a clean, welcoming environment. This Mavis will be my go to and will refer toy family and friends.

They were able to fix my tire and order a new one in a quick and efficient manner. The employees seem to have a very good grasp of their craft, and the prices were very fair.
