dropped my car off for an inspection, told them my jeep is under warranty and they would not be doing any work - no surprise, they didn’t take that well. on top of lying about things that need done and saying they wouldn’t pass my inspection, they lied and said they called my warranty too, to say that the work isn’t covered so they have to do it. the only thing that was required to pass a pa state inspection was my $1 license plate bulb, which they charge $48 to do. it may be the people there or may be because it’s corporate but it’s absolutely insane. don’t take your vehicles there unless you plan to argue with them OR plan to spend an unnecessary couple thousand dollars.

The guy at the register was too pushy and didn't want to accept being told no to going over all the recommendations for the car. It was already explained that I was only there helping my sister get an oil change in her car. It wasn't my car so I was not interested in being there any longer than necessary. He only stopped hassling me when I called my sister and she agreed to have the details sent to her. Prior to that there was an older lady who was trying to pay for her services and he repeatedly tried talking to her about all the recommendations for her vehicle as well and she asked him nicely to stop because she was unable to process all the information due to having several strokes. He ignored all her requests and kept talking. The lady became frustrated and firmly requested that she pay for what was done with her vehicle so that she could leave.

Aaron or whatever his name is is so rude. The online system let schedule a 4pm inspection and rather than politely explaining he doesn't control that he started yelling at me. Brother, someone asking 'why' isn’t permission for you to start screaming. This was AFTER he failed my first inspection for control arms using pictures of someone else's car. When I removed them they were not even close to what he sent as evidence. Also, the other things that were "critical" with my car ALSO were fine. So unless you have no money and are okay being ripped off just to pass an inspection because you know it'll fail and need to use his 'awesome bad credit approval' system, dont book here.

Edit: Still a five star auto shop! We had to have more repairs done in a timely manner due to an upcoming appointment I could not miss, but needed my van repaired quickly. Called on Monday and had it back by Wednesday. We are very grateful to have such a good mechanic shop so close! Thanks again guys! I truly appreciate the integrity this establishment has. We dropped a vehicle off for inspection and they were so thorough with review of it and laid everything out for us in regards to the work needing to be done. It was substantial which we were expecting. They offered many a solution for us in regard to payment, which unfortunately we decided just wasn’t feasible for us considering age of vehicle and current financial constraints. But here is where Meineke stood out for me. They were completely understanding and did not pressure us into making a financial decision we were not ready for. I have anxiety over this and the fact I feel only at ease speaks volumes. On a side note I have had another vehicle’s work done here and they really do the best job with both work on the vehicle and helping you figure out the costs and how to approach them. Thank you for operating with such integrity. It’s refreshing to see and experience. Keep up the fantastic work!

Updated review: Would not fill out my repair data form as I requested. Kept giving me the runaround when I requested the technician name and id number that did repairs on my vehicle, wouldnt give me the part numbers for the pieces they put on my vehicle Did not run a diagnostic test, thought it was just the same issue as another vehicle similar to mine, so they just told me my turbocharger was cracked and my cat converter was shot amd that fixing that would fix my check engine light. It did not fix it. So I brought it back to them again and told them im still having the same problem. They looked at it, couldnt figure it out, so WithOut asking for my permission they just went ahead and sent it to a different meineke! I didn't know about it until i called askimg for an update and then they made me track it down with the other meineke location. The other location didn't even know they had my car! They kept saying they didnt have it even when i saw it in the parking lot. They never did fix my problem i paid A LOT of money for, but I dont trust them to have my vehicle anymore and will not be using their service again I would rather take the financial loss than deal with them again.

When my car decided that it was time to get brakes done (the dreaded whine of "it's time to get fixed") this center ended up taking care of it. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable about the issues my vehicle was experiencing, and ended up explaining it in an easily digestible format. The prices are what to be expected in 2025 and they had flexible plans available to get this taken care of. I will be looking to utilize their services again in the future, if and when that occurs.

Bought a vehicle from CARAVANA in November. Unfortunately, the vehicle has been in the shop due to an engine light that came on and needing multiple repairs soon after receiving the vehicle from CARVANA in November. Rich was the gentleman at the front desk that I worked with at Meineke and handled the communication with me on the status of my vehicle. As for CARVANA delivering me a vehicle with defects and unable to get it inspected; Rich did what he could on the phone with the CARVANA warranty service (Silver Rock), who gave pushback to Rich on fixing certain critical need items on the vehicle. I applaud Rich and the mechanic/tech that worked on my vehicle while going through the frustrating communication with the warranty service. The vehicle is now home with me and will hopefully continue to operate without additional issues. Overall, I am happy with the service received at Meineke, while working with Rich at the front desk. I cannot say the same for CARVANA and their warranty service, Silver Rock.

Coming from the South, l'm in shock regarding the temperatures here. It came up on my car that my tires needed air. I googled and found Meineke on Market St. I was greeted with a warm Hello. Not only was air put in my tires. They went the extra also checking my water for my window washer and filled it. Thank Meineke for your wonderful service.

Do not bring your car here. I went in for a simple oil change and was told I needed $8000 in repairs. Went to another place, I passed inspection with flying colors. Management changed a few years ago and it hasn't been the same since. Also, all you can see in the waiting room is people coming in reporting the same issue happening with their cars after Meineke "repaired" them.

This is my first time at a Meineke, and it was the best experience I’ve had so far when it comes to car inspections. There was clear communication all throughout the process (when to drop off the car, when to expect follow up calls, inspection results, when to pick up the car). Being able to view the inspection diagnosis report through a link with detailed notes and pictures before approving next steps was very helpful. I really appreciate the clarity on what steps were recommended, what were critical, and what were required to pass the inspection. Thank you so much, Aaron!

I came in for a simple oil change only. Without asking or informing me ahead of time, a full vehicle inspection was done, which took much longer than expected. Had I been told, I would have declined, as I was limited on time and did not want additional components checked. I was also told through the online system that my rear tires needed urgent replacement. However, after taking my car to another company, I was informed that the issue was actually with the front tires, not the rear. That discrepancy is concerning. I value clear communication and accuracy. Inspections beyond the requested service should be explained and approved beforehand.

Please do not use this place. It was so bad that I had to report them to the better business burrow. I will say that they are not all the same. I went to two different Meineke in one week. When you call the Maineke central phone number and make the appointment it dose not mean that your appointment will appear on the shop schedule, unless you call the shop directly. I called and rescheduled my appointment through central phone number. When I showed up on time, I was told that no record of my appointment existed and the shop was booked that day. I thought that if I went to a different location and they have my information in the system, all will be well. I just needed my car to be reinspected after the problems were fixed. Originally I was quoted $1500.00 for the work. Well...by the time they were done with my reinspection, not only did my car not pass, I needed to pay $6000.00 to get it up to par. I was politely offered a payment plan...I was also told that I can use my tax return to pay at the later date. I will never use this place. Please get a second opinion when they tell you your car needs work done.

So I came to this Meineke on east market st in york because my muffler was rattling the low and behold, I was not told that they were going to do a full inspection which I think is completely ridiculous. When all I came in was for a rattling muffler all of a sudden, I have all these problems with my car from what they say. Then, the turnout they said, I needed a new muffler, and it was gonna cost me over $700. I told them absolutely not. And to wrap my car up. So I can go. This place is a scam. I can order a muffler online for under 50 bucks. I will never come here again. Beware stay away
