Charged us a ridiculous amount of money, and the vehicle had more wrong with it than when we brought it there. We returned to have it corrected and they did nothing. Considered small claims court, but who has the time or $$ for that. Very disappointed, considering this was a referral from a friend.

I bought a 1998 Toyota Avalon that was registered in Ohio and therefore hadn't been inspected in at least 4 years. I took it to this garage because I was told Bruno's was on Mellon St and I pulled into the wrong garage. To get it inspected they said i needed: rotors, tie rod end, catalytic converter, new tires, and maybe a couple other things. I also had them do the timing belt and water pump After i got my car back my left rear tire started to smoke. I found out that they re used a caliper that had been frozen. When i redid the work i found that the piston reciever was sheared and there was metal shard preventing the piston from retracting. This should NEVER have happened. I dont even know how the caliper could shear. Second, they put new rotors on but REUSED all of the old brake pads, which were split in half on two tires. Finally, the alignment feels off and the tires aren't tracking correctly. I take it to good year to get the alignment (which Mellon street Garage was suppsoed to do) and find out they didnt put a locking knut on the inner tie rod end where it connects to the rack and pinion and now goodyear wont touch it. This could have caused the collapse of my tire whilst moving at high speed. Final thoughts: I hope to GOD they actually did the timing belt and water pump because its not like i can check those easily. 0/5

Mellon Street Garage is one of the few honest mechanics that I've encountered over the years. They make an honest diagnosis and an effective repair for a fair price. They are also courteous and will go the extra mile.

Issac was very professional and friendly. After a trip from NYC to Pittsburgh, the part holding my muffler in place fell off. I took my 09 Honda Civic to Issac and explained that my engine was really loud and I believed the problem to be the muffler. He took a look, let me know what was wrong, and gave me an estimated pre tax price. He had to call the part in and about 1.5 hours later, my car was fixed and ready to go. The entire transaction was professional and informative, which is ideal for someone who doesn't know too much about cars. He seems like an honest man (hard to find in a mechanic) who does quality work. I highly reccomend going to Issac for any car issues you may have!

I recently moved out of Pittsburgh, but while I was there Isaac was my go-to mechanic. He is extremely trustworthy and was always kind and professional. When I wanted used parts to keep the price down, he knew where to find them, and when the work needed minor corrections he didn't charge me. I would typically ask for a phone call before any major work was done and he would always respect that.

I took my car here in an emergency. There were so many problems... 1- They said they would handle it the same day so I called off work to take in my car. They still hadn't looked at it several hours later so I walked back to take my car somewhere else. By the time I got there they had somehow done $400 of work on my car! 2- a month later I had the same problem. They blamed it on faulty equipment. A year later, I had the same problem again! I think it's the mechanic, not the equipment! 3- they never got permission to do any work, even when I asked in person and in writing to notify me before doing any work. Every other mechanic lets me know what they will do and how much it will cost before they do any work. It's common courtesy.

Great place! Customer service is amazing. Ask for AJ, he tells you exactly what needs done. Very honest people, doesn’t try to get over on women. I’ve been coming here for 2 years now and haven’t had any issues. Oil changes are reasonably priced compared to places like valvoline where i normally go.

The guys appear nice but will charge you for stuff you dont need without informing you. Then bill you and expect you to pay for it. Inspection/oil changes are higher than local competitors. Have been here about 4 times, and this was my last.

Excellent Service! I needed a quick oil change before my trip and they got it done under half an hour! Tae was incredibly kind and helpful, and Isaac the owner is extremely genuine and fascinating to talk to. I am so happy to have found a local business to support and will recommend everyone to come here:)

I can't say enough great things about these polite, honest, hard working gentleman. I'm a traveling FL girl new to the Pittsburgh area and found myself in a jam with a bad starter. They got me in the same day, replaced my starter, flushed and filled my transmission, and gave me a full synthetic oil change. My CR-V starts beautifully, runs like butter, and I will continue to do business with them to handle the rest of my small problems. Highly recommended! Can't thank you enough!

I was in town for work and my air conditioning went out on the drive to Pittsburgh. A colleague recommended Mellon Street Garage. They answered their phone, told me I could bring it in for them to take a look. They were friendly, accommodating and honest.
