Essa & Mike are outstanding people. They went above and beyond to have my vehicle serviced right before the new year holiday. Since I work 14hrs a day Essa made sure to set up a tow truck to pick up my vehicle from my job; which had a leaking radiator, serviced my vehicle and towed it right back to me at work. They are fair with their pricing but for some they may be too pricey however; they are worth it. I would highly recommend

I had an amazing experience at Midtown Center Auto Repair in Long Island City. From start to finish, everything was top-notch. If you need to get a NY State inspection done on your car, look no further than here. After calling and visiting a few other "inspection stations," I decided to bring my vehicle here. While the facilities may not be visually appealing or have a posh customer waiting area, the service was excellent, and the price was transparent. I met the owners, Michael and Leon, and they were very professional and personable. The rate for an inspection is $35/$37 (which is dictated by The NY State), so don't believe other shops if they give you a higher price. Definitely recommended and now I know where I will take all our cars when they need a NY State inspection.

My radiator exploded while I am out and about with my family on a Sunday afternoon. Luckily, Midtown Center was open and only 12 minutes away so as soon as they assured me that they can fix my car, i immediately went there to get my car fixed. Be very careful... These seemingly well-meaning men are very comfortable yelling at their customers, accusing you of lying and changing your story, accusing other dealerships of lying, and NEVER apologizing if they've made a mistake. Make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing first, and if you have any issues, be prepared to be yelled at. And of course they only take zelle.

Went for a simple inspection and left with a headache. Issa, the manager, has been mentioned in MANY of these 1-star reviews for being a scammer. Do your research. I wish I did!! Sunnyside auto, across the street is AMAZING and the guys are ethical, calm and do great work. GO THERE and thank me later!

The inspection guy is a scammer. He told me I only needed to replace a light bulb and that everything else was good. Then he removed my inspection sticker and asked me to replace more parts immediately or he would fail the inspection and he did fail me when I refused to pay more money. Next day another shop my car passed without any repairs, Avoid this location,,

I brought my car in for an overheating issue. They immediately claimed the engine was dead and quoted me $6,000 for a replacement. The diagnosis was highly suspicious, especially when they instantly tried to buy the car from me for the same $6,000. It felt like a deliberate attempt to take my car or my money. I took it home, replaced the thermostat for $18, and the car is running perfectly. Do not trust this shop. They will either grossly misdiagnose a simple repair or try to strong-arm you into selling them a perfectly fine car. Avoid them unless you want to lose thousands. update January 18th the car has no codes working perfectly fine, no engine issues, even took it to ford dealership and said the car has absolutely no issues, do your research before coming to this mechanic

Life comes with unexpected emergencies. While some shops didn’t see my issues as an emergency, Midtown Center Auto Repairs saw me as a human being and not just a sale. The night before, I had a collision that left my car unable to be driven right. The right control arm had been damaged as well as potential subframe warping. I was not in the best place financially, and worried about the potential costs involved. I expressed my concerns prior to bringing my vehicle in and told him my budget, which very well may have been beneath the value of the repair. Manager told me no worries, bring it in for a quote. I managed to back my car down the road to his garage. He wasted no time lifting the car and directing his superior staff of mechanics to diagnose the issue. Not a single unnecessary expense was billed to my sale. He made sure to do all of the things required to get my car back up and driving within 2 hours. He was compassionate enough to understand my financial plight, and kept me well within my budget. On top of that, he did small extra things to ensure that, even though we didn’t pay for it, he wouldn’t allow us to leave with an unsafe vehicle, so he did some small cosmetic work for me as well, free of charge, and placed my bumper back on. I simply came in and paid for mechanical repairs, on top of that, he saved me tons of time having to duct tape the bumper onto the car. When I say life saved, I literally mean it. This vehicle is my source of income, and he understood the urgency and prioritized me while still delegating work on all of his other clients. A true professional and an outstanding member of this community. The entire team will continue to see the benefits of their incredible work, I guarantee it! Thank you all so much!

Hello people, becareful going there for a car inspection. They scammed and failed my inspection test after I refused to change the tire on the spot. There is a black guy tries to scam me telling me I have to change all the tires which I really doubt about it. He was telling me my tires can blow anytime and tried to charged me $1100 for three tires and also telling me they was a leaked underneath my car and another $280 to fix if. . Wow unbelievable. Just went there for inspection and almost ripped $1400. I also got ticket coz my inspection date was expired on that day coz they failed my inspection purposely. Plus paid $38 for failed inspection and I tipped the guy too. Went for an another location for inspection and the repair guy was very professional and he said my car is totally fine no need to do anything and passed my inspection. Not sure they don’t want any customer in future.

This is a follow-up to my previous review, and once again Midtown Center Auto Repair exceeded all expectations. This time, I brought my car in for body work, and Mike and Essa were absolutely phenomenal. They were super professional from start to finish—fair in their pricing, courteous in their service, and transparent about everything. Before starting, they provided a fully itemized estimate, ordered all the parts in advance, and scheduled the repair efficiently to minimize downtime, which I really appreciate since I depend on my car for work. Their level of organization and expertise is impressive—they run a tight ship and truly know everything, not just about mechanical issues but body work as well. I have a Tesla, and many shops can’t handle them properly, but they did so with ease and precision. When I picked up my car, it was beautifully detailed, with the tires checked and pressure adjusted, and they even performed a full inspection before handing it back. They went above and beyond, touching up and compounding a few minor areas I hadn’t even noticed. Mike even took the initiative to order the aftermarket parts I had planned to buy myself, just to save me the trouble. That kind of thoughtfulness and customer care is rare. I called them at 6.30pm after putting gas in a diesel truck. They immediately sent a tow truck, emptied out the tank and got me back on the road by 8.15pm. They were very reasonably priced and everyone was so courteous and professional. The gentleman got me signed in and out the door in record time and the owner took the time to explain the process and put my mind at ease as this is my work truck. They also went above and beyond in their service and replaced a taillight I had in the truck for 6 months and repaired a flat tire in my car all in 90 mins. I will be using midtown for all my auto needs moving forward. Also they have a large clean space with a comfortable waiting area for customers. Definitely a 5 star experience
