I would never recommend this place to anyone. Took our car in for a radiator leak. At first they couldn’t find the leak so I explained where it was leaking from. They found the leak called and let me know we needed a new radiator along with other issues no biggie. I come in and asked to look at the problems they said we also had with the vehicle and when going back to look at the vehicle the manger explained that his technician “exaggerated” about the issue and wasn’t a main concern. I hesitated to even have the shop fix anything due to the “exaggerated” response but I knew the radiator needed to be fixed. After the completion of the radiator the owner “Mike” took our car out for a test drive and wrecked the vehicle. At first he was willing to fix everything and make things right but with back and forth talks between us he decided to back out due to the lack of “trust” we had with him. Insurance company has been involved and “Mike” did so much damage to our vehicle that it is now a total loss. Mike may have been in business for many years but I think now it’s time for him to retire. Mike and his son may not be the best people to work with.

I paid $550 for an alignment and camber adjustment kit. I had to go back a second time because it went out of alignment again shortly after. It was a battle to retrieve my car since the rear brakes were bad and they attempted to hold the car unless it was towed or fixed. They ended up driving it to my place. In the end it worked out, but I didn't have the best experience. I will say they did offer to not charge me after the brake confrontation, but I paid since it's only fair to pay for the work done.

I was recommended to Mike's by Jaguar. Admittedly, I was a little nervous about taking my vehicle somewhere, due to past experiences of shady mechanics. I have to say, this was a totally enjoyable experience. Ken assisted me in trying to troubleshoot my issue over the phone. When that didn't work he assured me that I could have my vehicle dropped off and they would take a look at it, After having my vehicle for a day, he informed me that the issue did not present itself and rather than guess at what it could be, he'd rather I bring it back when it was malfunctioning again. After a week or so, the issue returned and I tood the vehicle back. The issue was diagnosed and I was told that the part would have to be ordered. Long story short, the part arrived and was installed. The work took exactly as long as quoted. The part works and and looks much better in the vehicle than what the original did! The thing that sets this place apart from others, is that they CARE! I overheard Ken speaking with a customer who they had not had time to contact earlier to give an update on their vehicle. He admitted that it would take a little longer than expected but if she had somewhere to go or needed to go grocery shopping, they could pick her up and take her wherever she needed to go. I will most definitely be taking my vehicle back for any and all work that may be needed in the future, as well as recommending everyone I know to go to them.

Awful customer service. I left my vehicle for a tune-up. When I returned, the bill was more than $2,000. I told them that I hadn't authorized that amount of money. My husband was in hospice & my emotions prevented me from arguing. Mike told me that they tried to call me. There was no evidence of a call. The woman was quick to give me an application for a CARE credit card application & a pen. That's how I paid. Three months later the vehicle wasn't running well. I took the same vehicle to RJM. They called me with a list of needed repairs. I authorized payment of $1,500. When I picked it up,the itemized repairs were nearly identical to Mike's shop. I showed Mike the bill from RJM and he was horrible about it. He said RJM's invoice was a list of suggested items for service from the manufacturer. By then I was planning a funeral & again not up for Mike's awful attitude.

I was pleasantly surprised he and his team were able to (find a part from around the world and) get his amazing mechanics on it straight away!! I contacted them on Thursday, and by Monday morning, they had me in and out before noon — all issues completely fixed. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. I took my 1974 nova here about two weeks ago with quite a bit of work to be done on it. I had to search for a bit to even find a place that would work on my older car but these guys were up to the challenge. I needed my carb tuned, my engine timing fixed, my brakes changed, two rear tires, and a stall converter removed and replaced. I had only bought the car 2 days before taking it to them and had driven it very little beforehand but I knew it had some issues. Gary and Ken have been working with me very diligently to make sure I got the right things fixed and in a timely manner. They've really changed the way my ride runs and I'll be bringing it back here for all my needs.

Scammers with a smile:( I could write a paragraph about my experience. Most folks need to be able to trust their mechanic because of lack of knowledge. Unfortunately for “Mike” I’m not one of them. Steer clear of this place. If you’re like me and have to take your vehicle here because warranty preference, don’t let them do any other work outside of warranty. Unless it’s unsafe to move your car to another mechanic. Don’t let the charge you taxes on the entire warranty covered cost. Don’t let them force you into one of their rental cars by intentional delays. The car they provided was out right scary and a prime example of their technical ability. Not to mention they charged the warranty an extra rental day, because it allows for seven. When I asked about the extra day, I was told, “don’t worry you don’t have to pay for it”. I could on. STAY AWAY!!!!

A few years ago I pulled in just before closing with a weird noise coming from under the hood. The staff was genuinely interested in helping even though he was closing up, turns out my serpentine belt was unraveling. I left my ride there and was offered a ride home and later a ride back to retrieve my vehicle. Service was helpful, fast and affordable. They made a stressful situation so easy and manageable. I normally take my car to Toyota for service but Mike's Plum Street Auto is a 6minute round trip drive from home, they have consistently received 5 stars and I didn't want to have them tell me that I needed a bunch of work done on my car like Toyota would. Everyone I encountered was really friendly, great customer service, nice clean shop to sit and wait. 45 minutes after I arrived Kodi told me my oil change was done and everything looked good. I'll recommend this shop to anyone who needs their car serviced.

A week ago today my car broke down due to an alternator issue. I’m not familiar with Olympia so I relied on reviews to decide where to fix my car. Out of every automotive, Mike’s by far surpassed everyone else, and for good reason. I have never been able to trust a dealership or mechanic so even writing this says a lot about their service. The staff had the best customer service I have experienced and a week later my car has never been better. I truly recommend this place, they will do their best to take care of you. I took my Mazda Miata to Mike’s because it was starting to blow blue smoke from the exhaust. Mike’s team did a diagnosis and told me about their recommended course of action. I approved the plan. When the job was completed, I drove the car home. After the car sat for a few days, I started it to go to the store. Immediately it began to blow blue smoke again very badly and did not run well enough for me to drive it. I told Ken, Mike’s service advisor, what happened. He gave me a number to call to get a tow truck to bring the car back to their shop. Ken assured me that they would diagnose the problem at no expense for me. Mike and his team determined that it would require a different engine to resolve the problem. Mike assured me that it would be dealt with to my satisfaction at their cost because he felt responsible for his assessment of the original problem. True to Mike’s and Ken’s words, the car was fixed completely. They went above and beyond my expectations to assure that I had a reliable and safe car when they were done and they did not charge me for any of it. I highly value Mike’s Plum Street for their integrity and exceptional customer service.
