Last week, I was on my way to work one morning and my car started to run hot (60 miles from home ). I literally googled mobile mechanic near me and Mobile 1 was the first option. I read a few reviews and decided this was my best option. The mechanic came to my job, replaced my water pump and had me back on the road within a few hours. He also called me the very next morning to make sure that I made it home with no issues. A week later, still no issues. I was very pleased with the kindness, honesty, prompt and professional service that I received!!

We called Eddy to do a remote diagnostic after AAA did a battery check on our daughters car. We are 1500 miles away. He answered the phone quickly and came out the next morning. Behold two bad batteries. Gave us a quote, picked up batteries and quick install. We were looking at towing the car and a $200 diagnostic fee at a garage. Fair price, prompt service, responsive and courteous. 100 percent satisfied!

Mr. EDDIE WAS WONDERFUL!!! He found out the problem and tried for almost 2 hours to fix it without having me to pay for an expensive part. When he was unable to fix it, he let me know exactly how much it would be to replace it. I didn't have the money for that at the time, he understood and even drove my truck over to son's apartment to get it out of a business parking lot, to save me a towing expense. Believe me when have the funds he will be my first call. Awesome experience!

There are two prongs to this review that lead me to leave 3 stars: service (5/5) and cost (1/5). For context, my Honda CR-V wouldn't start. I called Mobile 1 and Eddie came to troubleshoot. He originally thought that I may need to replace my starter, which would cost upwards of $700 with the part + labor (this seems pretty typical for this kind of work). However, upon further investigation, it turned out that I needed a new battery, which he charged me $355 to replace (this does NOT seem typical for this kind of work). In terms of service, Eddie was great. He came within a couple of hours to help assess my issue, wanted to double check that the issue was what he thought, and ultimately got everything resolved the same day. I appreciated that to no end. However, the fact that I paid over $350 for a battery replacement makes me question his trustworthiness. I didn't realize that this was out of proportion until I spoke to some friends about it later in the day who were SHOCKED that someone would charge me that much. The battery itself was definitely less than $150 and the rest was 'labor.' I never claim to know very much about cars and as a woman, that's likely easy to take advantage of. However, I paid it at the time because Eddie had very much represented himself as doing business in an honest way. Pricing transparency is seriously lacking among mechanics in general, but thought I'd drop some concrete figures for anyone considering this business. I was told by several people that I should never have paid that much, so hopefully you can learn from my mistakes -- ramen dinners for me for the rest of the month for being naive, I guess.

Absolutely wonderful person and mechanic. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. He was the only person I called who could help and went above and beyond to ensure I wouldn’t be stranded, all within a relatively reasonable budget. Incredibly kind and communicative throughout the whole process. I am so thankful for him and will definitely be calling him again. 110% recommend Eddie to anyone in Tuscaloosa!

My truck starter went out at home, and we needed it fixed ASAP! One call to Eddie and he responded right away, despite being after dark! Within two hours of arriving, Mr. Eddie had obtained new parts and had us fixed with a smile! Super friendly and open about process of repair and costs. I’m a nursing student at Shelton State and my tire went flat along the way to class. My exam is tomorrow and I was terrified that I would have to spend the rest of the day fixing my car instead of studying. When I was in the process of changing my tire, two mobile1 employees (Eddy and I can’t remember the other man’s name 😓) were driving by, jumped out and offered to help. They noticed the nail in my tire and fixed it free of charge. This completely saved my day and potentially nursing career! Y’all are amazing!! Thank you so much!!

BY FAR the WORST service I’ve EVER had!!! I was stranded in Tuscaloosa coming from Columbus MS and I told him that, he charged me 700 dollars to put on a starter and didn’t even put it on right! Left bolts off and missing, hoses and clamps lose and he broke a wiring sensor! CALL ANYBODY but him! He just want your money! That’s ALL!! Not a real mechanic 😒😒😒

Eddie and Mobile 1 Mechanic I cannot recommend enough! My kids and I were traveling 3 hours from home when our car broke down. He was one of very few mechanics that answered the phone and he was honest, dependable and so pleasant to work with. One of the big box "boys" quoted me more than 3x what Eddie did and he was able to come to my car and do the work in a parking lot instead of me having to get a tow. He also offered to go above and beyond to get me from my hotel that was almost an hour away so I didn't have to uber or rent a car back to pick up mine. He is fabulous and someone to keep in your contacts for emergencies! Thank you for caring and for doing such a great job Eddie! We appreciate you so much!

Eddie is a great guy! Had a whole front bumper ('11 Ford Fusion) fall off and got lost in an accident. Eddie and his brother went above and beyond, they spent a lot of time and effort finding a replacement bumper and they fixed the car perfectly and in very fast time. I would recommend 100%!

Mr Eddie and Duke are awesome. We are traveling though and noticed our back axel was out of line with the others. Mr Eddie told us to let him know when we got set up in our RV site and we’d be next on his list. My family is here due to my son in law being in an accident and being on life support. Our truck broke down while here and we had no choice but to call someone to come to us. The guy that did the service was friendly and extremely helpful. While we are very appreciative charging someone $450 plus the part for a starter is simply ridiculous never mind given the situation we are in. Hopefully the owner finds some compassion in the future for the people desperately in need of his service.
