Paid $8000 for a NEW motor and instead got a used motor with multiple issues and it took him 3 months just to get it finished. It immediately had issues the day I picked it up and Mike refused to honor the warranty! Not only that he ruined my paint job and cosmetically damaged my vehicle! I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR VEHICLE HERE!

THE BEST mechanic in Lubbock. We take all 4 of our cars here and we have never had a bad experience with them or their work. Everyone is always so nice and honest that alone is hard to find now a days. I've never felt like they were after our money or just trying to make a sale. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Talk about customer service! I can't say enough good things about Monkey Mike's Auto Repair Inc. When I pulled into their shop with a coolant leak, I was stressed and expecting the worst. But man, did they turn my day around! The owner himself, Mike (yep, the actual Monkey Mike!), came out to greet me. He listened to my concerns, popped the hood, and got right to work. It was amazing to see the owner so hands-on and genuinely caring about his customers' problems. Mike explained the issue in a way that didn't make me feel like a total car dummy. He walked me through the issue and had me back on the road in no time. What really stood out was Mike's friendly, down-to-earth attitude. He made the whole experience feel like I was getting help from a friend rather than just another auto shop. If you're in Lubbock and need a mechanic you can trust, look no further than Monkey Mike's. We took our Nissan Altima in due to a “belt” issue. I’m a woman so I don’t know the proper terminology. Very soon after dropping it off we were called with an estimate of about $550.00 my husband looked at me, I just shrugged my shoulders because I have no idea about how much car repairs cost. Then less than 2 hours later they called and said it was ready. So we went to pick it up & paid the bill and left with our car. My husband thought that it sounded pretty expensive. We have always used Nicks Auto Repair on 34th St. So out of curiosity I called them & was quoted $383.11. That is a BIG difference. I took the receipt to Nick’s & they pointed out a number of things to me. 1. The receipt was not itemized as in parts, labor not even the amount of tax we were charged. 2. The (non-itemized) receipt showed $552.99 but they put $572.34 on our debit card? I told Nicks that the extra charge of $19.35 could be an up charge for using a card. Then Nicks told me in the state of Texas the customers can’t be charged extra for using a card !!!! I didn’t know that. We could have saved $208.58 by using the place we’ve trusted for years now.

Monkey Mike saved my road trip! I was driving through Lubbock on my way to Nevada when an emission system error popped up on my dashboard. I pulled into Monkey Mike’s totally last minute, not expecting them to be able to see me the same day—but they did! They quickly diagnosed the issue, explained everything clearly, and got me back on the road in no time. The price was super reasonable, and their service was top-notch. I was so relieved to find a shop that was honest, efficient, and kind—especially while traveling out of state. If you’re ever in the area and need help with your car, Monkey Mike is the place to go. I brought my daughter’s Honda Civic in because she had an oil leak, and also to get her AC checked out because it stopped cooling. They called me back with an estimated price and said it would be ready in a few days. I needed to call them back with half the payment because when they called me, I did not have my card with me. Well I got busy and forgot to call them my card #, and when they called me back, I thought they were calling to get the payment info… but they were letting me know that the car would actually be ready today, same day of service. Wow… this was amazing! They did the work they promised and the work comes with warranty! The owner Mike was very pleasant, he explained everything that was done. My daughter’s dad and myself were able to split the cost upon paying, so that was convenient for us. Great overall experience… I would recommend for sure!!!

You guys are fantastic. Cannot say enough positive things about this shop. Went to the dealership yesterday with an appointment and as of this afternoon they hadn't even taken it back. Went and picked up my car and brought it to Monkey Mike's on recommendation from Auto Zone. They were able to diagnose my AC problem fix it and do an oil change for under $400 and less than 2hours time. Just got my quote text from the dealership who supposedly only just started diagnostics when I came and said give me my car back I'm done and they quoted me just over $3k. So Monkey Mike's just saved me a ton of money on work that the dealership basically lied and said I need done. These guys were quick, fair priced, super nice and didn't try and fix things that weren't broken. Will be bringing this car back for a couple other things they said they could fix for literally 1/4 of the price we were quoted by the dealership. Will also be brining in our other cars for regular maintenance with this shop. Thanks again!!!!

I had a really stressful experience with my Chrysler 200 last month. It was having a common electrical issue that ultimately led to needing a full transmission replacement. Before coming here, I went to a couple of other shops to see if it might be something less serious, but it was confirmed to be a transmission problem. I called around to multiple places and the quotes I was getting were so high that it honestly didn’t even seem worth fixing the car. This shop gave me the best quote by far, and I was genuinely surprised compared to the other numbers I had been given. They were honest, straightforward, and helpful throughout the process. I truly appreciate their pricing and professionalism. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing major repairs.
