Manuel Mota just saved me $5,000! I had my car (a 2008 3 series with 63,000 miles on it) towed to the service department at BMW of Birmingham after it stalled in the middle of an intersection. After they charged me $190 for a diagnostic to tell me that the engine had “locked up” ( it would have costed another thousand bucks to know why) and that I needed a new engine ($18,000 for a new one, $6,000 for a used), I had the car towed to Mota Autohaus to get a second opinion. Manuel quickly assessed that I simply needed a new alternator. He promptly fixed it the day the alternator arrived in his shop and the car is running like new. The cost, $700.00 (he also had to replace all the oil the dealership’s service department had drained). Best, most competent, professional service I have encountered in a long time!

I’ve never been made to feel more comfortable at an auto shop. I’m a woman who deals with car troubles from time to time, not always knowing if I’m being taken for more than I *need* to have done. At Mota Autohaus, Manny took the time to explain to me what was happening and what needs to be done to resolve the issue. He definitely knows his stuff! Will be using them exclusively going forward!

Was happy to find some good reviews so I called & Manny doesn’t know everyone situation I called to get a quote since I recently had gotten a diagnosis from the BMW center and his response was he doesn’t do quotes over the phone he does his own diagnosis which is unfortunate that money walks away. Guess I will be taking my business else where. Glad he does someone some good !

Manny is the Absolute Best! Having never owned a BMW prior to my visit, I took my recently acquired 1989 E30 Convertible (from a previous owner who failed in fulfilling routine maintenance over the years) to Mota Autohaus for diagnostics and was immediately met with honesty and integrity upon speaking with Manuel over-the-phone and in-person. He gave me an accurate turnaround time and told me when I could expect to hear an update from him. A short time later , Manny gave me a diagnosis of everything needed to get my E30 mechanically proper! Driving BMWs for 40 years we now own two, an 18 year old BMW E46 and a 29 year old BMW E30. Before finding Mota Autohaus older BMW maintenance was definitely a problem, I've lost count of the ripoffs and horror stories using 3 other local shops in particular. Manuel always does what he promises, fixes it CORRECTLY and there are NO cheap "knock off" parts, only QUALITY OEM parts. There's no "Bait & Switch" GOTCHAS when the Final Invoice comes, the estimates hold up when it's time to pay. Thanks for your Expertise Manuel! brian

I can't recommend Manny and moto autohaus enough! I've been bringing both my E30 and M2 here for everything and there's no other place I'd take them to in Birmingham. If you have any BMW, this is the place. Manny is both incredibly experienced and passionate about cars. You can tell the moment you walk into the shop. I've never had an issue with any of his work, and he is extremely easy to reach out to and ask questions about your car.

I have gone to Manny twice now for a 3 series “project” car. He has taken care of every issue (and helped me find other issues we need to service) without failure. I strongly suggest taking your BMW to him because his diagnosis policy alone saves me thousands by nailing EXACTLY what needs to be worked on rather than assuming everything needs to be fixed. He was able to work with me regarding what needed service immediately and what was upcoming in my intervals to allow me time to put back for bigger services coming up. Was hoping I would have a good experience. I called ahead of time to see when I could bring in my car. Was told a specific day and was also told it was take several days. If you can’t get to a car the same day as far as diagnosis, then why hold it??? I explained this is the only vehicle I have at the moment. Just like everyone has responsibility, I only have ONE vehicle and responsibility. I can’t wait around for someone to not work on my car and it just sit while I have to pay for rental expenses. Stop holding onto cars you can’t get to the day of. Tell us to come back when you can actually work. Be considerate of other people’s time especially when you gave a certain day to bring it. I understand that there’s other work to be done for others but just say that and on top of that when I asked to just pick my vehicle back up I said I could bring it back at a time he had time. He never replied back and handed me my keys as if I was dis servicing him.
