I use Jim for everything, oil changes and up. ALWAYS honest, he will find the cheapest way to fix the problem. I had problems accelerating, thought it might be the transmission and two shops said that was it. Brought it to Jim on a recommendation and he found it was a bad valve. Out the door for 10% what the other guys quoted for the transmission. I tell anyone with a problem to go to him.

Our Expedition’s transmission gave out on a Saturday afternoon while we were on vacation in Capitola. With my son in a wheelchair, breakdowns like this can become overwhelming, but James at Noram jumped into action immediately. He coordinated the tow, lined up the right repair path, and even brought in help from other vendors to make sure my whole family could get home safely. He treated the situation like it was his own, and it genuinely felt like we had a friend looking out for us. James went way above and beyond, and I can’t thank him enough. I have been bringing my Truck to Norman's Auto for over 10 years when Jim owned the shop. Its so difficult to find a trusted mechanic that does the needed work and stands behind their services. James, Jim's son took over the shop. James is honest, kind, and goes beyond the call of duty to make sure you're a satisfied customer. My truck has 340,000 miles on it and James and his team did exceptional work. My truck sounds and runs like new. They made sure everything was safe and in detail walked me through the work they did and future reccomendations to keep my baby running pass 500k. Noram auto is by far the best auto shop I have been too. James is a very honest, down-to-earth, transparent, and kind guy. He has always been honest with me about what he thinks the best case scenario would be for my situation and my vehicle, instead of just pocketing money when he easily could have. Recently, I needed one of my rear brake pads and rotors changed and I had asked him to do the job. I had also let him know that I needed my rear brake actuators changed and that I was having my friend do that job for me for free. And he was transparent enough with me to let me know he does not feel comfortable enough to charge me to change my rear brake pads and rotors since when my friend changes my rear brake actuators, he will need to take the rotors and pads off anyway and it will make more sense for him to just throw the new ones back on there instead of the old ones. This is a situation where James could have easily accepted the job and made easy money. And I believe most mechanics would have done just that. But nope James took the initiative to be transparent with me. James has also always been very willing to give me any information I may need when I have wanted to do a DIY project on my vehicle, and he always tells me the best way to go about it. I call him personally and more times than not, he picks up and is always willing to have that conversation with me and provide me with necessary information. Where most mechanics will usually just say bring the car in so they can make quick easy money for a diagnostic fee (sometimes this is absolutely needed) but James is always willing to have a conversation about it first.
