I ordered an engine kit for an amc 258. It said federal mogul pistons, I recieved some knockoff Mexico ones. The bearings were from China. Pretty disappointed for $420.

I ordered MOOG tie rods and bearing hubs for my wife's 2005 Chevy Malibu. Everything arrived very fast (I live in Guam) but the box containing the wheel bearing assemblies was damaged. After inspecting the parts I found one of the studs for the bearing hub was bent (you can imagine that would require quite a bit of force). I started a return process because my wife's car was currently up on jackstands waiting for this part so I really needed this part quickly, after calling their number they unfortunately did not have the items in stock but he said he would issue a refund and I didn't even have to go through the hassle of shipping it back. With my schedule I really appreciated this, and will be buying from them again

Purchased a rebuild kit for an lt1. The gaskets are different and the manufacturer didn't have any in stock. I'm not sure who helped me but it was a younger gentleman. He took my number and called me back a few hours later and they had a set from felpro for 10 bucks more and they can ship it same day even though it was 4pm. I called back next day right at 8am hopeing to add to my order but it had already shipped. An older gentleman helped me place a second order. Very helpful and they really know their stuff.

Our son ordered a rebuild kit for a 283 Chevy standerd and they sent him the wrong one called and they said that’s what you ordered and hung up on him poor poor company communication he even has order information on his phone so he is outta almost 600.00

Their new website is horrible you can't find anything that's needed, the old website was very user friendly. Update 10-2-24 I ordered a set of valves on 9-24-24 I hadn't received any type of notification from Northern Auto parts so I called today and I was told we didn't have the valves in stock we had to order them and we should get them in a couple of days then we'll ship them out. If they can't fill my order let me know. Did Northern change owners or something because they were never this this bad.

I have been rebuilding my 1984 C10 Short Wide for close to 2 years, piece by piece. My mechanic ordered "Elgin" Lifters from Amazon Prime. Northern Auto Parts were the third party shipper of the parts. The parts arrived in an "ELGIN" box. They were installed, and finally my truck was road ready. Less than 700 miles later, a single business trip to Dallas and back, my engine exploded doing 70 down the highway. I nearly lost control and could have been killed. I towed to my mechanic, and on inspection he found that the lifters SHATTERED. Several broke completely in half and several more literally turned to shrapnel, sending pieces through out my engine causing an explosion through my block. The lifters were cheap cast pot metal, not milled steel or anything stock minimum. We took pictures and contacted Amazon who deferred us to Elgin, who said they looked like "Cheap Chinese knock off parts, repackaged in Elgin box." I called Northern, was treated rudely and never responded too. I followed up, no response. I filed a claim through the Better Business Bureau, and it was ignored. They FINALLY responded to my mechanic and offered to send us "good lifters". Not only did their oversight, or worse INTENTIONAL fraudulent sale, nearly cost me my safety, it cost me my truck and thousands on labor and BRAND NEW installed parts. Now they refuse to speak with me,I am forced to prepare legal action and will update once progress is made.
