Absolutely bang-up job! I needed new brakes so badly that a brake pad literally fell out of the truck while they were driving it into the bay. Friend of mine had to pay over a grand for new brake pads and rotors on just the rears so I was pretty anxious, but Jeff&co here hooked me up with front and rear pads+rotors AND a new fan belt to boot for just a hair over $1.5k. Was still a big unexpected cost, but they were super kind, professional, and fast—I dropped it off after work and picked it up after work the very next day. And she handles so smooth now that I'm not convinced they didn't tighten up the steering or something while they were down there! Big recommend, 10/10 will be coming back next time I need something!

I contacted Northgate to check on my brake system and pads. They called me to confrim my appintment and go over details before drop off. After looking at my car, they explained my brake pads were good to go for another 5-7k miles and did not try to oversell me on services. When my car got stuck a day later (just my luck) and sustained some damage due to a stick hitting the radiator, I did not even hestiate to have AAA bring my car for more complex service to Northgate.

The owner and his employees are kind and courteous. Excellent customer service and hard working people. They have the absolute best mechanic around Toney who has 30+ years under his belt. They do everything they can to figure out what is wrong with your vehicle. They do speedy inspections all depending on if they find something that needs to be fixed. And they definitely are not like some businesses out there that make up stuff being wrong with your car that's not just to get money out of you. They are the most honest and real people you will ever meet in the auto service industry.

Was given an appointment, I arrived about 11:05, out about 12:20 I had never been here before. Staff were friendly, professional. I was given an estimate of what charge would be for parts and labor, it did not change. When i asked about future service I may need, he promptly answered and I did not get the feeling I was bothering him. It's good to know I have a reliable honest place to take my car to that is close to where I live.

I've taken our cars here several times over the last few years and have always been impressed by how kind, professional, and honest the folks are here. Kelly at the front desk tells you everything they're going to do up front, calls if they find something and lets you know the pros/cons and charges up front before they do anything, and is always patient and willing to answer questions from a non-car person like me. These folks did a good bit of work on one of my cars and were always great, so when I needed an oil change for my other car and couldn't get to my specialized mechanic, I gave these folks a call...we ran into some snags with ice car's finicky nature, and these guys took care of me swiftly, courteously and handled it EXTREMELY well. As I've always said, it's easy to have great customer service up front, but when there's a snag, what happens? At Northgate Auto Service, they come through. I can confidently say you're in good hands with these guys.

Wonderful experience and great people doing great work. Just be aware the booking an appointment on their website is for vehicle drop off, not your actual appointment time. I booked an appointment for 8am but my car wasn't actually serviced till 3pm. Otherwise, this is a great place local place!

Good work at an absolutely fair price! One of the few auto shops that will call you if the appointment you booked online won’t work. I took my son-in-law’s car in for its state inspection, and they did not charge me for when all they could get was “Not Ready”. Later they were able to get it to pass. The price they charged was half of what I’m used to.

First began coming here off of a review I saw that described Northgate Auto as "Not the cheapest, but fair." I decided that I'd rather go someplace where I could trust in the quality of the service and that place is here. I've been coming here for years, for everything from regular service to electrical repair and each time my experience has been great. Kelly is always great at communicating around the appointments and Jeff is great at setting expectations when I come in around how long it might take to get work done. Most of the time they over-deliver and my car is ready before I expect, which is not an experience I have had in the past. They're honest folks and will even give me alternatives to the work I've requested if it's overly expensive or doesn't fully solve the problem I have. There was one occasion where something that was supposed to be fixed wasn't fixed and when I let them know after leaving the lot, Jeff had me come back, squeezed me in right before closing, got it fixed, and apologized for the prior work not being "up to their standard." I was very impressed. I'm happy to have found a shop that operates with integrity and will continue to bring my cars here. Highly recommend this place for anyone in the Durham area.
