My air condition went out on my Sonata just days before my family and I were due to leave on a road trip to Colorado. I was really worried, but thankfully, I called O’Brien’s and they were able to get me in the same day. They had my AC fixed by the next morning and we were able to leave for our vacation on time. Everyone at O’Brien’s was friendly and helpful. They did a great job of keeping me in the loop on my vehicle’s progress and it didn’t cost me my entire vacation fund. I contacted the facility in November and spoke to a female who advised me that she would call back with an estimate on an auto repair cost that I had inquired about. The callback never came; therefore, after waiting 2 weeks for a callback, I had my car repaired at the dealership. I had attempted to support a small/local business without success. I also sent the facility a communique to make them aware of my experience that went unanswered.

GREAT PLACE FOR INSPECTION! Truly done in less than 15 minutes from roll-in to roll-out! No extra fees, just $7.25 total. I had pulled into the inspection place across the street, which was supposed to be open, but wasn't, and one of the guys saw me and walked over and invited me to come over. I'm so glad he did!

Friendly, informative, helpful customer service from the manager Julie and her staff! I brought my older Nissan Altima in this week due to a Check-Engine light. Received a thorough inspection and diagnostic of my vehicle for around $150. The problem was fixed swiftly and affordably. Julie took the time to explain everything else the mechanics saw in their inspection over the phone, with quotes for future services. She took the time to answer all of my questions and helped me feel confident about making the right choices for servicing my vehicle based on what was essential and what I could afford. I took my 2018 Cadillac CT6 in last Friday morning 2/7/26 because it was shuddering, and there was moisture in my transmission fluid, which is a problem that Cadillac has. It took a minute, but Julie and her mechanics handled my car with precision. They went above and beyond on my repair and got me back on the road and fixed the issue. Julie gave me a cash discount and didn’t charge me for the extra time it took to pull my Cadillac apart. This was my first experience with O’Brien’s auto repair. I will definitely be going back any time I have any other mechanical issues. I was treated extremely professionally and was thrilled with the service. Thanks so much you guys were great.

This is the best automotive shop in SA !! O’Brien’s Automotive did an excellent job from start to finish. The staff was knowledgeable, communicative, and took the time to clearly explain the issues with my vehicle and the repairs needed. AAA members BEWARE! Highly discourage using this shop. Update (01/16/2026): After getting a second opinion at Hook's Complete Auto Care, it was discovered that O'Brien's failed to perform a thorough diagnostic. My 2006 Kia Sorento was actually mechanically totaled. O'Brien's tried to "throw parts" at the issue and charge for a repair that would had exceeded the vehicle's value because they missed the core failure. While they did eventually refund the diagnostic fee, I believe this was only due to the pressure of being caught in a bad diagnosis. Furthermore, O'Brien's claimed the max AAA discount was $50, while AAA confirmed it is actually $75. It's disappointing to see a shop cut corners on a member discount and attempt to double dip into labor. (See attached photo of O'Brien's Automotive diagnostic report & Hook's Complete Auto Care's provided photo of the extent of the harmonic balancer failure). Original Experience: I told them about a wobbly crankshaft pulley after my car stalled while driving and having the 3 serpentine belts fall off/break. They initially quoted $360 for belts, claiming the pulley was "fine." Hours later, the price jumped to $986 to also replace the crankshaft pulley. They attempted to double-dip on labor ($186 for belts + $310 for the pulley, despite being the same teardown) and pushed expensive OEM parts on a high-mileage vehicle despite my request for the most affordable fix. Alternative: Hook's Complete Auto Care on Babcock offered the same repair for under $500 and was professional, transparent and respectful. If you are a AAA member and feel a quote is wrong, remember you can have a AAA mechanic audit the shop's quote—it takes 24-48 hours, but it would saved me from a massive mistake here if Hook's wasn't able to beat them to it.

I’m not familiar with Car Maintenance at all, and the team at O’Brien’s automotive did such an incredible job of helping explain the services my car needed while providing a wonderful experience. AAA recommended them to me and everyone I encountered said they were longtime customers who trusted the shop with their car’s maintenance. This trip I only needed an oil change (very reasonably priced and done quickly) but I can’t wait to continue going there in the future. Oh, and they have an adorable shop cat!!
