On Easter weekend my wife and I were headed to Chicago for our daughters wedding. As we got to Bloomington, the truck quit running. I was finally able to nurse it to Oltmanns. Even though he was booked solid, Jared ran a diagnostic and found that the cam sensor had gone bad. He was able to get that changed and got us on the road at a fair price. We were extremely pleased.

On the way back from NE Minnesota, in my Freightliner Sprinter Camper Van, due to engine problems stopped 250 miles short of home at Bloomington, IL, had this business get the van from a nearby motel, met with them on Monday Aug 30th, was told they were busy and it would take time to get to it. Received no communication from them, all communication I had to initiate. After 3 weeks of hearing nothing, I called again and told pressure test normal, but needed all 5 diesel fuel injectors replaced. 2-3 weeks later I went up from my home in Indiana for a second time to see what was going on, Jared, the owner was immediately defensive and rude. When I asked about the fuel injector order had he received them, he said he had 2 and not sure when the other 3 would come, ( I highly doubt a parts business would send 2 out of five they would hold until all 5 were ready) He never showed them to be, I told him I could get them in a week, he suggested shipping to him, however the online company has a policy to ship to purchaser not a 3rd party. When I got the injectors in a week, I called again to set up a time suitable to him for me to bring them up and stay with the hope to drive it back home. He replied it might be a month or so, and he might put in one or two when he had time. This was totally unacceptable to me, he then stated for a second time I could just come and get the van., clearly implying he didn't want to repair it. Our Van set at this business for 53 days counting weekends, and I can't be sure if anything was actually done. I had no choice but to have the van towed to another repair shop. This without a doubt was the worse experience I've ever had with customer service regarding a vehicle. That experience covers 61 years of driving. This business might do ok for locals, repeat customers, but 53 days without repair and the expressed attitude, If your out of town and need quick assistance, you might want to look elsewhere. I still have trouble believing this experience was this bad.

AWESOME SERVICE! Our truck broke down while pulling our 5th wheel on our way home to California from Michigan. We pulled into the pilot in Bloomington, and the semi mechanic recommended Oltmanns. Unfortunately, we did not get into town until 430. We called him, and he told us to sit tight and bring it to him first thing in the morning. When we arrived in the morning, Jared set us up behind his business with electricity for our 5th wheel, so we had a warm and safe place to wait with our dogs while he figured out our truck! By 5 pm. at closing, he had us back on the road! Jared and his team went above and beyond to take care of us! Wish I could give this company more star! They rock!!! The problem ended up being bad water pump, fan clutch and the radiator.

Jared is the best! We were on vacation heading home. The check engine light cames on and the DEF system was shutting down. Called him a half hour before he closed. He looked at and said he could fix it the next day. He drove us to a hotel and came in on a Saturday to fix it. We were over 3 hours away from home. He was able to get us up and running within 24 hours. We are so thankful for him.

I am so glad I found this place! They are the nicest, most honest people. I have a Volkswagen Passat (diesel) and it’s been very frustrating trying to find anyone who wants to work on it. I’d been going to the dealership in Bloomington/Peoria and had the WORST experience ever. The dealership ended up installing something incorrectly and over charging me. I know I have a trusted mechanic here at Oltmanns. Therefore I will be more than happy to give him all my business. I have nothing but great experiences at Oltmanns! They are amazing at communication and being fast!!

I'm trying to get a hold of this company with no luck. Did they close down? They replaced the motor in my husband's truck at the beginning of this year has a warranty on the motor and we can't get a hold of the company regarding the warranty and getting it fixed. I've tried calling and I keep getting a notice about the number and I've tried their Facebook. Other than the current situation they were great when they first fixed the truck.
