Brought my out of state 2023 car to get smogged. The guy behind the desk was very rude and abrupt and asked for the registration. Well, in Texas the official registration is the sticker on the car. I said, “come on out and take a look”. “No. Where is your title?” I answered, “that is not required to smog a car, only a current registration which I have. I’ll go out and take a picture of it since you won’t to outside”. Came back in with a pic of my sticker that says on it Texas Registration. He rudely says he can’t use this he needs more information. “Like what else do you need? the VIN number is right on the car. I have my license with my name.” He again rudely said “bring me the title”. I replied my sticker was good enough at your competitor (Clean Air) for my other car but they are not open Friday afternoons.. He then ignored me. Summary: Super rude and unhelpful. At the other place they were very friendly, welcomed me to California, I’ll go there Monday.

Never again. Have had several smogs here before. This time, I was failed in a matter of two minutes. Had just had my oil and filter changed. The very rude cashier from the get-go said I probably needed to drive it around to reset it. Charged me and said there would be no free re-test. I had to take my car here twice. They did not reconnect everything in my car when they're finished and items were missing from the cab. First thing you have to know is if you have recently had your car serviced can't get it smogged until your computer completes a drive cycle. Some places won't charge you and will tell you to come back. At Pacific smog they'll charge you 50 bucks and tell you to come back for a reduced cost. The tech who did my smog check disconnected my dash cam which records the interior of the cab. When they were finished. They did not reconnect it. Two pairs of wireless headphones were missing from my car. I kept them in the center console for hiking and I didn't realize they were gone for a week later. I have contacted Pacific smog, they do not contact you back. I've taken my other cars here in the past, I don't know if something changed but this was a very different experience. I'm not even sure if it's worth filing a police report. Coming here was a major mistake.

I called last week to ask about their hours over the holidays, but no one answered the phone. I checked their website for hours of operation today but there were no notes so I called them, and no one answered. I arrived at the shop at 4:10 and was refused service because my older model car would take 30 minutes to test and they close at 4:30. I asked where on the website I should have found that information and the agent said it’s not on there but I should have called and asked. I said I did call but no one answered and he said they’re busy. He was flippantly apologetic, obviously exasperated by me, and told me to come back the next day before 4:00. I sat in their lot and called around until I found another shop that would take me. It was just down the road and the mechanic said to come on in. I was there in a few minutes, there was one person before me and the mechanic started my test at 5:00, when they were closing. He was gracious and accommodating and has won my business over Pacific Smog.
