Got oil change and tire rotation managers special they called it. Took over 2 hours for them to complete the work. Drove the car and the next day low Oil light came on. Took it in they added half a quart. Drove it another week and noticed oil on my garage floor. Opened the hood and there was oil all over the under hood and engine. Looked over things and noticed the oil cap was on wrong so was loose. The oil was shooting out all over as I was driving it. Took it back in to them and showed them the cap had marking that need to be lined up on it and wasn’t. The added 2 quarts of oil and did NOT clean up the oil all over the engine.they told me to go and wash the engine. So did. Drove it another week and noticed oil drops on garage floor still. So took it to another pep boys to look at and they cleaned up the oil from before and put a dye in the oil and said come back in a week if still have oil drops. So it still was leaking and took it in again and they scanned the engine with light to see the dye in th oil and found that the gaskets had cracked from driving it with low oil. And I don’t know why the oil light did not come on. Hope they didn’t unhook it. So now I am having the other pep boys fix it before gets worse. No one offered a discount or apology. Would sue them but know from other people that would be hard to prove in court. Now I don’t want the car. Sick of what they did and worried car might have other issues from this. 😡

I have a Cadillac, fuel pump went out, didn't want to take it to dealership. Too expensive so I tried my local pep boys. Cadillac was towed to S Boulder Location they had an opening. Work was completed. A day late & $1400 later car was ready. I pay, I get my key, I drive off. My Cars interior is all cream in beautiful condition. I look around and notice grease handprints and marks all over driver side (interior) I understand their hands will be dirty, these things called latex gloves were invented to prevent incidents like this from happening. The disrespect of my interior was a slap in the face. I was nothing but polite, courteous and kind and this is how I was repayed. Thanks.

INCOMPETENT - Set an appointment for noon. Arrived and aske how long it would take. I was told it was indicated as 1 hour in the book but that the mechanic was out on a test drive for another vehicle but he couldn't be sure. After waiting an hour, they hadn't even started on it. I asked for a time estimate and they told me to leave the vehicle because they didn't know what day it would be done.

Finding a trustworthy auto shop can be tough, but this location has always made the experience easy and stress-free. While other mechanics seem to look for every way to charge extra for things your car may not even need, this team is refreshingly honest and straightforward. I think my mechanic’s name was John, and he did an excellent job diagnosing and repairing my car. Beyond that, Jaron, the assistant manager, truly stood out. He’s not only knowledgeable about cars, but also compassionate, approachable, and full of positive energy. His people skills are exceptional, and he makes you feel heard and respected throughout the process. What impressed me most was Jaron’s integrity. He patiently answered all my questions, walked me through every problem with my car, and explained the repair options clearly. It was obvious that he genuinely wanted to help me, not just complete the work. Thanks to this team, car maintenance doesn’t feel stressful or overwhelming. Their honesty, professionalism, and care make them an auto shop I trust completely. Chat gpt helped me with my wording this but I provided all the details :)

Rude to my daughter because her special needs sons trashed her husbands car. Made her pull in her car and told her her car is nasty. Update from my daughter: I am extremely concerned about the technician who performed my brake job. If I only requested a brake job and my battery cables are brand new, I wonder what his thought process was. Was he attempting to cause a fire in my vehicle? The cable was tied to the inside of my car and I noticed a burning smell, which prompted me to open the hood. This is alarming. Furthermore, he had the audacity to lie to me over the phone, claiming he did not access the hood, despite the inspection report I received via email. It is astonishing to encounter such unscrupulous individuals.

tl/dr: Long time customer potentially ripped off by company UPDATE: Pepboys final response to me after reaching out was "Those prices were correct. You are wrong about your check engine light." Extremely dishonest place. Avoid at all costs. I had a horrible experience today with my service. I have been using Pep Boys for quite some, and while their prices are not always the cheapest, I have never felt like they were trying to scam me. That is, until today. I went in today to get my headlight on my passenger side swapped out. I have had this service done at Pep Boys, at this location, twice in the past couple of years. My most recent time was April 3, 2025 for my driver's side. On both occasions I paid on average about $85. Plus, they were advertising a headlight installation package of $22 for each side, so I assumed it would be in the same ballpark. Perhaps a little more with ever increasing prices. Something I have noticed this location has started doing, is that they will not let you see the work order ahead of time, and flash things quickly across the screen. They ask you to sign and ask for the keys. (This part I bear some responsibility for not requesting the work order up front. As I had no issue with them in the past, and the charges had been consistent, I felt no need to.) When it came time to close me out, they handed me the work order and a list of recommended services. The first thing that jumped out at me is that they were charging me $560 to change my head light. Parts were $340, labor $160. Nearly a 700% increase in price. That seemed ridiculous, and I told them I could not pay that much. The service tech told me they could put my old bulb back, but it would still be $113 for labor. I essentially paid $113 for no service, which was still more than I paid just 5 months ago for a complete headlight service. I decided to leave to check my records and banks statements at home, to make sure I was not erroneous about the previous cost of services. Also, as part of the recommended services they said my check engine light was on, and they could do a diagnostic for $100. When I pulled into the shop my check engine light was definitely NOT ON. My oil change light was, but not the check engine light. I thought perhaps they made a mistake. When I got into my car, sure enough, my check engine light was on, but not my oil light. Turned off my car, and turned it back on, and the check engine light stayed OFF. However, my oil light is now not coming on at all. Though I cannot prove it, with the shady charges with the headlight, I suspect someone may have been messing with my car's electronics to try to scam me for $100 more.

I took my work truck into the 408 S Boulder Hwy Henderson location for a brake inspection and had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with an auto shop. First, they quoted me a ridiculous $3,000 for repairs. Then, they told me my battery was “completely dead” — even though my truck started and drove just fine. To double check, I went to AutoZone right after and they confirmed the battery was perfectly fine. When I declined their overpriced brake pad replacement, they told me I had to pay a $110 diagnostic fee before getting my truck back — even though their own website clearly advertises brake diagnostics as FREE. For comparison, I went to Brake Masters and had the exact brake work done for only $220. That’s almost 15 times cheaper than what this location tried to charge me. This place operates with dishonest, predatory pricing and I would strongly recommend avoiding them. Save your time and money — go somewhere else.

THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND DANGEROUS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I am beyond disgusted with the "service" I received at Pep Boys. Six to eight months ago, I paid for a FULL brake job—pads, rotors, drums, and a fluid flush. I expected professional work. What I got was a ticking time bomb. Recently, my brakes started locking up and smelling like they were on fire. I took it back to Pep Boys, and they told me the rear brakes weren't working at all, forcing the fronts to do everything. For 8 months we apparently had no rear brakes. They "fixed" it and sent me on my way. Less than FIVE MILES later, the brakes LOCKED UP AGAIN. The burning smell was immediate. I had to pull over and get it towed. An independent shop found that the rear brakes were still improperly adjusted—one side was dangerously tight! They also confirmed the front rotors were fried with hot spots. Pep boys technician, Mike, admitted he recommended resurfacing them, but Pep Boys refused. This is not just bad service; it's gross negligence. You put my safety, and the safety of others on the road, at risk. I am out money for the initial botched job, a tow, and a second inspection, all because you refused to do the job right. This is a disgrace. Update: I brought my car back to Pep Boys for the same brake problem. They had supposedly fixed it for free yesterday, but the very next day, the issue returned. When I arrived, my brakes were smoking uncontrollably. The staff, however, insisted that a solid brake pedal and smoking brakes were completely normal. A technician even stood there denying the smoke while my phone recorded it. I'm beyond furious. Management hasn't contacted me, and the only solution they've offered is another "free brake inspection." This is the third time I've had to come here this week for the same issue. 2nd update: After the "free brake inspection" they finally supposedly found the problem. Fluid was getting into te brake booster. They replaced. Truck is home. Moved from 1 star to 2. Will update if anymore issues.

I appreciated the quick service that the staff here gave me in terms of fixing my car after having issues with so many other shops in the area over the past 3 years. They even had my car by the exit doors when I left instead of making me walk around back to grab it. Jaron and the rest of the guys were awesome, definitely going back if there's ever trouble I can't reliably fix myself!

We came in on a Sunday with major tie rod problems and Mike and Jaron stayed late and got us back on the road safely. We have additional work to be done and will come back to this shop before we head home to Idaho because we trust we will be taken care of here at this Pep Boys!! These guys are Outstanding!!!

This place was outstanding! They had a wonderful master tech who worked on my car and gave me a visual of everything I needed for my car. I only came for brakes and rotor replacement, he was truly concerned for my safety and I appreciate him giving me extra information on my car and what precautions I should take. He went above and beyond for me and that means a lot to someone who is new to the state. This is my new go to place! Thanks again guys!

after being told by an oil change place that i had a leaking CV boot and noticing some road vibration I made an appointment to have the vehicle checked out. the appointment was at noon, I arrived a bit early and left to get a snack. when I came back I waited for nearly another hour before the mechanic came and got me to take him on a test drive to diagnose the vibration. My car had not been moved before then. while on the road test, the mechanic listened to a youtube video on his phone about transmission problems related to my make and model of car. then he told me that it was for certain the transmission. we went inside where he announced that it was the transmission and i was told to take it to the dealership for repair. i never got a receipt showing the results of the inspection (probably because there hadn't been one.) or it would have noted my leaking CV joint and some looseness in the joint. I took pepboys at their word and since I couldnt afford a transmission, decided I would just drive the car until it died. well, fast forward 6 months and the vibrations got far worse so, I took it to a reputable shop and after having the CV axle replaced it drives just fine. so in a nutshell I got charged over 40 dollars to drive the mechanic around while he made up a diagnosis. I had always believed that it was the CV axle and that was confirmed as time went on, one day while driving, i looked at a water bottle in my cupholder and it was shaking side to side. NOT front to back as if the transmission was lurching. the out of balance CV shaft was shaking my front wheel causing a side to side shimmy that could also be felt in the steering wheel. water bottle 1 mechanic 0

I had an outstanding experience at this Pep Boys thanks to Jaron Dixon, the Assistant Store Manager. I needed two batteries replaced in my 2023 Chrysler Pacifica, and Jaron was incredibly helpful. He immediately identified exactly what I needed, found the right products at a great price, and managed to fit me in for same-day service. To top it off, the work was finished even faster than his original estimate. If you need honest, efficient service, go see Jaron!

UPDATE 7/8/25: stars increased from 2 to 4. after escalating to upper management, i was reached out to by the store manager to have my entire set of hubcaps replaced! very happy with how they look now. only issue is that my tires were unbalanced, but i already got them balanced at a different shop. thanks for making it right. i still think it's a good idea to take pics of your car before turning it over to someone, but that's probably just a smart policy to have. old review: be sure to take pics of your entire car before you bring it in! service was pretty fast, but got my brand new tires looking pretty dingy from the get go, and my hubcap broken. they just told me they didn't break it and since i didn't have photos of my car beforehand they shrugged and said i can't prove they broke it. 🤣 that's craaaazy it's sad because i liked the service i had gotten here before, but i feel so disrespected that i won't be returning.
